123. Welcome Home!
The following day, after breakfast, Clarice was having a conversation with Demetria in the living room.
Clarice said, "I would like to ask for your permission."
"What for?" Demetria asked.
"I want to go home today to visit my family. I have this sudden urge to see them," Clarice replied.
"Sure no problem. Are you going to reveal everything to them today?" Demetria asked.
"Yeah, hopefully so. It all depends on the situation though," Clarice replied. "I may spend the night there. I will see you tomorrow," she said.
"OK. But what if your husband insists on coming here because he is angry and wants to have a fight with me? What will you do?" Demetria asked.
"It would never happen," Clarice assured her.
"He might get angry that I imprisoned you in the basement and turn you into a vampire. Sometimes men are like that. They easily get angry about a lot of things without getting to the bottom of everything," Demetria explains.
Clarice sighed. "I know. I will explain everything properly to my husband so he won't be mad at you. And I won't bring him here yet. Maybe later after the dust has settled."
"Alright, take care of yourself and have a happy reunion with your family," Demetria said thoughtfully.
"Thank you," Clarice responded with a smile. "Um, how about you? What are you going to do today?" Clarice asked.
"I will spy on some people involved in illegal businesses, hiding in the underground part of the city," Demetria replied.
"OK. I will help you after I come back," Clarice offered.
"That would be nice," Demetria responded with a smile.
"I will leave in half an hour," Clarice said, standing up.
"OK. See you tomorrow then," Demetria replied and walked to the staircase, heading back to her room on the 3rd floor.
Clarice returned to her room, feeling excited.
She stood in the middle of the room for a few minutes, thinking of the things she needed to bring home. She realized that there was no need to bring material things with her. The first thing they will ask her is what happened to her and how she survived, because she has been gone for almost a year.
She will just go home unannounced and bring joy to everyone's lips. She will do it properly. She can't teleport and suddenly pops up in the house like a ghost. They might have had a heart attack. The plan was that she would arrive on board a taxi, stop at the guardhouse and say hello to the guards. The guards still remember her for sure.
Yay! She's finally going home for real!
She went to the closet and removed her black pants and a long white long-sleeved polo shirt, her attire for the day. She put her wallet and stuff in her sling bag.
Time to leave!
Clarice disappeared from the room.
Twenty minutes later, she can be seen boarding a taxi cab, heading for her husband's mansion.
Minutes have gone by...
Clarice felt nervous but at the same time excited to see her family again.
She can't wait to embrace her husband, her son, Lorey, Grandpa Eliezer and her cousin Marina, and talk to them non-stop.
The moment she's been waiting for has finally arrived.
The taxi cab stopped at the gate of her husband's mansion. After paying the driver's fare, she exited the vehicle. She was glad because the guards were still the same. She approached their location, removed her sunglasses and smiled brightly. "How are you, guards? I'm back!" she announced energetically, smiling brightly.
Stunned, the two guards looked at her. Their eyes widened, their mouths agape in shock.
"Luna Charice, is this really you? Are you alive?" the two guards asked in unison.
"Yes, of course. I'm very much alive!" she responded happily.
"Welcome back, Luna Charice, we are happy to see you again!" the guards replied in elation. They opened the gate wide, allowing her to enter the property freely.
"Where are my husband and son? Are they inside the house right now?" Clarice asked excitedly.
One of the guards scratched his head. "Um, Luna, they're not here at this moment."
"Where are they?" Clarice asked.
"This morning, they went to the farm to visit Grandpa Eliezer. They will be back this evening," the guard explained.
"Ah, okay. I got it. I will just wait for them in the house," Clarice replied.
"Um, Luna, there is something you need to know," one of the guards said, hesitating to continue.
"What is it? Tell me now," Clarice said urgently.
"Um, the previous Luna... Viviana was currently in the house after you disappeared from the cruise ship. Madam Viviana's house was burned down to ashes so she temporarily lives here with her daughter because her new beach house is still under construction," the guard elaborated further.
"Ah, okay. I get it. No problem. Thank you for informing me in advance, guard." Clarice walked towards the mansion in a big stride, looking forward to having a serious talk with Viviana. Now that she's back, it's time for that woman to leave the mansion and find a rental home to stay in.
She couldn't allow Viviana to stay in the same house as her.
After a few minutes of walking, she finally reached the main entrance of the house and entered casually. The maids who were cleaning the living room looked at her in shock, surprised to see her alive.
"Luna Charice! You are back! You are alive!" the maids gushed in utter surprise.
Clarice grinned happily. "Yes, I'm very much alive. I'm happy to see you again, girls!" She gave the girls a quick hug to prove she was alive.
"I'll prepare your favorite snack, Luna," the maid said, smiling joyously.
"Thank you, but no need to. I'm not hungry yet," Clarice declined the maid's offer politely.
"Luna, where are your things? I'll bring them to the master bedroom upstairs," the other maids offered cheerfully.
"I haven't brought my things yet," Clarice replied. "Just continue cleaning, don't mind me. I'm going to my room to take a rest," she said, walking towards the staircase and climbing the stairs.
When she reached the second floor, she walked straight to the master's bedroom, the room she shared with her husband.
When she grabbed the doorknob and pushed the door open, she was surprised to see Viviana lying on the bed with her sleeping daughter.
Viviana's face paled instantly when their eyes met.
Clarice stepped into the room. "What are you doing here? What are you doing in my husband's room?" she asked.
Viviana was shocked. The color drained out of her face as if she had seen a ghost.
"Answer me!" Clarice ordered between clenched teeth.
"Why are you here? Why did you come back here? You should have never returned!" Viviana said, annoyed that her rival was not dead yet.
"What did you say?" Clarice asked, walking closer to the bed.
"I said, this is my house too. I was the original wife before you stole my husband. When you disappear, it's only right that I return here to occupy the empty space you left behind in my ex-husband's life. Can you blame me?" Viviana said, justifying her actions, not planning to leave the room.
"I'm back. Now leave this room!" Clarice commands in an irate tone.
"You have no right to order me to leave this house because I'm the original owner of this mansion. Besides, Alpha Callum and I have already rekindled our love affair. You are no longer part of this family! Leave now!" Viviana hissed angrily.
"Liar! I know you are lying. My husband will never betray me!" Clarice stood her ground, not believing Viviana's false claim.
"The reason I'm lying in this bed right now is because your husband allowed me to stay in this room with him. Is that hard to understand? Are you blind? Leave the mansion now! Go back to where you belong!" Viviana shouted viciously.
Clarice went to the closet and checked the clothes there.
"What are you doing?" Viviana asked with a raised brow.
"I'm going to remove your clothes from this room because this is my room too. You can't stay in this room anymore. You have to leave my house now that I'm back!" Clarice declared vehemently.
"You can't order me to leave!" Viviana protested, her nostrils flaring.
After checking the closet, Clarice couldn't find Viviana's clothes in the closet or the baby's, only hers and her husband's, which meant Viviana had been lying all along. She closed the closet door and looked at Viviana. "You are lying. Your clothes are not in the closet yet. In short, my husband didn't rekindle his relationship with you. So stop fantasizing! Being the Luna of this pack and the Alpha's wife, I order you to leave this house now!" she commanded authoritatively.
Viviana refused to leave the room. "No. My daughter also has the right to stay in this house. Since I'm her legal guardian, I also have the right to stay here with her to take care of her. No matter what you say, you can't force me to leave this house. Only Alpha Callum can order me to leave! Scram!"
Clarice was about to retaliate, but the baby started crying.
"Leave the room now! You wake up, my baby!" Viviana yelled, annoyed.
Clarice looked at the adorable baby crying on the bed. She sighed heavily. For the sake of the innocent baby, she finally left the room.
She went to her son's room and stayed there, contemplating what to do next. Should she wait for her husband and son to come home, or will she just teleport to the farm and see everyone there?
What is the right thing to do?
She couldn't order Viviana to leave the mansion unless she did it by force. Seeing that woman lying on the bed she shared with her husband made her blood boil. She closed her eyes for a few minutes, calming herself down.
Back in the master bedroom. Viviana was rapidly typing on her phone, informing Aurelia and Kaspar that Clarice was very much alive and had just arrived home today.
