49. Outrageous!
The guards followed Luna Viviana to her husband's office.
She looked at them annoyed. "Even here, you are still following me?" she snarled.
"We are sorry, Luna Viviana, we are just following Alpha Callum's order," one of the guards apologized and opened the door wide.
She entered the room and saw her husband sitting at his desk, having a discussion with his beta.
Alpha Callum looked at his wife and sighed. "Is there any problem?" he asked.
Beta Amir returned to his desk and pretended to be busy reviewing reports sent to him by his subordinates.
Luna Viviana sat on the chair facing her husband. "I will agree to the divorce but on several conditions," she said calmly.
Eavesdropping, Beta Amir secretly glanced at the couple, taken by surprise at the headstrong Luna's decision. He expected she wouldn't agree to a divorce in this lifetime.
His wife's statement quickly piqued Alpha Callum's attention. "Go on, tell me your demands."
Luna Viviana placed her notes in front of him. "These are my demands..."
Alpha Callum skimmed through the notes, his mouth twitched. He read the list aloud. "The divorce settlements are as follows. I must receive $100 million in my bank account as compensation. You must buy me a beach house of my choice, and it must be in my name. And you must give me a $300K allowance per month for the rest of my life."
Beta Amir's eyes almost fell from their sockets due to the outrageous demands made by Luna Viviana. He looked at the Alpha's expression, expecting he would instantly reject his wife's epic demands.
Instead, what he heard shocked him.
Alpha Callum nodded his head, no objection at all. "Alright, I agree with all your demands. I'll have my attorney draft the agreement for settlement. I'll have you sign the documents after it's done," he said calmly.
Luna Viviana smiled bitterly. "You really love her. You are willing to pay me a huge settlement so you have the freedom to be with her. I hope you don't regret it one day," she said in a tone filled with bitterness. "By the way, I'm going out tomorrow. Mia and I will check out 6 beachfront properties, so I can buy my own home. I will raise our child in that house, so the property must be superb. After I leave this place, you are free to bring your mistress and your son here..."
"Anything else?" Alpha Callum asked indifferently.
Luna Viviana was hurt by the cold way her husband treated her, as if she was a stranger in his eyes. "That's all. I'm done here." She rose to her feet, walked to the door and left the room.
The moment Luna Viviana was gone from the room, Beta Amir sprang from his seat and rushed to Alpha Callum's desk. "Alpha, pardon my manners, but what the hell does she think of herself? She demanded so much money from you, Alpha. And do you tolerate her? Our pack will go bankrupt if you empty the pack's coffer!" he blurted in protest. He just can't stay silent about the way things are going. Luna Viviana must be stopped! Her demands are simply outrageous.
Alpha Callum silenced his Beta with a death stare. "Who says I will get the money from the pack's copper? And who says I will give her $100 million right away? I can do it in installments. Besides, I have my own money," he elaborated further.
Damn! Beta Amir was ashamed of his outburst. "I'm sorry for my intrusion, Alpha. Please forgive me," he apologized.
"Next time, don't open your mouth rashly if you have nothing good to say," Alpha Callum scolded his assistant.
Beta Amir hung his head in shame. "I'm so sorry Alpha, please punish me."
Alpha Callum sighed. "Call our lawyer. Tell him we are coming to his office today to make the draft of the divorce settlement agreement," he ordered.
"Copy, Alpha." Beta Amir went back to his desk and made a call to the lawyer.
Meanwhile...
Luna Viviana entered her room, wearing a gloomy expression on her face.
"What happened?" Mia rushed to her side. "Your husband rejected your demands?"
Luna Viviana nodded her head and sat on the bed. "On the contrary, he agreed to all my demands on the list," she replied sadly, her eyes welled up. "He would rather pay me hugely so he could get rid of me. He really loves that woman! And I'm hurting so badly right now," she hissed between tears.
Mia sighed and rubbed her friend's back. "Shh, don't be angry now. Just be happy and content that he accepts all your demands. That's his way of securing a good future for you and your child. Other women can't even make a cent after divorcing their useless husbands. You are lucky, you will end up very wealthy after the divorce."
Luna Viviana's face contorted in bitterness and anger. "But it still hurts so badly! I thought I was brave enough to face it all. However, I'm feeling so down right now. He didn't even flinch when he read my outrageous demands. He is willing to lose so much money just to be with his mistress! And I hate that woman even more!" She wept hard, filling the room with her whining and lamentation.
"Cry all you want, I'm here to stay by your side. I will sleep here so you have company all night. Tomorrow we will check beachfront properties so you can finally buy your dream house. Starting again all by yourself is the hardest thing to do. But you will eventually learn to get used to your new normal as the days go by. You will be fine because you have your baby with you," Mia said in a gentle, soothing voice.
Luna Viviana cried harder as weakness took over. She was just trying to put on a brave face earlier, but it didn't last long. And now the floodgates of sorrow and pain have opened up, swallowing her whole.
Two hours later, Luna Viviana fell asleep on the bed. Mia called her husband and informed him that she couldn't be home tonight, but she would return home tomorrow evening. Her husband understood the situation and didn't make a fuss about the situation.
Mia lay down on the bed and closed her eyes to sleep, joining her best friend in dreamland.
Outside the mansion...
Alpha Callum and Beta Amir can be seen leaving the mansion, boarding the vehicle, and heading to HRL Law Office. When they arrived at their location, Attorney John Smith was already waiting for them in his office.
Alpha Callum discussed his wife's epic demand with his lawyer. Their discussion lasted for more than an hour.
After they finished discussing the divorce settlement agreement, Alpha Callum and Beta Amir left the lawyer's office and returned to their car.
Inside the vehicle.
"You go home now. I will go to the farm to see grandpa, then I will visit Clarice and my son in the rental house," Alpha Callum ordered.
"Copy Alpha," Beta Amir replied with a nod of his head.
Alpha Callum teleported into the farm house.
When he arrived there, Grandpa Eliezer was outside the house, relaxing, sitting under the shade of the tree. "Pops, wazz up? How's everything going here?" he asked.
"Everything is fine here," Grandpa Eliezer replied with a smile.
"How about the couple? How are they?" Alpha Callum asked.
"They're doing fine, a hard-working couple. I like them. The couple went to the lake to fish," Grandpa Eliezer responded with a smile.
"Good to hear that," Alpha Callum said.
"So, how's your wife?" Grandpa Eliezer inquired.
"She finally agreed to the divorce, but she has many demands," Alpha Callum said, scratching his head.
"Really? Wow! I didn't expect that she would give up so soon. I thought she would give you a hard time," Grandpa gushed in astonishment and disbelief.
"I'm shocked too, but in a good way," Alpha Callum grinned.
"So what are her demands? Let me hear them," Grandpa Eliezer asked curiously.
Alpha Callum sighed heavily. His grandfather would surely raise a brow after hearing his wife's huge demands. "She wants a $100 million divorce settlement, a house and lot near the beach and a $300K monthly allowance for her and our baby that she will receive for life."
"What the hell? Such a huge amount of money!" Grandpa Eliezer blurted in shock, stunned by the mind-blowing divorce settlement that Luna Viviana wanted from her husband.
"What do you think of Viviana's demands, Pop?" Alpha Callum asked.
Grandpa Eliezer shrugged. "For your peace of mind and happiness just give your wife what she wants," he said casually.
"Thank you for your support, Pops." Alpha Callum smiled gratefully.
"How many gold bars do you want this time, son?" Grandpa Eliezer asked.
"Five or 6 gold bars will be enough I think," Alpha Callum replied.
"Alright, let's go now to the secret place and get the gold bars," Grandpa Eliezer said, standing up.
"Let's go!" Alpha Callum said energetically.
A few minutes later, the two men vanished without a trace.
