Sean Part 8
"Sean is going to be dead soon, I'm sure Maggie can't wait for him. She must be happy that I sent Sean off to the same world as her. Finally, I can see them together again. Hahahaha," said Muggie while laughing like a madman. This Muggie in front of me was not the Muggie I'd known. As she said, Sean was getting close to death, and there was no way I could take that for granted.
"Muggie, I don't mean to defend myself. I'm saying this because I want to tell you the truth," I said, which made Muggie's attention focus on me.
"Haah… what do you mean?" she asked confused.
"The day I woke up after my soul was held captive by Marco's ghost. When Marco would say goodbye to me before going to his world. I did see a girl beside him. And if I remember correctly, that girl's face is very similar to yours. I was so stupid for forgetting that incident. Just then, I saw the two of them smiling at me they even held hands before they disappeared. They look so happy, I think it's because they're not lonely anymore. They already have a partner. Just so you know Marco's ghost story is similar to Maggie's. He was also sick during his lifetime. They are together and not lonely anymore therefore they can go peacefully to their world." In my long story, I did tell the truth. Said everything I saw that day.
"Huuh… you think hearing your words can move me and change my mind? It's useless, I'm already sure of my decision. No one will be able to change it. So stop saying nonsense." I was very disappointed because she did not believe my words. But it's not me if I quit and give up.
"You know me, Muggie. You know what kind of person I am. You know I can't lie to you, especially in a situation like this."
"SHUT UP!! I never trusted you. Everything I told you before was just an act. I never considered you my best friend. I've told you everything, now you go. Leave me alone and prepare your heart to accept Sean's departure. You've had enough fun with him so far. It's about time he went back to Maggie's place." Muggie walked over to her bed as if she wanted to continue what she was doing before we entered her room.
"Answer one more of my questions, then we will leave here." Muggie sat on her bed and stared intensely at me.
"I've told you everything, what else do you want to know?!" she asked back with a snap in her voice.
"What did Lucas' ghost show you that scared you so much?" Muggie's eyes widened, but she remained silent without answering my question.
"Considering that Sean was still fine before I left the Mansion. I'm sure Lucas showed you some illusions as he did to me. The witchcraft on Sean's body works according to your will because of your contract. So tell me, what did Lucas show you that made you accelerate your plan to kill Sean and scared you so much?" Muggie was still silent, but I could see the fear on her face.
"Even though you never considered me as your best friend. But unlike you, I have always considered you my best friend. Our memories of six months together, I can't just forget it. I just want to save you from Lucas' ghost illusion," I said sincerely to her.
"SHUT UP!!" Muggie looked angry, and she threw a glass at me. Luckily, the glass didn't hit me; it shattered against the wall behind me. Her action naturally made everyone in the room gasp together.
"I just want to help you break free from that illusion. Don't you want to live a normal life like before without being haunted by feelings of fear? Without being chased by the illusions that Lucas' ghost showed you? Everything you see will never disappear before you tell me." Persuaded me again without giving up in the slightest.
"Do you think you can help me?"
"Of course, I have also experienced the same incident as you. Lucas' ghost also shows scary illusions to me. But I managed to fight it to escape its influence." This time, Muggie was silent with her head lowered.
"He showed me all of Maggie's pain as if he knew all about Maggie. I love Maggie so much. I can't stand to see all her suffering that ghost is showing me. After seeing that, my hatred for Sean grew so much that I decided to speed up my revenge. At first, I wanted to take my revenge slowly. I wanted to see you suffer longer, Leslie." I shuddered at hearing Muggie's plan. She wanted to destroy me as severely as I could from the start.
"But those images didn't stop appearing in my mind even after I hastened my revenge. Instead, I saw other horrible images. I saw someone torturing me viciously. Everything seemed real. I felt like I was being tortured. And the most terrible thing, I saw myself trapped forever in that Mansion. I saw scary ghosts in the Mansion. Ghosts I've never seen before. They flocked to me and said I was one of them. Th-that's so scary, those images can't get out of my head." Muggie cried, clutching her head. Now I understand why she always looked scared, even inside the Mansion.
"Lucas's ghost did that on purpose to influence you. If only at that time you fought him instead of obeying him then he would not have succeeded in influencing you. But there is still a way for you to be free from those illusions." Muggie looked enthusiastically at me as if she was expecting me to continue.
"The only way for you to be free from that illusion is to free your heart from your hatred and grudges. If your heart can forgive me and Sean and accept Maggie's departure with sincerity then all of Lucas' influence will disappear from your mind. Trust me Muggie, cancel your contract with that magic power and you will be free from the influence of Lucas's ghost. If you keep it up, that's what he wants. You and he are similar, your hearts are filled with hatred and revenge that's why he showed all those illusions so that you end up like him. Don't want to be an evil ghost-like Muggie. Fight his influence, prove to him that you are different from him."
"Hahahaha… everything you said was bullshit. You're just poisoning my mind to get me to forgive Sean. Very clever of you, Leslie, but I won't be fooled. Now get out of my room, don't bother me again!!" It was tough to get Muggie to come to her senses. Her heart was too filled with darkness. She could no longer even tell the difference between truth and lies. She believed the lie that Lucas' ghost showed more than the truth that I told her.
"GO, HURRY!!" Muggie threw things that were on the table beside her at us. We started walking towards the door. But I still can't accept this. I still don't want to give up. I still want to save Sean.
