46. No Way!
A car arrives at Alpha Callum's mansion.
A blonde woman in her early 30s exited the car. She walked to the guard, "Guard, can I see my best friend, Luna Viviana?"
"Good morning, ma'am. I'll ask Alpha Callum's permission first," he said, and talked to his radio connected to Alpha's office.
A few minutes later, the guard got an answer. "You are allowed to enter the mansion, ma'am," he said, and opened the iron gate of the mansion.
Mia smiled. "Thank you." She walked to the entrance of the mansion and was greeted by a servant. "Good morning, ma'am. I'll take you to Luna's room. Please follow me."
"Thank you," Mia said, observing the place closely. She's been to the mansion several times in the past, but it's the first time she will study the layout of the house just in case her best friend needs help escaping the mansion. Luna Viviana was currently held inside the master bedroom guarded by people assigned by her husband.
It looks like there will be lots of trouble happening in paradise.
They arrived in the master bedroom.
The guards opened the door and Mia stepped inside. She saw Luna Viviana lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, wearing a blank expression on her face. "I'm here," she announced her presence in the room.
Luna Viviana looked at her best friend. Her eyes were swollen with tears. "I'm glad you're finally here."
Mia rushed to bed. "Why are you saying nonsense things in your message?" she asked worriedly. "The look on your face scares me. Have you forgotten that you are pregnant with a child? If you continue to behave like this you will lose the baby."
"But my husband doesn't need me anymore! He wants to divorce me so he can be with his ex and their son. Should I just let them be? Should I just accept the divorce and move on with my life?" Luna Viviana whined between tears.
Mia took a deep breath. "It's clear to me that your husband no longer loves you. He already knows that you are pregnant, he should be happy, but despite the good news, he still wants to divorce you because he wants to be with his ex and his son. To be honest, it's a losing battle. What's the purpose of being married to a guy whose heart already belongs to someone else? Here's my advice for you: just accept the divorce and move on with your life."
"Easy for you to say that, because you were never in my shoes," Luna Viviana said bitterly.
Mia sighed. Her best friend is heartbroken right now. She must be extra patient in dealing with her outburst. Luna Viviana is the most stubborn person she has ever met in her entire life. She is the type of person who doesn't accept reasons and common sense. She always gets what she wants by hook or crook.
Mia rubbed her friend's arms gently, comforting her. "The pain of betrayal will last for a few months. Afterward, time will start healing the wounds in your heart. Just set your husband free, then move on so you can have peace of mind, and you can raise your unborn child in a peaceful environment, free from negativity."
Luna Viviana shook her head vehemently. "No! That's impossible! I can't do that. My husband is my life. The pack is my life. I am their Luna. I don't want to be alone. If I give up everything... that woman will take away all I have, my husband and my position as Luna of our pack. I got nothing in my name! Can't you see all the things I have to give up?"
Mia was speechless for a moment. It's indeed extremely difficult for her best friend to give up all the good things she enjoys in life.
Luna Viviana gritted her teeth in anger, her eyes flashing with rage. "I have to find my husband's mistress and kill her, so I can have my husband's love again. If only she didn't come back into my husband's life, my life would not turn out like this. I hate her. I hate that woman so much!"
Mia took a deep breath. "That's true, you have to give up a lot, but you will never be alone. You have a growing child in your womb. Stop living for others. Start living for your baby. Focus all your time and energy on your unborn child. Don't let negative things bring you down and turn you into a vengeful person. There's so much more in life to explore and enjoy than being holed up in a crumbling marriage. You have to move on for your baby's sake."
Luna Viviana ignored her best friend's preaching and continued her insane discontent rumblings. "The moment I have that woman cornered, I will cut off her head from her body, chop her body into tiny pieces and feed her to the wild dogs!" she said resentfully, her eyes livid with anger and hostility.
"Whaaaat? Are you crazy?" Mia's eyes widened in shock and horror upon seeing the severity of hatred in Luna Viviana's eyes. What she's seeing now is no longer her best friend. She was replaced by a deranged woman whose heart is filled with hate and vengeance. She suddenly felt afraid of what her best friend would do next. She could only hope Viviana would listen to the reasons and advice she was trying to drill into her stubborn mind.
"The pain that woman gives me I will return it to her tenfold!" Luna Viviana shouted, her eyes blazing with fury.
Mia took a deep breath. "No. You can't continue to think that way. You have to dispel hatred from your system. Hate will eat you alive. It will fill your mind with negative thoughts, making you suicidal or psychotic. You can't kill people just because you are mad and jealous. It doesn't work like that. The Moon Goddess will punish you for harboring such dark thoughts," she reminded her.
Luna Viviana shook her head, looking irate as ever. "To hell with the Moon Goddess! If she truly existed, why did she allow my husband's ex to resurface and create havoc in my marriage? She lost my respect when she allowed my husband and that woman to meet and reunite after a long time of separation. The Moon Goddess just wants to ridicule me and mock me. She is a false god! I will put all matters in my hands from now on. I will kill anyone who takes away my husband and my throne as the Luna of my pack!" she declared indignantly, her voice spitting venom.
Mia can only shake her head in sadness and despair as her best friend doesn't listen to her anymore. It's clear now that Viviana invited her to come to her house, so someone could listen to her grumblings and evil plans.
Mia decided to keep her mouth shut and just opted to listen to Viviana's grumblings, allowing her friend to release her pent-up emotions freely. Deep inside, she hopes Viviana will mellow down after the pain subsides.
After a few hours of nonstop whining and complaining about the unfairness of her situation, Luna Viviana finally stopped and looked at her friend. "Why did you stop talking?" she asked.
Mia smiled. "So you can talk nonstop and when your anger finally subsides you will finally listen to my words."
Luna Viviana sighed heavily. "So what can you say to me now?"
Mia cleared her throat. "In your current situation, you only have two choices. The first choice is to let go of your husband, accept the divorce and move on. The second choice is you will continue feeling angry every day, your baby will suffer in your tummy, and worse, you will have a miscarriage. Then you will kill the mistress, and then you will also end up being killed by your husband because you killed his fated mate. So, what do you really want for yourself? The easy way or the hard way?"
Luna Viviana fell silent, allowing her friend's words to sink into her thick skull.
"Please choose wisely before you do something stupid that you will regret for the rest of your life," Mia added in a serious tone.
Luna Viviana breathed deeply. Tears shone in her eyes. "You are right. I definitely need to think hard before I take the path of no return. Besides, I have my baby's future to think about," she said, smiling a bit while caressing her tummy.
Mia smiled. At least this time, her best friend's temper has finally mellowed down, and she's looking more relaxed now. There is a big chance Viviana's mood will improve in the days to come once she finally accepts in her system that divorce is the only way to end her suffering.
"Let's go out today!" Luna Viviana blurted excitedly, rising from bed.
"Where?" Mia asked, surprised by the sudden shift in her best friend's mood.
"I want to visit the mall to buy clothes for my baby," Luna Viviana said cheerfully, getting out of bed, heading to the closet to change her attire.
Mia smiled as huge relief washed over her. Her friend's cheerful attitude is a breath of fresh air. Viviana's mood improved dramatically, and she was amazed at the swift transformation. "Alright, let's go!"
After Luna Viviana finished dressing up, she and Mia left the house and went to the nearest mall to shop for the baby's clothes, accompanied by bodyguards.
