80. Aftermath
A thousand miles away on a secluded island far from the city and towns, Clarice was wide awake, sitting on her bed in total darkness. She trembled in fear when the door opened. The light coming from outside flooded the dark room.
There she is...
Demetria, the bloodthirsty vampire, enters the room to feed on her blood again.
Clarice trembled in fear. This vampire will feed on her blood again and again, leaving her fearing for her life. She fears that one day she will die and never be able to escape this room alive because this vampire will drain her body dry.
Although Demetria saved her from drowning in the dark ocean, she was also feeding on her blood thrice a week.
Demetria snapped her hand and light flooded the room. "How are you today, dear?" she asked, coming closer.
"Please let me go home. My husband and my son are worried about me. They think I have died. Please set me free," Clarice begged desperately, tears flooding her eyes.
"Dear, I just want to let you know that your husband and his team of professional drivers have already stopped searching for your whereabouts. He has already given up on you, he's not worthy of your love and devotion. So why do you still want to go home to him?" Demetria asked, annoyed.
"Because he is my husband and my family. He probably stopped searching for me thinking I was already dead. If you set me free today, I can be united with my family. I have disappeared for more than two months already. I need to go home. I miss my husband and son so much. Please, I beg you. Let me go!" Clarice cried and pleaded desperately, hoping she could touch the vampire's cold heart.
Demetria shook her head. "No way! I love the taste of your blood so much. Your blood is like a delicacy that I can't get enough of. I'm addicted to your blood. The more I drink your blood, the more I become younger. I want to keep you by my side forever as my companion. Don't worry, you are safe with me. No one can hurt you ever again. I will protect you," she said solemnly.
Clarice sobbed harder after learning that the vampire had no intention of letting her go.
"Stop crying! I hate the sound of your crying! When I drank your blood I enjoyed doing it. I don't want you crying because it could destroy my mood. If you continue crying I will not give you food for three days!" Demetria shouted in annoyance, threatening her menacingly.
The thought of not eating for three days terrified Clarice. Just one day of not eating makes her stomach hurt terribly. She won't survive three days without food.
Knowing that she had no choice, she immediately stopped crying and lay down on the bed, showing her exposed neck to her. "I'm ready. Drink my blood all you want," she said in a submissive manner. She faced the wall, readying herself for the painful bite.
Demetria smiled in satisfaction. "Good girl!" she said, pleased with her cooperation. She opened her mouth and her fangs elongated instantly at the sight of Clarice's delicious neck.
Clarice waited apprehensively. When the vampire's sharp fangs penetrated her skin she shut her eyes tightly, careful not to make any sounds to avoid irritating the vampire. She grimaced in pain.
A few minutes later, Demetria had already had her fill. After she finished drinking Clarice's blood, she placed her hand on the open wound to stop the bleeding, healing the puncture completely.
"I'm done drinking your blood, you will get your reward later," Demetria said casually, walking towards the door.
"What reward are you talking about?" Clarice asked curiously.
"Just the usual, the requested food you like to eat," Demetria replied casually. "And one more thing, I have a surprise for you next week. I'm sure you will like it," she added with a smile, and left the room.
Clarice rose from the bed, surprised that Demetria had taken her leave but didn't turn off the light. It's the first time she leaves the light open.
A few minutes later, Demetria returned to the room, holding a plastic food tray laden with food and fruits. "Enjoy the food, dear and don't forget to take the capsule to replenish your blood quickly," she said, placing the tray on the table.
"Thank you, Demetria. Can you please leave the light open for the whole day? It's too dark in here every time you leave me. Please?" Clarice begged.
Demetria smiled. "Sure, dear. From now on, you will have lights in this room 24/7. I rewarded you today because you are a good girl."
"Thank you so much, Demetria," Clarice said in a thrilled voice. Finally, she has lights 24/7. It's a welcome relief from the darkness that consumed her life in the basement day and night.
"Enjoy the food," Demetria said, and left the room.
Clarice smiled, salivating at the delicious food on the platter. Her meal today consisted of beef steak, java rice, stir-fried vegetables and hot corn soup with slices of sweet mangoes. Demetria brought the food she had requested earlier.
She picked up the utensils and began eating her delicious meal.
Demetria told her once that she lives alone in her house and has no cooks. She would always teleport to the city and buy ready-to-eat foods from the restaurant to feed her.
She wonders what Demetria's house looks like outside the basement?
When Demetria told her that she was living on a secluded island far away from the city, she was deeply saddened. How can she escape and ask for help if Demetria's place is far from the city?
Escaping the vampire's clutches looks impossible right now, especially since Demetria has become addicted to drinking her blood.
She also realized that Demetria was a powerful vampire. She can teleport anywhere in the country. She has the ability to float in the air undetected, and she can make herself invisible.
Demetria's immense power terrified her.
She believes the vampire has more hidden power that she doesn't know yet. In short, Demetria is one person you don't want to mess with.
The only way to survive is to always get on Demetria's good side and become submissive to her. She is careful not to get on her bad side because once Demetria is angry, her fury can kill her.
In her second week in captivity, she tried fighting Demetria off, kicking and punching her. The vampire got annoyed and hung her upside down in the room in total darkness for three days without food. She almost died.
She learned her lesson the hard way. She realized that if she obeyed all Demetria's orders, she wouldn't suffer her wrath. Instead, she got rewarded with her favorite food. It's better than nothing.
One day, her submissiveness will finally reward her with a safe passage home.
For now, she will just study and observe Demetria's strengths and weaknesses. Maybe one day she will have a chance to escape.
After she finished eating the food, she drank water and washed the dirty dishes in the bathroom. Every time Demetria returns to the room to get the tray, she makes sure that the plates and utensils are always clean.
She sat on the bed and closed her eyes.
She remembered what happened on the horrific night when Kaspar froze her and threw her into the water without mercy.
Tears of anger and sorrow flooded her eyes as she recalled everything...
