Evan Part 10
"Your family will accept you again if you sincerely apologize to them," I said, trying to advise Mira.
"No way, I've run away from home. There's no way they'll ever forgive me," she answered with unrelenting sobs.
"There are no parents who do not love their children. They want the best for their children. They couldn't bear to abandon you. You just need to go back to your homes and sincerely apologize to them."
"But they will set me up with a man of their choice. I don't want to marry another man besides Evan." Her crying was getting hysterical, and even I felt her body shaking. I can feel the sadness that Mira is feeling. I would feel the same sadness as Mira if I were in her shoes. I would never want to marry a man I don't love. My gaze suddenly landed on Sean, and I was pretty startled when I realized that Sean was also staring at me.
"Evan is dead. You can't be with him anymore. If I may advise you, I suggest you accept the match. You and Evan are not meant to be. You have to live with it. Your parents must be looking for the best for you and the man they choose. Maybe he is the one destined for you." Sean was the one who said that. I really can't believe what I just heard. But I realized what he said was true. There was no point in continuing to have the desire to be with Evan because, in reality, he was already gone until whenever Mira couldn't be able to live with him.
"But I only love Evan, I can't love another man."
"You haven't even tried it. You try to open your heart to that guy. No matter how much your love for Evan is, in reality, he is not your soul mate. You have to accept this destiny because no human being can escape from her destiny. Time goes on. You also have to live your life. Besides, I'm sure Evan hopes for your happiness. If you love him, at least do something to make his soul rest in peace in nature. So that you know, his spirit still wanders in this world." I haven't said about Evan's spirit still haunting Mira, but I didn't expect Sean to.
"What are you saying? Don't talk carelessly you, there's no way his spirit wanders. How do you know where Haah?!" Mira said with a snap in her voice.
"Why do you think we bothered to come to see you and give you the ring? Why should we even bother meddling with you and Evan, who have nothing to do with us? All of this was because Evan's spirit asked Leslie for help. If you don't believe me, you can ask Leslie." Instantly, Mira stared at me. I was finally able to nod my head.
"That's true what he said. Evan's spirit came to me and he showed me your memories. How do you think I know about you guys when I've never met the two of you before?"
"S-So you can see spirits?" asked Mira a little hesitantly.
"That's it, I'm an indigo. It's up to you to believe it or not, but Evan's spirit is here with us. He keeps looking at you with a sad look on his face." Mira returned the smile. A smile that I can not define.
"I believe in you, Leslie. I see no lies in your eyes. Evan must be worried about me. Then what should I do so that his soul can rest in peace? I don't want the person I love to become a haunting ghost." This time, it was I who smiled. Sean's words succeeded in disturbing Mira's heart and awakening her.
"You have to be happy because that's the only thing that can make Evan feel calm. I agree with what Sean said. You should go back to your house and try to open your heart to another man. If that man is indeed your soul mate, I'm sure you will slowly love him and you will be happy."
"But will my parents forgive me?"
"Certain. There are no parents who do not love their children. We will take you back to your home for your peace of mind. How??" I asked enthusiastically. Mira was just stunned. I could still see the doubt in her eyes.
"Do this for Evan. You have to be happy for him because, for him, you are critical, Mira." Mira finally raised her head, which had only been down before. She smiled again, and I felt incomparable relief when she finally agreed with my and Sean's suggestion.
Sean and I accompanied Mira back to her house. At the same time, Nisa returned to her workplace. After spending about 1 hour, we finally arrived at Mira's house.
At first, Mira's father was furious when he saw Mira's return. But after Mira apologized sincerely, her father's anger disappeared, and he and the rest of his family accepted Mira again. As I thought, there can't be a parent who doesn't love their child. No matter how angry they are, they will eventually forgive their child.
I looked up into the air. Evan's ghost, with his less scary figure, was smiling at me. I smiled back, too. I'm glad that I kept my promise to him to help him. His slowly disappearing figure convinced me he was already resting peacefully in his realm.
I also decided to go home with Sean. There was silence again between us the whole way. I realized there were so many things I wanted to talk to Sean about, and I had decided I wouldn't put it off.
"Sean, can we talk for a minute," I said, looking at Sean, who was focused on driving his car.
"What is it? Just tell me," he replied curtly without looking at me.
"Can we step aside for a moment? There are many things I want to tell you." Sean didn't answer me, but he still complied with my request. He pulled over and stopped the car, and then his gaze fixed on me.
"What is it?" he asked sarcastically. Just by looking at the look in his eyes without hesitation, I said he had indeed changed. Not the Sean I know anymore, but I've decided I will find out why the change.
"Evan and Mira's love story is very similar to ours, huh?" I said, starting the conversation.
"I don't see the slightest resemblance between their stories and ours," he said coldly.
"Your mother doesn't approve of our relationship either."
"I told you, don't mind what that woman says." I just smiled sarcastically at his answer.
"How ironic, huh? Earlier you advised Mira that you and your mother had almost the same problem as her. Why don't you try to mend your relationship with your mother?"
"If it's this insignificant matter that you want to talk to me about, then I don't think we need to talk anymore." Sean was about to drive his car again, but I quickly stopped him.
"I know your mother loves you. No mother doesn't love her child, I believe that."
"What exactly do you want, Leslie? Why are you always bringing this up?!" his voice rose. I could tell he was angry at this time. However, I ignored it. I don't care anymore, even if we have to fight like yesterday.
"I just want to see you make up with your mother. Forgive her, everyone must have made mistakes. Your mother already regretted it therefore you should forgive her. I understand how you feel, you are angry because your mother has betrayed the father you love and respect so much. But she ... no matter how bad she behaves, she is still your mother. Give her a chance to correct her mistake."
"You say you understand my feelings? Don't be ridiculous, Leslie. Your parents are very harmonious. They love each other, and I don't remember you experiencing the events I experienced. So stop talking as if you know all about me. What do I need to tell you? You don't know anything about my feelings. Until whenever you will never understand!!" his face was red with anger, and for the umpteenth time, he snapped at me, saying various sentences that hurt my heart.
"That's why I asked you to tell me your problem so that I would understand you. You've changed, Sean. You're not the Sean I used to know."
"Nothing has changed, I'm still the same. Stop saying nonsense."
"How long do you think we've been together, Sean? I already know your personality and your character. Just by looking at your eyes, I know you don't love me anymore, right?" He gasped at my words. He was just silent, not denouncing my words.
"Did your relationship with your mother deteriorate because of me? Are you unable to make up with your mother because of me? If maintaining our relationship is so hard for you, I don't mind if you."
"SHUT UP!!" he shouted, which made my words cut off.
"There's nothing more for us to talk about." After saying that, he started his car again. I just looked down, and my tears started to flow. I almost said goodbye to him. But I've decided if the parting is the best for us, I'll accept it. I don't want to see him suffer for trying to maintain our relationship.
Sean was driving his car at a reasonably high speed. I could tell he was very emotional right now. I don't even dare to touch him anymore. Finally, we arrived in front of my apartment building.
"Come down," he said, still with a chill in his voice. He didn't even look at me for a second.
"I don't know what made you change, Sean. But I'll always be waiting, waiting for you to tell me. Waiting for you to explain everything to me. Waiting for you to tell me why that turned you this way." I smiled after saying this, even though I don't think Sean saw it because he just stared before him.
I kissed his cheek softly before I got out of his car.
"Bye, Sean." He didn't answer me. I got out of his car. Then he drove back to the car without saying anything to me. I could only stare at the car getting away with the tears already flowing down my face.
