73.3- Fairy
"Hey."
"Hey-" She was about to greet but my victim screamed.
"What was that? Did someone scream?" She asked hastily, worriedly. Glaring at them to stop, I walked out from the basement quickly.
"Yeah, I was watching a movie. Leave it, you tell me. How are you?" I asked sweetly, going back to my office.
"I am fine but did I disturb you? It's alright, we can talk after the movie." She asked nervously.
"No. No, I was free. Got nothing to do." I hummed, taking a seat.
"If you say so." Trailing off, we began to talk for a while… a lot while.
I lost track of time, I didn't know how time passed while I talked with her. Words came out of their own, talks were created without being aware of it and a while turned into hours.
"Boss? Are you still on call? It's midnight. Aren't you going home?" Dave called, taken aback to find me still on call. Before I could stop Dave Eileen gasped.
"You were at work?! I thought you were at home and watching a movie. I am so sorry, Sebastian, I didn't mean to bother you-" She almost panicked in worry to disturb me at home but I called her sternly.
"Eileen."
Inhaling deeply, I glared at Dave, rising from my seat, speaking sincerely, "Call me whenever you want."
"I think you should go home and sleep. It's late." She mumbled sadly. Still believing she disturbed me.
Sighing, I began to take my stuff. Gesturing to Dave to leave me alone.
"You know? I have never talked with anyone for that long in my entire life." I chuckled slightly, taking my stuff to leave.
"Really?" Her voice glowed again.
'Really, Maybe it's your voice." I hummed… and we talked again.
"Okay, okay, for the final time. You should sleep now and go home." Giggled, Eileen called again. I looked at the time, It was 1AM.
"Go home? I have already reached home." I laughed a little.
"Then sleep now. Bye." Giggling, she was about to cut the call but I called her sweetly.
"Listen."
"Hmm?"
I asked what I wanted to hear badly for a while now, "Call my name."
With a husky chuckle, she said temptingly, "Good night, Sebastian." Resting my hand over my heart, I loved how my name escaped her lips.
Closing my eyes, I spoke in-depthly as well, "Good night, Eileen."
From that moment onwards, we talked frequently. I tried to cut them short but one way or another, they elongated to an hour or so. On weekends, the whole day.
It happened on its own. I wanted it to stop but couldn't. I rarely got to see her. Have an official meeting where there would be no limit, where I could hold her but it was far from my reach at the moment.
Months passed, our time to get married came near. I turned thirty two. Our marriage was close. Delighting me, finally the moment to trap my prey was coming closer.
One day, Eileen wanted to learn how to cook my favorite dish but while cutting the vegetables, the woman dropped the knife and it stabbed right through her foot.
'What happened? Are you okay? Is it hurting too much?" I asked softly, pacing around the basement, panicking while she kept crying.
'Yes. Someone make it stop. I hate pain, it hurts so much." She continued to sob.
It was one stab, for someone who had witnessed a state much for than this one, I didn't know what to say.
'At least stop crying, you are making me worry now." I sighed, rubbing my temples.
'Worry." Ruben chuckled from behind. I glared at him and rushed to my office to have some privacy while talking to my fiancée.
'It's hurting, Sebastian." She cried, the sound of it pissed me off.
That was the moment I realized her pain tolerance was lower than my expectations. That was why I didn't hurt her physically, she couldn't bear it.
What was the point of it if she would scream before I could actually do anything? She couldn't bear it. Physical pain would end her too easily and all my months of waiting would go to waste.
What a disappointment.
'Eileen, Don't cry. It will fade." I sighed in frustration, rubbing my temples, hearing her sob for the past ten minutes, repeating the same thing.
She was infuriating me now for one sting.
'I am sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. But, Please don't cut the call. Help me divert my mind." She sniffled, muffling the wail thankfully.
Humming, I kept a stoic face, 'You should have watched it."
'I did. I didn't know how it slipped." She reasoned.
'That's it, you are not going into the kitchen without supervision again." I ordered, not wanting her to get hurt again for trying to do something which won't impress me in the first place.
'Hey, It was an accident." She argued.
'Oh, really? Don't bother, woman. I have cooks." I smirked, pissing her off deliberately.
'Okay, I might be good as them but it won't be inedible at least." She frowned, pissed off.
'Actually you know what? I would eat poison if you made it for me." Sighing, I said to lift her mood which worked instantly. In these months, I knew what to say to make her delighted.
Her mind diverted, focused on my talks than the pain on her foot, talking to me and before we both realized, It was too late.
I was laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling talking to her without caring about time or exhaustion.
'Thank you, Sebastian for hearing my useless blattering. For bearing with a brat like me. But, It's getting late. I don't think I should keep you up so late. You have work tomorrow too." She whispered sweetly.
"What if I want you to keep me awake?" I asked, closing my eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"I often get nightmares and insomnia. So I couldn't sleep properly in the first place."
She laughed a little, making a proclamation which I didn't trust at first, "Don't worry, when I come, I will take away all these nightmares."
"You think you can?" I asked, amused.
"I believe I will." She enunciated.
Chuckling, I let her spout nonsense, I believed it was impossible to bring me back to the brink of humanity anymore. I knew I was incurable.
Yet… yet those words escape from my lips on their own.
'Then I will wait for the day you will become my bride."
'It would be the best of my life. I can feel it." She giggled but it only made me smirk sinfully.
Eileen Lior's fairytale was going to shatter the day she would marry me because that was when true horror would start.
With darkness surrounding me, concealing my intentions of trapping my fairy to fulfill my deepest desire, I enunciated as well- but in an entirely different sense.
'Mine too."
