Shane Part 4
My thinking is correct because now I am in a place I have never been to. You can see two men and women sitting on a chair under a shady tree. I widened my eyes when I realized that the seated woman was the very young Sean's mother. I was curious about the two people's conversation and walked over to them.
I was again stunned when up close I saw the man's face. Without a doubt, he was Sean's stepfather. Yes, I am correct.
"David, can't we think about it one more time? I really can't live without you," said Sean's mother with tears in her eyes.
"Excuse me. I can't refuse this match. Our relationship must end." Now Sean's stepfather spoke. After seeing this situation, I'm starting to understand what's going on between them.
"B-but..."
"That's enough. I've said everything I wanted to tell you. I'll go first. Goodbye, goodbye, Silva." Even though Sean's mother or I call her Aunt Silva, begged Sean's stepfather, or I call her Uncle David, so that he would not leave. Uncle David continued to walk steadily, not caring about Aunt Silva's screams.
Everything around me was spinning again. I knew in a moment I would see another sight. I'm experienced so far. I'd guess right. Precisely as I thought, I was now in another place. If you look at the atmosphere, I'm in the middle of a party. But what party is this? My question was answered when I saw an aisle where a pair of bride and groom sat. I walked over to the happy bride and groom. How many times was I wide-eyed when I realized that the bride and groom were Aunt Silva and her husband? Not Uncle David, but I'm sure he is a ghost showing me his memories. So, could he be Sean's father? He is Sean's father; his face and hair resemble Sean's. Even his eyes and nose shape are the same as Sean's. Maybe his lips are different because Sean's lips are more like his mother's. Sean's fair skin resembles his mother's because his father has slightly darker skin. They laughed together, looking in love with each other. I was very moved to see this sight, but I could only exhale lazily when my surroundings returned to spinning.
Other sights, of course, I'm looking at right now. My lips immediately hide a smile when I see the harmony of a family. In a simple but comfortable house, I can see Aunt Silva, Sean's father, laughing with their two children. Little Sean and little Sunny were seen there. They were laughing happily with their parents. They are indeed a happy family. I can feel it just by looking at their smiles.
I still want to see the happiness of that family when, once again, I have to surrender when another replaces this view. I'm in a room right now. Two men are in this room with their backs to me.
"Sean, what are your plans for your future?"
"I want to be a lawyer like you, Dad." The two people turned out to be Sean's father and Sean, who still looked very young. Maybe he's still in middle school. Sean's face at this time was full of happiness and joy, very much different from Sean's face now, which sometimes looked gloomy and cold. Often, I catch sadness and loneliness in his eyes, but Sean, who is standing in front of me, is very different from the Sean I know. His face was radiant and full of smiles. His eyes were full of love and affection. There was no sadness or gloom in them. From his voice, I could hear his burning passion. I'm so fascinated to see Sean's figure.
"You will have to work hard then. But you can do it. I believe in you because you are my father's pride." Sean's father put his hands on Sean's shoulders. It was clear how close the relationship between them was. My surroundings went round and round again, and suddenly, the scenery before me changed again.
I gasped when I saw a pair of women and men hugging intimately. What made me cringe was the fact that I saw this. They are Aunt Silva and Uncle David. What happened? Shouldn't Aunt Silva be married to Sean's father, but why is she hugging Uncle David? Could they be having an affair? I guessed right when I saw Sean's father stomping towards them, who were embracing it.
"Silva, what are you doing?!" shouted Sean's father after he forcibly pulled Aunt Silva from Uncle David's arms.
"Shane, why are you here?"
"I always ignore my friends who tell you this affair. Do you know why? It's because I trust you. But I realize your behavior has been getting weirder lately, and I finally realized how stupid I was for trusting you more than my friends. I love you very much, Silva, but how could you do this to me? Why do you have the heart to stab me like this?!" Sean's father, whom I just found out, named Uncle Shane, looks angry. Of course, everyone will be angry if they catch their partner having an affair. I have never felt it and hope I will never feel betrayed, but I can understand Uncle Shane's heartache right now.
"And you, how dare you to approach my wife!!" Uncle Shane shouted at Uncle David, who only responded with a mocking smile from Uncle David.
"Just so you know, long before you appeared, Silva was mine. I don't feel like seducing or stealing other people's wives, I'm just taking back something that is rightfully mine."
Uncle Shane's repeated punches hit Uncle David's face, causing blood to come from the corner of Uncle David's lips. But Uncle David did not remain silent. He hit Uncle Shane back so that the fight between them was inevitable.
"STOP IT, BOTH OF YOU!!" shouted Aunt Silva, who finally stopped the fight. However, I was very disappointed when I witnessed Aunt Silva caring more about Uncle David than Uncle Shane, who is none other than her legal husband.
"Why did you hit David?"
"So you're defending him more?"
"Yes, I love and want to be with him. Shane, I want us to divorce." Uncle Shane was only stunned to hear Aunt Silva's words. I don't understand Aunt Silva's way of thinking at all. How could she choose this path as if she had forgotten her happiness with her husband and two children?
"So you prefer it? I don't want this separation but I also don't want to force you to stay with me if you are not happy with me. I love you very much Silva and for me, your happiness is most important. Even for your happiness, I have to disappear from your heart and life. You will soon get what you want it. I'll take care of our divorce papers myself." Uncle Shane left them, and I was disappointed to see Aunt Silva and Uncle David together, so I chose to follow Uncle Shane.
I followed Uncle Shane into his car. Along the way, I saw tears flowing from Uncle Shane's charming eyes to me. I can feel his sadness and his pain. Then, from the opposite direction, I saw a car speeding out of its way and approaching Uncle Shane's car.
"Watch out, uncle!!" I shouted, which was impossible for Uncle Shane to hear. Everything happened fast. I don't know what happened because my surroundings started spinning again.
My confusion was answered when I was in another place. In a business, that made me understand everything that happened after the incident in the car earlier. I was at the public cemetery area. Many people here witnessed the funeral of someone. I can guess who it was wildly when Sean cried hysterically near the grave. I must have been at Uncle Shane's funeral right now, so the accident happened and took Uncle Shane's life.
My tears flowed by themselves when I saw Sean crying with Sunny in his arms. As for Aunt Silva, I was even more disappointed when I saw her standing without comforting her two crying children. She just stood beside Uncle David. I'm annoyed to see this sad atmosphere. I can't stand watching Sean and Sunny's pitiful cries, mourning their father's departure forever. I wish I could get out of here soon. I wouldn't say I like this sight I'm seeing.
Luckily, my wish came true when I moved to another scene.
"David, how long are we going to be like this? When are you going to divorce your wife?" I looked for the source of the voice and found it when I turned my head behind me. Aunt Silva was seen talking in a room with Uncle David.
"I told you I would never divorce my wife. Since the beginning I have said if you want me to marry you then you must be willing to be my second wife. You agreed at that time, right? So stop whining and asking me to divorce my first wife."
"So forever I will only be your second wife?" Aunt Silva asked with sobs that began to be heard.
"Yes, that's it," Uncle David said casually, without guilt.
"At least we go home often. Sean was starting to get suspicious of our relationship. My children also need a father's love."
"Hahaha… bullshit. After all, your two children never accepted me as their father. Especially that son of yours, his gaze is always hostile towards me. The way he talks to me is also very annoying as if he hates me."
"No. How could Sean hate you? He didn't even forbid or refuse when we got married first. He just needs a father figure and you're rarely home that's why he…"
"That's enough. I don't want to talk about this anymore. You know I'm tired. Let me rest. You are just as annoying as that son of yours!!" shouted Uncle David, and after that, he walked away, leaving Aunt Silva.
Aunt Silva sobbed alone. She walked over to a table and took something from the table drawer. I approached her, wanting to see the object she was staring at with great sadness. It was a photograph, a photo of her wedding with Uncle Shane.
"Shane, I'm sorry. I have made a mistake. I should have never left you and preferred him. Can you please come back? Come back I beg you, I need you. Hiks... hiks..."
Regret always comes too late. I'm even more sure after seeing Aunt Silva's figure before me. She wept bitterly, regretting that the rice had become mush. Even if she shed tears of blood, time could never be turned back.
