67. Are You Kidding Me?
The following day.
After Alpha Bruce left the mansion to go to the Bloodhounds Pack headquarters, Aurelia was also getting ready to leave the mansion.
Kaspar was eating breakfast alone in the dining room.
Aurelia made her coffee and sat beside Kaspar, facing the table laden with delicious food.
"I'm going to see Viviana at her house this morning. Would you come with me?" she asked, sipping her coffee.
Kaspar shook his head. "No. I have already told you, I won't tolerate your madness this time. Why visit a woman living peacefully in her beach house and stir up trouble? Leave those people alone. We already had everything we needed, just stop digging and let things be," he said in an exasperated tone. He put a slice of ham in his mouth.
Aurelia's nose wrinkled, annoyed that Kaspar was no longer interested in indulging in her whims. "I couldn't just let this opportunity pass me by. Viviana is already willing to meet me. The more reason to see her. I want to know if my suspicions are right. I will show her the photo of Clarice on my phone and if she can identify her as Alpha Callum's new wife, then my suspicion is right."
"And what would you do if Charice and Clarice were one person? What is your next move?" Kaspar asked.
Aurelia was speechless for a moment. It took her a few minutes of silent musing before she opened her mouth and declared, "We will kill her again!"
Kaspar groaned. "And how will you do it? Will you go to Charice's house and stab her with a knife or shoot her with a gun?"
Aurelia smiled. "No. I'm sure Charice has already informed her guards not to accept us anymore if we return there. We can no longer visit her in her house, so we have to find a way to assassinate her in a public place."
Kaspar raised a brow. "You want to hire a killer to kill Charice?"
Aurelia nodded her head. "Yep, that's what I'm going to do."
"Are you serious?" Kaspar looked at her with his mouth wide open. "And what if you fail with your plan? The plan will backfire, and they catch the killer and confess that you are the one who is the mastermind of the killing. What will you do? Aren't you afraid that this time you might fail, and the past will come back to haunt us, and we will lose everything?"
"That's not going to happen," Aurelia said confidently. "That is the reason why we have to strike first, because I'm afraid Clarice might attack us, catching us off-guard, and it will be too late to do anything. I'm afraid she will return one of these days and reveal what we have done to her and Alpha Bruce in the past. Our dirty little secret will be exposed, and we will lose everything because we are too complacent..." she said, her tone filled with agitation.
"And what if Charice is not Clarice? What will you do?" Kaspar asked.
"I will stop thinking about Clarice and stop stalking Charice. I will forget everything and move on," she said with finality in her voice.
"I hope the two women are not the same person so we can finally move on," Kaspar said wistfully.
"I hope so," Aurelia murmured. "Are you coming with me to visit Viviana?"
Kaspar shook his head. "Nah, you are going alone. I would rather spend the rest of my days chatting with my toy boys before the judgement days arrive," he joked.
"Fine!" Aurelia glared at him for his lack of interest in pursuing Viviana to become their ally. "I'll go alone then."
"Good luck," Kaspar said and continued eating his meal.
After sipping her coffee, Aurelia returned to the master bedroom and got dressed up for her trip.
One hour later, Aurelia can be seen exiting the main door of the mansion, getting in her car and starting her one-hour journey towards the beach house.
While driving her car on the busy highway, she was thinking about what kind of person Viviana was. She hoped she would be easy to talk to in person, and she wouldn't have a hard time befriending her.
After one hour of driving, she finally arrived at the beach house. The place was serene looking, its beauty was enhanced by palm trees, endless stretches of white powdery sand, crystal clear blue water and blue skies. Such a perfect place to live.
Viviana is a lucky-divorced woman enjoying a huge divorce settlement from her husband, but deep inside she knew Viviana was still bitter and heartbroken about the divorce. Poor woman!
Maybe she can exploit Viviana's heartache to her advantage.
The guards allowed her inside the premises after inspecting her vehicle and identification cards.
There she is, Viviana, standing on the porch of the house, wearing a pretty flowing maternity dress, heavily pregnant.
I reached her side and shook hands with her. "How are you? You look amazing! Nice meeting you, Viviana," I said cheerfully.
"Nice meeting you too, Luna Aurelia," Viviana beamed. "Come in," she said, urging the visitor inside her house.
Aurelia stepped into the house. "Wow, your house is even more beautiful inside. The interior is gorgeous," she gushes, admiring the wall decorations and state-of-the-art furniture and appliances.
"Thank you," Viviana said, proud of her home. "Do you want to stay here inside the house or do you want to see the clear blue skies and blue water while we're chatting?" she asked, smiling brightly.
"I love the ocean view and open skies," Aurelia replied.
"Alright, let's go to the beach," Viviana said.
The two women left the house and settled on sun loungers under the broad umbrella, protecting them from the glare of the sun.
After settling comfortably into their seats, they looked each other in the eyes.
"Um, let's not waste our time. Let's get to the point about why you're here," Viviana said, her face serious.
Aurelia smiled. She likes Viviana's attitude. Her eagerness and curiosity could be handy for her. "Can I show you a photo of a woman?" she asked permission first.
"Sure, let me see it," Viviana said.
Aurelia scrolled on her phone and picked a clear photo of Clarice. "Have you seen this woman?"
Viviana stared hard at the photo. "She looks familiar. Wait, where did I see her?"
"Please think carefully," Aurelia said, holding her breath. "Have you seen or met your ex-husband's current wife? Have you talked to her personally? Do they look similar?"
Viviana looked at Aurelia, confused. "Are you insinuating that my ex-husband's wife and this woman in the picture are the same person?"
"I can't say that because I haven't seen the face of Alpha Callum's new wife yet. But how about you? Can you spot their similarity?" Aurelia asked. "Ah, let me ask you again, have you already seen Charice's face? Did you ever talk to her face to face?"
Viviana nodded her head. "Yes, I do."
"So, are they similar, the same person?" Aurelia repeated her question.
"Um, let me think for a moment." Viviana fell silent.
"Take your time," Aurelia said, shifting her attention to the tranquil blue sea in front of her.
After a few minutes of silence, Viviana spoke again. "My husband's current wife looks fake. I can spot a wig when I see one, contact lenses and so on. She wore all those fake things..." Her voice trailed off.
Aurelia's eyes gleamed. "I see, anything else you notice?"
"Well, I can say with the utmost accuracy that the two women have the same facial structure," Viviana said confidently. Then she pointed her hand at the picture on Aurelia's phone. "That woman... I remember her now. She looks like the late Luna Clarice of the Bloodhounds pack. Am I right?"
Aurelia nodded her head and confessed, "Yes, she is Clarice, the former wife of my husband, Alpha Bruce."
Surprised by Aurelia's revelation, Viviana gasped. "Oh, what's her story? Why did she die suddenly? And why did you become the new wife of Alpha Bruce on the same day she passed away?" she asked, curiosity gleaming in her eyes.
Aurelia took a deep breath. Now comes the hard part. "It's a long story..."
"I'm ready to hear the long story," Viviana said encouragingly. Curiosity flashed in her eyes.
"Can you keep a secret?" Aurelia asked, looking deeply into her eyes.
Viviana smiled. "Yes, I can keep a secret, besides Luna Clarice is already dead, nothing to worry about, right?"
Aurelia nodded her head. "But what if I told you that Clarice is not dead yet, and she became Charice Evans, your husband's new wife, with the help of the wig, disguise and all?" she said. Her suspicions finally reached a conclusion.
Viviana's eyes widened in astonishment, stunned by the outrageous revelation. "Are you kidding me?" she said in utter shock and disbelief.
