65. I Won't Give Up!
Aurelia fixed her gaze on the guard, dying of suspense, waiting for the decision to come from Alpha Callum's wife.
The guard finished talking on the radio. He approached the parked vehicle. "Ma'am, you and your companion are allowed to proceed to the mansion."
"Thank you!" Aurelia said in elation.
"We will check the vehicle first, ma'am. Can you and your companion get out of the car, please? It's just normal procedure for safety precautions. I'm sorry for the inconvenience," the guard apologizes politely.
Aurelia smiled. "No problem."
She and Kaspar got out of the car and allowed the guard to perform his inspection.
Everything is fine.
A few minutes later, they headed on to the next gate where they are required to leave their gadgets, especially mobile phones and IDs, in the guard house.
"Wow, so strict!" Kaspar gushed in astonishment after successfully passing the 2nd guardhouse.
"I thought they would force us to leave our car and walk towards the mansion barefoot," Aurelia said, laughing in amusement.
Kaspar grinned. "That would be an overkill scenario," he snorted.
The guard guided them on where to park their car in front of the driveway of the mansion.
A maid approached them. "Madam, Sir, please follow me," she said.
Kaspar and Aurelia followed the maid into the spacious modern living room, equipped with modern appliances and classy furniture.
"Please make yourself comfortable," the maid said, and took her leave.
They settled onto the sofa.
"Wow, Alpha Callum is loaded," Kaspar said in awe.
"Extremely wealthy!" Aurelia agreed.
"Don't tell me, you have plans?" Kaspar asked, his eyes gleaming diabolically.
"Do I need an upgrade? Do we need an upgrade?" Aurelia said in a low voice, laughing softly.
They looked into each other's eyes, communicating silently, then they burst into merry laughter, sharing a private joke with each other.
A few moments later.
The maid placed the refreshment on the center table and gave them the remote control of the 50-inches Smart TV. "Please enjoy the refreshment, Sir, Madam. You can watch TV shows while waiting for Luna Charice to come down. She will see you in a few minutes."
"Thank you, dear," Aurelia said, smiling.
"You're welcome, Madam," the maid replied politely and took her leave.
Aurelia ignored the refreshment, roaming her eyes around the living room. She liked what she had seen so far. Too bad she met Alpha Callum too late. He is much wealthier and better looking than her very own husband.
"That woman is very lucky to snag Alpha Callum," Aurelia commented casually.
"Yeah, she is. She must be a very pretty and special woman to capture Alpha Callum's heart, forcing him to divorce his ex-wife, the former Luna Viviana," Kaspar agreed.
"Yeah, I'm curious what she would look like without the veil? I expect her to be a very beautiful and elegant lady," Aurelia said, looking for the photo of the bride hanging on the wall, but couldn't find one.
Kaspar had chosen a horror zombie movie to watch on the smart TV.
"What are we watching?" Aurelia asked.
"Zombie movie, this is fun!" Kaspar said, grinning broadly.
Aurelia giggled, amused.
Meanwhile...
Upstairs in the CCTV control room, Clarice was sitting on the chair, watching on the screen her enemies laughing in her home as if they were VIPs.
She gritted her teeth in anger. Just looking at them on the monitor made her blood boil.
Right now, she wants to kill them with her own hands.
Her mind was bombarded with all kinds of revenge that she would like to do on her enemies.
"What is your plan, Luna Charice?" Beta Amir asked. Alpha Callum was currently on the farm, visiting Grandpa Eliezer. "Do you want me to inform your husband through the mind link that your enemies are here so he can come home right away?"
Clarice shook her head. "No. I can handle this."
Heavy silence fell in the room.
"Um, the basement is always ready, right?" Clarice asked.
Beta Amir raised a brow. "Yes, Luna. What are you planning?" he asked curiously.
"I plan to drug them, make them unconscious and throw them into the basement and imprison them there until they die," she replied. Her eyes flashed with hatred. "We can erase CCTV footage, right? I want to delete all evidence documenting that they arrived here. After they went missing, no one could trace them here. We can't be implicated in their disappearance," she said, her voice thick with venom and revenge.
Beta Amir scratches his head. "However, during the investigation of their disappearance, their mobile phone records can be traced here, and automatically they will come here to investigate."
Clarice looked at him. Her brows drew together. "Explain to me..."
"During a missing person's disappearance, the investigator will trace the last location of the mobile phones of the missing owner based on the signals sent between the phones and cell towers," Beta Amir explained.
"I can't take my revenge now that my enemies are inside my house? Is that what you mean?" Clarice asked.
"Luna, if you are serious about revenge, then my suggestion is to hire a sniper to take them out during their public outings. We could also hire assassins to plant bombs outside their cars and make them explode together with their vehicles. There are many ways to plot revenge against your enemies in the safest and most effective way without investigators finding their way to your doorsteps," Beta Amir casually suggested.
Clarice was silent for a moment. "I think you are right. I'll just abort my plan then," she said, standing up.
"If you are no longer in the mood to come down and entertain them in the living room, I can send them away," Beta Amir suggested.
"No, it's okay. I'll come down and talk to them," Clarice said bravely, despite her knees wobbling as she trembled in rage.
"Do you want me to escort you to your room, Luna?" Beta Amir offered.
Clarice shook her head. "No, thanks, I can manage," she said, and left the CCTV room.
She went to her room and sat on the chair facing the mirror at her dressing table, staring at her reflection in the mirror. "Do I want revenge now?" she asked herself.
A voice inside her head replied, 'No you don't. You already have everything. Why let the past affect you? You already promised that once you get married to Alpha Callum, get your son back and your family is finally complete, you won't seek revenge, and you will forget your enemies and live a peaceful life with your family.'
Indeed, she remembered her promise.
She closed her eyes and savored the peaceful atmosphere of her room, shutting down the horrific memories of her past.
Should she go down now and face her enemies? Or send them away without talking to them?
Which is which?
She massaged her temple. No rush. She will take her time to decide.
Back in the living room.
Aurelia was getting restless and impatient, looking at the staircase a thousand times, leading to the second floor where she thought the bedrooms were located. "What took her so long to come down?" she asked, super annoyed.
"Just wait and watch the zombie movie with me so that you don't get bored. It's a fun movie! Entertaining!" Kaspar said, grinning broadly.
Aurelia groaned. She had a bad feeling about this. They had been waiting for almost an hour already.
A few minutes later, the maid came down the stairs and approached the visitors. "Sir, Madam, I'm very sorry, Luna Charice can't see you today because she is suffering from a painful migraine. Her painful headache started this morning and is getting worse right now. She apologizes that she kept you waiting for so long."
Aurelia stared angrily at the maid. "This is ridiculous! She kept us waiting here for so long!" she protested, nostrils flaring in anger.
Kaspar quickly turned off the TV and stood up. "Let's go now before you start making trouble here," he hissed into her face.
Aurelia refused to budge, but Kaspar managed to drag her towards the door. They got into their vehicle and Kaspar drove the car back to the second gate to get their phone and ID.
Fifteen minutes later, after they left Alpha Callum's property, Aurelia still couldn't get over her anger.
"That woman is indeed Clarice!" she declared in agitation.
"Calm down. Didn't you hear the maid? She told us that Luna Charice had been suffering from migraines and headaches since the morning. Are you deaf?" Kaspar rolled his eyes.
"And you believe her?" Aurelia said, glaring at him.
Kaspar groaned. "From now on, stop stalking that woman. You are getting obsessed with her. It's no longer healthy and funny."
"Shut up!" Aurelia yelled into his face. "I won't give up. I will find a way!"
Kaspar sighed. He wanted to scold his companion, but realized his words were useless in Aurelia's ears, so he shut his mouth and concentrated on his driving.
