66. New Prospect
After a short journey, Aurelia and Kaspar arrived at Alpha Bruce Mansion safely.
"I can't believe that woman made us wait for almost one hour. How dare she?" Aurelia grumbled furiously, exiting the car, slamming the door.
"It's all your fault," Kaspar said casually.
"Why is it my fault?" Aurelia glared at him.
"Because if we didn't go there we wouldn't get that cold treatment," Kaspar replied.
Aurelia sneered. "That woman will pay for snubbing me many times!" she growled. The veins in her neck were popping up and about to explode.
Kaspar shook his head and sighed. "Calm down. You look like you are Godzilla right now. To avoid being snubbed again, stop begging for her attention. Charice might think you are desperate for her company and friendship. In her letter, she has already refused your invitation to the Luna Association and yet you are not satisfied. You still went to her house and insisted on talking to her. It's clear harassment and stalking," he said, walking to the main door of the mansion.
Aurelia was furious, nostrils flaring in annoyance. She couldn't believe that a Luna from another pack would snub her and not respect her authority. It's a hard pill to swallow for her high and mighty ego.
She entered the elaborate door, catching up with Kaspar. "I'm going to the former Luna Viviana's residence to talk to her. I want to know if she has already seen the face of her ex-husband's mistress. I want to know if Charice is Clarice, period!" she said stubbornly. Her eyes flashed with unwavering determination while climbing the stairs.
Kaspar rolled his eyes. "Are you not tired at all? You are still obsessed with Charice. When will you stop investigating the identity of Alpha Callum's wife? This time, if you continue this madness of yours it could be our downfall," he warned her.
"Shut up, Kaspar!" Aurelia said, annoyed by his cowardice. "Will you go with me to see Viviana?" she asked.
Kaspar shook his head. "No. I'm not going to tolerate your craziness and obsession with Charice. I would rather stay in my room and enjoy chatting with my toy boys online," he said, not planning to go anywhere today.
"Fine! I will go alone to meet Viviana," Aurelia said in an irate tone.
"Do you know where she lives right now?" Kaspar asked.
"Of course I know. I hired someone to track her whereabouts. She currently lives in a cozy house near the beach. Since you have already abandoned me, I will find a new partner in crime!" Aurelia huffed furiously, walking towards her room to plan her next move.
"Good luck!" Kaspar said and went in the direction of his room.
Aurelia entered the master bedroom and dropped her bag on the sofa. She still couldn't get over her anger that Charice snubbed her. She knew deep inside that the woman was not suffering from a migraine, she was intentionally avoiding her.
She lay down on the bed and got busy browsing her phone. She had stalked Viviana's social media accounts and had already sent her a friend request five days ago.
To make sure she had high chances of being accepted, she presented herself as the wife of Alpha Bruce and Luna of the Bloodhounds Pack and the current Chairwoman of the Luna Association Incorporated.
She was ecstatic when Viviana accepted her friend's request. Finally!
She sent her a private message expressing her desire to chat with her and become friends with her.
To arouse Viviana's curiosity, she wrote a message indicating that she had suspicions about her ex-husband's wife, that she knew the history of that woman, and she couldn't be trusted.
She waited for Viviana's reply.
Nothing...
The woman is probably not online yet.
She put her phone on the bedside table, went to the closet and took a pair of clothes and changed her attire. All her dressing up to impress was wasted.
It was just a charade that Charice was suffering from a migraine when they arrived. She thinks Charice was afraid to face them because she and Kaspar might discover her secret and her disguise.
She was more convinced now that Clarice was Charice. She can't be wrong about her suspicions!
She entered the bathroom and soaked herself in the bathtub sprinkled with lavender essential oil. After half an hour of relaxing, she took a shower and emerged from the bathroom door feeling refreshed and energized.
After drying her hair, she picked up her phone and checked her messages. She squealed in delight when she finally received a message from Viviana. Wow! She finally responded after a long wait.
She quickly engaged her in a chat.
Viviana: Hello!
Aurelia: Hello dear, thank you for replying to my messages.
Viviana: No problem, how are you?
Aurelia: I'm fine, dear. I hope you are too.
Viviana: You mentioned my ex-husband's wife. Do you know about her past and true identity?
Aurelia: Yeah, sort of...
Viviana: What did you know about her? Why should I care?
Aurelia: Because I'm sure you haven't gotten over losing your husband to a homewrecker. Am I right? I'm sure you are still crying in your bed alone at night thinking about your beloved husband. You still can't get over the pain, right? There is a certain part of you that still can't let go of your husband, and you wish you didn't let him go, and you didn't give up on him too soon. There are times you want revenge and want to kill his mistress. Am I correct?
Viviana didn't reply.
For a moment, Aurelia was worried that she had offended Viviana and she would block her.
Damn! Did she write something offensive to her?
She re-read the message she wrote. Maybe she went a bit too far when she mentioned the pain Viviana had to deal with when her husband betrayed her and divorced her in favor of his mistress.
Maybe she hit a raw nerve, which is why Viviana was no longer responding to her messages.
Fifteen minutes passed, and still no reply from Viviana.
Her waiting made her restless.
Dammit! She screwed up the golden opportunity to befriend a person that could help her identify if Charice and Clarice are the same person. Such a bummer.
Dang!
She went aggressive too early in their first chat. She should have discussed their favorite hobbies, favorite food, recipes for dishes and so on to make Viviana feel at ease and establish their friendship before she discussed sensitive and emotionally draining topics with her.
Sigh, she went too far indeed! She ruined the chance of befriending Viviana! Now she was no longer responding to her message and she had already anticipated Viviana's next move, she would definitely block her.
Grrr! She was furious and annoyed with herself.
She checked her phone. Viviana was still not responding.
"Come on! Come back girl!" she said aloud in frustration. If she can turn back time, she will definitely change the course of their chat.
She was about to give up... but she checked her phone one last time.
Voila! Viviana responded at last!
She shakes her booty with happiness.
She quickly responded to Viviana.
Viviana: Hello, are you still there?
Aurelia: Yes, I'm still here, waiting for you to reply... what happened?
Viviana: Sorry for the long wait, my maid asked me something and I needed to give her a long explanation.
Aurelia: It's okay, no problem. Um, can we meet somewhere? In a café perhaps... so we could talk for hours? Please?
Viviana: Sure, no problem. Why don't you come here to my house tomorrow? I will give you my address.
Aurelia: That would be awesome!
The two women chatted for half an hour more and then finally bid farewell to each other.
Aurelia was ecstatic. She couldn't believe it was finally happening.
Tomorrow, she will finally know if her suspicion is right that Charice is Clarice.
She can hardly wait for tomorrow to come.
