Lucas Part 3
That afternoon, at precisely 11 a.m., Muggie and I went to Leyna's house by taxi. I the initial plan to return home, I abandoned. I and Muggie chose to sleep in the dormitory last night. Luckily, I have very understanding parents. When I asked them over the phone, they allowed me to spend the holidays with my friends.
It took about 1 hour until we finally arrived at Leyna's house. My eyes stared in amazement at the luxury of Leyna's home. Her house is no less magnificent than Sean's house. Two gatekeepers at Leyna's home approached us as we walked closer. But Muggie has been coming to this house often because the two guards greeted Muggie and, without hesitation, opened the gate for us.
"Do you want to meet Miss Leyna?" one of the guards asked Muggie.
"Yes, does Uncle know where she is now?"
"Miss and young master Sean are in the garden. Please go there," said the guard politely and kindly. I cringed a little when I heard that Sean was already in this house, which meant everything Leyna said yesterday was true.
"Oh, okay. Thank you," replied Muggie, taking my hand to lead me somewhere.
"You've been here many times, haven't you?" I asked Muggie, who answered with a nod.
"Back when I was in junior high school, I, Leyna, and Sean were often in the same group. We often use this house as a place for us to do group assignments together," she answered, which made me nod in understanding.
We finally arrived at a flower garden that stretched wide—grassy land filled with various colorful flowers that grow beautifully. In the center was a greenhouse, and Muggie led me into the greenhouse. My amazement grew when I saw the stunning scenery in this glass house. This greenhouse is a place to rest because there are many comfortable seats. There is even a giant swing that is comfortable to sit on or be used as a bed while enjoying the beautiful flowers growing around this greenhouse. There is even a pool and fountain near the swing.
"Ah, there they are." Muggie's words made my attention focus on a table in the middle of the greenhouse. Two people were sitting casually, eating food already served on the table. The two people were none other than Leyna and Sean. Sean looked surprised when he looked at me.
"Leslie, you coming too?" Sean asked me.
"I'm good, right, Sean? I even brought your ex-girlfriend, too?" Leyna said that made annoyance pop up in my mind instantly. Ex-girlfriend, she says? Sean and I still need to make it official.
"Leslie is not my ex-girlfriend," Sean replied, increasing my frustration. Does he not even want to admit that we were dating now?
"Leslie is still my girlfriend," Sean said again, which instantly made this annoyance disappear, replaced by a feeling of relief mixed with pleasure when I saw Leyna's face turning red with anger.
"Have you guys had lunch? Come join us," Sean invited me and Muggie. We had already eaten before leaving, but having been offered like that, we couldn't refuse. Muggie and I finally joined them.
"Try this cake. It tastes perfect," Sean said while giving me a chocolate cake. He also smiled at me, which made me feel good. A smile that will be missed. What happens? Has he gone back to being the old Sean?
"Thanks," I replied, accepting the cake, as Sean said it was delicious.
I ate the chocolate cake in silence. I only listened to the conversations between Sean, Leyna, and Muggie. The three of them looked very familiar. Even Sean repeatedly laughed out loud with them both. Sean rarely shows joy, especially lately.
Their conversation was interrupted when a middle-aged man and woman approached us. They were Leyna's parents. Leyna's mother was wonderful and elegant, making me realize that Leyna's beauty was inherited from her mother. They are very friendly and treat us well.
"When are you guys leaving?" It was Leyna's father who asked this.
"In a minute, Dad. There is one more person we are waiting for," Leyna replied, not knowing who the person she was referring to was.
"Oh yes. Sean, you haven't played here in a long time." This time, Leyna's mother spoke up. Her question proved that Sean used to come to this house often. I don't have any doubts anymore. Sean and Leyna have had a close relationship since the beginning.
"Yes, Auntie. Uncle and Aunt look even better together," said Sean, smiling.
"Hahaha ... you can do it. Oh yes. Are you and Leyna officially dating now? Leyna is always talking about you, you know she's been crazy about you since a long time ago?" Sean just chuckled at that. He wasn't even bothered by Leyna's mother's words. He also did not dismiss or deny the question earlier.
"When will you propose to Uncle's spoiled daughter, Sean?" A question from Leyna's father made me almost choke on my drink. Apply? What does this mean? I glared at Sean. He was speechless and had a nervous look on his face.
"Uh, why did Daddy suddenly ask Sean like that?" Leyna's spoiled voice made me sick to hear it. If her parents weren't here, I would have grabbed her hair.
"Instead of going out, it's better for you to get married right away. Don't worry, Sean. Uncle and Aunt will approve and support your marriage. After all, our family relationship is perfect. Your mother will also be happy and supportive if you two get married." Like being struck by lightning, that's what I'm feeling right now. So Sean's and Leyna's families have a very close relationship. Sean's mother would have approved of their relationship. Significantly, it is much different from me. Sean's mother didn't like me and told Sean to stay away from me. I don't know why hearing this makes my heart feel like a sharp knife is cutting it, and these tears feel like I'm rebelling for release.
'N-no, me and Leyna..."
"Just pray, okay, Mommy, Daddy. Please pray for me and Sean to get married as soon as possible," said Leyna, steadily cutting off Sean's words, which made me curious. I wonder what Sean would have said earlier.
"Whoa, whoa, Leyna. It seems you can't wait to be Maxwell's mistress," said Leyna's mother, instantly making Leyna and her father laugh. While Sean just smiled, a smile that was difficult to decipher. Only Muggie looked at me pitifully. She seemed to feel the sadness and heartache I was feeling right now. I tried to smile at Muggie, letting her know I was okay. Even though I'm not really in a good mood. If I were alone, I would have cried uncontrollably.
"Sorry, I'm late." A voice suddenly rang out, which brought our attention to him. My eyes widened when I saw the owner of the vote. He's someone I know well. He was Carl. I didn't expect the person Leyna was referring to was Carl.
