Marie Part 6
Like my original plan, I called Angie. I'm currently talking to her on the phone. I've told Angie everything about the strange ghost of Marie. Hearing this, Angie was silent for a long time, and I could only wait for her to speak again.
"So what do you think, Angie? Do you know the answer to Marie's ghost?" I said that I was getting tired of waiting.
"Hmm, sorry, Leslie. I was remembering something just now. But I think I already know why the ghost is behaving strangely."
"Is that true, Angie?"
"You said she had a chance to chat with you even though she was in class during the exam. Isn't her behaviour like she's still alive?" she asked, which made me realize what Angie had said.
"Y-yes, that's it."
"She even cried because she was ignored by her roommates, there's the only reason she acts like that. She hasn't realized that she is dead and has become a ghost."
"Haah!!" Unknowingly, the scream came out of my mouth. Angie's explanation seemed strange to me.
"Th-that's impossible. How could she not realize that she was already dead?" I asked. I really couldn't believe this.
"This is what I believe. This might happen to someone who fell into a coma before she died. Yes, to find out the truth, just try to prove it yourself, Leslie. You can tell her the truth, the fact that she's dead."
"But what if this thinking of yours is wrong? Then in what way should I calm her down so that she goes to her realm?"
"Hufffttt... hah..." Only Angie's breath could be heard, making me annoyed.
"Hey, Angie. Are you serious about helping me or not?"
"Of course I'm serious. I already told you my thoughts. You just try to do as I suggest you. If it turns out that my estimate is wrong, you can find out for yourself, right? Hey, this isn't the first time you've faced a ghost. It's also usually you who finds a way to appease any ghosts you encounter by asking them to show you their memories. You just do what you normally do." I was speechless hearing Angie's words. Yes, everything she said was true.
"I-I'm just not used to facing ghosts alone. You were always with me," I said softly. Yes, this is how I feel right now.
"What do you mean alone? Right, there's Sean with you. Leslie, he is always beside and helping you, so you are not alone." Hearing this, my heart trembles. If only Angie knew what happened between me and Sean. Yes, that's right, if I had Sean by my side, I wouldn't be afraid or doubtful like this. He would accompany me when I had to do something to calm ghosts, like when I tried to calm Eric's spirit. Sean always attended to me. He even took me to meet Eric's family. But now, even though his body is near me, I feel he is so far away as if an abyss separates us.
"You two aren't fighting, are you?" Angie's question brought me back to my senses from my heartbreaking reverie.
"N-no," I lied. I don't want to make Angie worry about us. She's pregnant. I don't want to burden her with my and Sean's problems.
"Where's Sean? Is he with you? Leo wants to talk to him."
"He's not here. I called you into my room." This time, I answered honestly. I was in my room.
"Hmm, all right then. Leslie, I'm sorry I can't accompany you to face the ghost."
"It's OK, Angie. Thank you for helping me find a solution against Marie's ghost."
"Hahaha ... I'm not sure my thinking is right. Yes, let's hope it's true. If you don't have anything else to discuss, I'll hang up first, OK? I have to cook first. Leo must be starving," she said, which made me smile unconsciously. I was happy that Angie and Leo's household life was running smoothly.
"Do you know how to cook, Angie?" I said teasingly.
"Of course, what do you think Leo and I would eat if I didn't cook? Huh." I just chuckled at her answer with an irritated tone to her voice.
"I think Mr. Leo is cooking. I feel he is more reliable than you Angie, hahaha."
"LESLIE, STOP TEACHING ME!!" her screams made me laugh out loud. I don't know. When talking to Angie, I can forget my problems momentarily. I miss being with Angie. When I was with her at Grandes High School, if time could be turned back, I wish I could return to those good times.
"I'm happy to see you living happily with Mr. Leo."
"You know, being married is fun. I can live together with the man I love. The days we spent together were delightful. You and Sean should catch up with us soon. You will understand what I mean when you marry Sean." Once again, I can only be stunned to hear it. Married to Sean, that's what I want. However, now I doubt this desire of mine can come true. Sean and I might split up.
"All right, Leslie. Alright then. Good luck and success with the ghost. Say hello to Sean from me and Leo, please."
"OK, Angie." She cut the phone connection, and at that moment, I felt all the burdens of my thoughts filling my head again.
When the night came, when it was midnight, according to the plan, Muggie and I went to meet the ghost of Marie. The first place we went to was her room with Nina and Mai, but I didn't see her in the room at all, so we looked elsewhere.
The second place we went was the toilet, where I chatted with her a few days ago. I wandered around the bathroom but felt disappointed again when I didn't find her there. Muggie and I finally decided to go around the female dorm, which consists of 3 floors. We ignored the silence and silence in the dormitory for now, which was only natural since everyone in the dorm must be asleep by now. I looked at Muggie's face. There was fear in it. I didn't want to trouble her like this, but when I had to ask for her help, I tried to eliminate this reluctance in my heart.
"How's Leslie? Haven't you seen her anywhere?" I shook my head in response.
"Maybe she's not coming to the dorms tonight," said Muggie in her argument.
"There is still one place we haven't gone yet. Hopefully, she's there, if not, we'll try again tomorrow." Muggie nodded in agreement with my suggestion. We walked towards the place I meant earlier.
After being in that place, which was none other than where I last saw her, it led me to find the buried box. Yes, I and Muggie are in the back of the dormitory now. My eyes widened when I saw her figure. She was standing under a tree just like that time.
"Muggie, she's here. Get ready to record," I whispered to Muggie. Muggie looked surprised and nervous. She even dropped the cell phone she had been holding. The sound of the cell phone dropping seemed to be heard by the ghost of Marie because now she had turned her body around and was staring at us.
