106. Result Is Out!
The core suddenly flashed a bright red light, indicating it liked Clarice's blood.
Demetria smiled broadly, pleased with the result. She decided to wake Clarice up so she could see the positive results with her own eyes. She placed her hand on Clarice's head.
Clarice opened her eyes and blinked several times. She looked at Demetria and asked, "Is it over? Did I pass the test?" she asked anxiously.
"Yes, you passed the test with flying colors! See the core, it is currently flashing a red light!" Demetria answered jubilantly.
Clarice looked up at the diamond and saw the flashing of red lights. Her heart rejoiced. Tears of happiness filled her eyes. "Thank you so much!" she said, crying silently. Her homecoming is getting closer now that she has passed the test. She will do anything to master her training quickly. She can't wait to go home.
The thought of going home filled her mind with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
She got down from the table and looked at Demetria. "What's next? I want training to happen soon so I can visit my family to let them know I'm still alive," she asked enthusiastically.
Demetria responded, "You will need to rest first because the core took some of your blood today. Let's discuss the next step outside the room."
Demetria walked to the door.
Clarice looked up at the diamond. She murmured, "Thank you for accepting my blood. It means so much to me," she said gratefully, turning around, walking towards the door and exiting.
Outside the door, Clarice asked excitedly, "What's next?"
"I will take you to another room. I will show you something. Follow me," Demetria said casually.
They enter the next room and Clarice is shocked to see the amount of treasure inside the room. There are gold nuggets, gold bars and precious gold jewelry everywhere. The wooden crates were filled with gold nuggets lined up on the floor.
"Why are there so many treasures in this room?" Clarice asked, mind-blown.
"As the next guardian of this sacred place, you will inherit these treasures from me. At my destination, I don't need these treasures anymore. All of these will be yours soon. You will never run out of money. This is your reward for being a guardian of this place," Demetria explained.
Clarice was shaking her head in utter disbelief. "I don't know what to say..." she said, flabbergasted.
They stayed in the treasure room for a few minutes, admiring the precious jewelry.
Half an hour later, they left the room and went to the first floor.
"You can eat your meal if you are hungry, or you can rest in your room. Do whatever you want," Demetria said.
"When is my transformation going to happen?" Clarice asked in a serious tone.
Demetria responded, "Probably tonight if I come home early. I have some errands to do in the city. If I come home late, let's do it tomorrow night in the full moon."
"OK. I'm going to rest in my room first. I suddenly felt sleepy," Clarice said, and walked in the direction of her room.
"Are you feeling dizzy?" Demetria asked, knowing the core drank Clarice's blood a few minutes ago.
"Yeah, a bit dizzy. It's nothing. I will just sleep for a few hours, and I'll feel better afterward," Clarice answered.
"Don't forget to take the pill so you can regain the blood you lost fast," Demetria reminded her.
"Copy." Clarice nodded her head and entered her room.
Demetria returned to the 3rd floor to get something from her room before teleporting to her house on the outskirts of the city.
She entered her room, sat on the chair beside the bed and looked at the window. She fell into deep thoughts.
She felt immense relief when Clarice finally showed her willingness to become her successor. However, she hadn't told her yet that being her successor she would also handle the biggest vampire association in the whole country and become their leader.
The vampire men and women under her will go crazy with jealousy and rage once she finally announces to them that she is retiring, and they will have a new leader soon. The thing they would hate the most is having a werewolf leader in their midst.
That's not acceptable to them!
That's where the problem lies.
She could easily appoint one of her trusted subordinates to be the next guardian of this sacred place since they are all qualified. However, they are also highly ambitious. Sooner or later, they will destroy this place, releasing the vampire beast and the world will never be the same again.
She can't trust them all.
But she fully trusted Clarice because she had a good heart. The core is also a good judge of character.
The core wouldn't approve of Clarice as the new successor if it didn't see the goodness of her heart and soul.
She knew Clarice would take her guardianship role seriously.
As for the other vampires she knew, she couldn't fully trust them.
After thinking hard about her dilemma, a brilliant idea popped into her mind.
There is another way to solve her problem.
She will appoint a new leader for the vampire association. This way, Clarice doesn't have to worry about other things and focuses on one thing, guarding this place!
Besides, Clarice will have a hard time getting the respect she deserves from the vampire community because they will be able to detect her wolf scent, and they will rebel because they won't tolerate having a she-wolf as their leader.
Problem solved!
She will appoint a new leader of the Vampire Association soon.
After reaching a decision, Demetria teleports to the city to visit the vampire headquarters and begins her meticulous evaluation of the eligible candidates and appoints a new leader.
Meanwhile...
Clarice can be seen lying on the bed after taking the pill that can restore the blood she just lost earlier.
She stared at the ceiling of her room, smiling brightly.
After she completes her training, she will be able to visit her family. She will explain to her husband everything she's been through after she was thrown by Kaspar into the sea. She is confident he will still accept her despite her new persona.
She will explain to her husband that she has no other choice. Agreeing to her vampire transformation and accepting the huge responsibility as guardian of the sacred house is the only way to survive her ordeal and return home alive.
She misses her husband so much! She misses her son the most.
She misses Grandpa Eliezer, her cousin and the farm.
Tears of longing fill her eyes. She is desperate to be reunited with her family at the soonest possible time.
She will try to speed up her training so she can finally go home.
