Sean Part 1
When I slowly opened my eyes, lights brightly lighted the scenery around me. The smell of typical hospital medicines pricked my nose. I realized where I was right now.
"Are you sober?" I asked a woman who looked like a nurse if I saw her uniform.
"Where is this?"
"You are in the hospital. Many residents in this area escorted you and your friends here." Hearing the answer from the nurse, I nodded in understanding. Suddenly, curiosity about the state of my friends disturbed my mind.
"How are my friends?" I finally asked the nurse.
"They are fine, their condition is stable. It's just that there is still one person who hasn't regained consciousness until now," answered the nurse while her hand was busy checking my pulse. Maybe she was checking my condition.
"We have informed your family via the cell phones that we found in the pants pockets of your male friends. If I'm not mistaken their names are Sean and Carl, right? But we haven't contacted your family or your girlfriends."
"No problem, let me give the news to my family and my friends' families," I finally answered. The nurse was still busy checking my condition. But something else has bothered me since I heard the nurse's words.
"Oh yes. Who is my friend who is not yet conscious?"
"Your friend named Sean. The doctor was surprised because his body condition was fine, he only had minor injuries on his body but his body did not respond at all during the examination. And until now he has not regained consciousness." I was shocked to hear that, based on what the nurse said, Among us all, only Sean was not yet conscious while the injuries on his body were not too severe. Anxiety suddenly spread in my heart.
"He always complains of pain in his head. Have you guys checked? Maybe he has some disease," I said doubtfully. Of course, I didn't expect Sean to suffer from any illness, but considering he constantly complained of a headache, it made me think maybe he was.
"We have done an X-ray examination of him because the doctor felt his condition was strange, but the examination results did not show any serious illness that he was suffering from. Everything is normal." I breathed a sigh of relief hearing that. Thankfully, if Sean is okay, my worries will never happen. But at the same time, I was amazed. If Sean has no illness, why does he always look so sick?
"You have to rest a lot because your injuries are the most severe compared to your friends. The residents who brought you here have told the chronology of what happened to you to get injured like this. You must have experienced a terrible incident in that haunted Mansion." I just responded with a smile because I didn't want to talk about the Mansion.
"Okay, I'll excuse you first," said the nurse as she started to walk to leave my treatment room.
"Wait!!" Immediately, the nurse stopped and turned back to face me.
"Is there anything else you need?" she asked surprised.
"Please take me to Sean's treatment room. I want to visit him." The nurse looked surprised to hear my request. She even told me not to see Sean because I couldn't get up and walk yet. But not me, if I give up. I pushed her a bit, and she finally gave in when I told her I was Sean's girlfriend.
The nurse brought me a wheelchair. She allowed me to go if I agreed to use the wheelchair. I also had no other choice but to comply. The nurse took me to Sean's treatment room.
Arriving at Sean's treatment room, I saw his body lying limp on his bed. With the help of the nurse pushing my wheelchair, now I'm beside Sean.
"Excuse me first, press the button beside the bed if you want to return to your treatment room," said the nurse, to which I nodded.
"Thank you." After giving me a friendly smile, she walked out of the room.
I looked at Sean's face. He looked like he was fast asleep. His breathing was even, but he didn't make any movement. Maybe it was his residence that made the doctor wonder about his condition. Even though he's asleep, shouldn't an average human make a little movement, even if it's just changing position or moving his hand? But not with Sean. Even though he looked asleep, his body was lying stiffly on his bed.
I wound on his face from his fight with Carl at the lake. I can still see clearly. There were also scratches on his hands from the jars that hit his body when he was blocking Muggie's body, which was attacked by Lucas' ghost in the Mansion.
I held his hand. His body temperature felt freezing, making me even more worried about him. For a moment, could it be possible that he was under the influence of Lucas' ghost, considering I saw Leyna's body, which was possessed by Lucas' spirit, sitting cross-legged on Sean's back? However, I dismissed that thought when I didn't feel the presence of a soul in Sean's body. He looks normal, so what happened to Sean?
I stroked his forehead slowly and gently touched his face, which was full of bruises—things I've never done again since the change in his attitude toward me. Since his attitude changed, I've rarely been this close to him. Honestly, I miss the smile and attention that used to be me.
The sound of the phone vibrating jolts me. I saw that the voice came from the cell phone on the nightstand beside Sean's bed. I knew it was Sean's cell phone and took it without hesitation. I saw the words' Sunny calling' displayed on the cell phone screen and immediately picked it up.
"Hello, Sunny. It's me, Leslie."
"Ah, Sis Leslie, thank goodness you picked up the phone. I received a call from the hospital informing me that Bro Sean was being treated there. How are you now, sis?" she asked, panicked and worried.
"He still hasn't woken up," I replied sadly, returning my gaze to Sean's eyes, which were still faithfully closed.
"What happened, sis? Aren't you on vacation there? But I was surprised that Sis Leslie came too because Bro Sean didn't tell me he was also going on vacation with you." Naturally, Sean didn't tell Sunny that I was going on holiday with him because Sean didn't know I was going. More precisely, I went on vacation with them without being planned.
"I'll tell you the details later when we meet."
"Are there any ghosts there? Then the ghost hurt you?" Sunny asked, who seemed dissatisfied with my answer earlier.
"Hmm, that's about it. I'll tell you all about it later."
"Hah, Mom will be angry if she finds out that Bro Sean got hurt again because of a ghost. Especially if she finds out you two went on vacation together." I was stunned to hear that. Aunt Silva will hate me even more if she sees Sean's condition. Considering she blamed me when we had an accident last time, she'll be blaming me again this time, too.
"Ah, Sis Leslie sorry. I do not mean ..."
"It's okay, Sunny. I already know everything," I replied, cutting off Sunny's words, who sounded panicked after realizing she had accidentally said that.
"So you already know that Mom disapproves of your relationship. Hah, even though I like Sis Leslie. Even if you disapprove of your relationship, I will still support you," she chirped, immediately bringing a smile to my lips even though Sunny couldn't see it.
"Oh yes. Sis, I already told you about Bro Sean, who is being treated at the hospital. But my mom was out of town, and she said she'd be back in two days. Because the location of the hospital was very far away, my mother forbade me to go there alone. So we can only go there for two more days. I'm sorry, Sis, but please take care of Bro Sean while we can't get there." I'm unfortunate to hear that Aunt Silva still thinks more about her job than Sean's condition. If she knew about her son's current state, would she still have the heart to ignore him?
"Sis Leslie," said Sunny, which made me shocked.
"Y-yes, calm down. I'll look after Sean and Muggie."
"Oh, Sis Muggie is also being treated there?" Her voice sounded startled.
"Yeah, but Muggie's fine. She doesn't have the slightest injury. It's just that she's still traumatized by what happened at the Mansion," I said, explaining Muggie's current condition.
"Okay, thank you, sis. Yes, I'll hang up the phone first, okay, Sis. Let me know as soon as there is any latest news about Bro Sean's condition."
"Yes, for sure." After that, Sunny hung up the phone.
With Sean's cell phone, I contacted Leyna's parents. I told them everything that happened at the Mansion. I'll tell you everything without hiding anything. They must know the dangers in the Mansion, which currently belongs to their family. Maybe this request sounded impolite, but I firmly asked them to never come to the Mansion again and let it remain closed forever. I spoke at length on the phone with Leyna's parents, and I ended by asking them to come to this hospital immediately.
After my business with Leyna's parents was over, at first, I intended to contact my parents. But I didn't because I didn't want them to worry about me. Moreover, they must make them come to this place, which is too far from the city. My condition is fine so my parents don't need to go here.
Finally, I decided to contact Angie. My request was overdone when I asked Angie to come here. But if I'm with Angie, I can find out what's wrong with Sean.
Angie looked surprised when she heard my story. I told her everything that happened in the Mansion. She was enthusiastic and said she would come to this place soon. That's just how Angie is; she always really cares about me, and I'm lucky to have a friend like Angie. I know it will take hours to wait for Angie to arrive. I felt tired, so I decided to rest in my treatment room.
Five hours to be exact I waited, finally Angie and Mr. Leo came. Angie immediately hugged me when she saw me lying limp on my bed. Not wasting any more time, I also told them about Sean's condition. We rushed to Sean's treatment room after I finished my story.
Arriving at Sean's treatment room, Angie looked at him thoughtfully, who still looked asleep. Angie stared at him silently for a long time. Mr. Leo and I stared at her in surprise without daring to disturb her.
"Leslie, don't you feel any influence on Sean's body?" Angie finally spoke.
"No. I don't feel anything. I'm sure he's not possessed because I don't feel any ghosts in his body," I answered because I didn't feel anything strange about Sean's body.
"Yeah, you're right. He is not affected by ghosts, but he is influenced by other forces." I was shocked to hear that. Mr. Leo also showed the same reaction as me.
"You mean?" I asked Mr. Leo a question I wanted to ask Angie, too.
"I can feel the black aura inside Sean's body. The power of black magic or witchcraft." I covered my mouth, hearing Angie's answer. I could hardly believe what I just heard.
"Wh-why can Sean be influenced by black magic?" I asked with a surprise that still hasn't left me.
"Someone sent it on purpose. I couldn't detect who the culprit was because my strength wasn't at that stage yet. Had I been stronger, I would have been able to detect it. But one thing is certain, that person wished for Sean's death. If you look at Sean's current state, it seems that black magic has been affecting him for quite a long time. But I wonder why Sean got affected by that power so easily?"
I didn't expect someone to do this cruel thing to Sean. So Sean's change in attitude so far was due to the influence of that black magic.
