Sean And Leslie Part 6
After that, one by one, the guests congratulated us. Not a few also asked to take pictures with us, especially our college friends. Leyna and Carl also came, enthusiastically congratulating us. Remember Angie, Mr. Leo and Angelo with them, also congratulated us. Our happiness was even more perfect when I saw Muggie and her parents also came to congratulate us.
Now, everyone is enjoying this party. Many were tasting the dishes we had prepared on purpose, not the least of whom preferred to dance.
"Did I tell you that you look amazing today, Leslie?" Sean whispered, making me cringe and happy to hear it.
"You also look dazzling and admirable. I hope there aren't any women there who feel sorry because she's not the one standing beside you right now," I teased while glancing at the women staring at us. He chuckled upon hearing that.
"I feel that the men there are distraught because they are not the ones standing here with you," he teased me.
"Oh yes. How about we dance, too?" Invite Sean, who instantly made me nervous.
"Hmm, dance, huh? I don't think that's a very good idea."
"Hah, so what?" he asked surprised.
"I'm not good at dancing."
"Do you think I'm good at dancing?"
"Yeah, I know you're not very good at dancing either. We danced once on Angie and Mr. Leo's wedding day. Then why did you ask me to dance?" I'm surprised by Sean. It seems he forced me to dance.
"This is our wedding party when we just stand here watching other people dance," he explained. I realized the truth of what he said, but still, I was reluctant to accept his invitation.
"Can't you see my shoes are so high, what if I fall? That must be so embarrassing." Finally, I told him why I was reluctant to accept his invitation to dance. Sean suddenly looked at my high heels. He chuckled after knowing the source of my worry
"Don't worry, it's me. I won't let you fall."
"What if I step on your foot?" I said, once again explaining my reasons for declining his invitation.
"Hm, it must be excruciating, but I'll ensure you don't step on me. Come on, don't make excuses anymore. After all, this is your husband's first request. How come you don't want to fulfill it?" Finally, I couldn't say anything else. I could only accept his helping hand when he stretched out his hand to me to invite me to walk closer to several couples dancing.
We started dancing—a most ridiculous dance, in my opinion. Why am I saying this? The reason is that our movements contradict the music that is being played right now. The music playing sounds cheerful, disco music that makes people dance happily. As for me and Sean, we made light movements with Sean's hands wrapped around my waist possessively, and I put my hands on his shoulders as if we were dancing to romantic music. I know Sean did this so I wouldn't fall, more so not to step on his feet. He did as he told me earlier. He took care of me so I wouldn't fall. He knows I'm not used to wearing heels this high. At least I'm relieved because my husband is quite considerate of me.
Feeling that everyone was staring at us at this moment, instantly, a feeling of embarrassment spread throughout my body. I also buried my face in Sean's shoulder to avoid their gazes, who seemed to be smiling at us and whispering about us.
Maybe because we saw our dance moves that differed from other couples, the cheerful music was eventually replaced with romantic music. Music coming from playing the piano was heard, and this melodious song I was familiar with sounded familiar. This is Angie's favorite song called Mariage d'Amour or Dreaming Wedding by Richard Clayderman. The same song Mr. Leo played when he proposed to Angie at a restaurant. My curiosity made me lift my head and stare at the piano. I was even more amazed when I saw Mr. Leo playing the piano, along with Angie and Angelo, sitting on a chair beside the piano. Angie smiled and motioned for me to continue my dance with Sean. It was a beautiful gift from them because I also started to like this song. I buried my head in Sean's shoulder to enjoy our dance more. I'm pleased today.
Our wedding reception was long and lively. So many guests were attending that I was tired because I kept standing and receiving their congratulations. I'm sure Sean felt the same way about me. Even so, today was still fun for me. I didn't expect that getting married would be so much fun.
When evening came, the party was over. Sean and I had changed and were getting ready for our honeymoon. Yes, we will leave immediately without waiting for tomorrow because our parents have prepared plane tickets for us. They had prepared a special place for us both. They said we must like that place.
Quite a few people escorted us to the car that would take us to the airport. Just before I got into the car, Angie suddenly approached me. She gave me a gift and whispered in my ear.
"Leslie, make sure you open this gift from me when you're alone. Don't let Sean see it. And make sure you open this present as soon as you arrive at the hotel room," she said, which made me curious.
"Hah, so what?" I asked in surprise.
"You've just obeyed my words. For sure, this gift of mine will help you make your husband happy," she said with a wink in one eye, making me even more surprised and curious to find out the contents of this gift immediately.
I glanced at Sean. He also got a gift from Mr. Leo. If I see the strange look on Sean's face, I think Mr. Leo is mocking him right now.
After that, we both got into the car. Sean's family's driver, who drove this car, took us to the airport. I don't know what kind of place our parents chose for our honeymoon because they didn't tell us beforehand. A surprise, they say. Yes, Sean and I can only surrender to our parents' behavior. Even so, we know they do all this because they love us too much. And we should be grateful for that.
