78. Deep Blue Sea
Kaspar finished his one-week-long holiday on the cruise ship, making sure that Clarice is already buried in the deep ocean with no chance of coming back to the land of the living.
He watched in satisfaction as Alpha Callum desperately searched every room and cabin to find his beloved wife. But he failed to find her.
Kaspar was lucky that heaven favored him because the CCTV camera in the couple's favorite spot malfunctioned on the same day he succeeded in completing his evil plan.
Since no evidence can point to him as the culprit of Clarice's disappearance, he enjoyed his remaining days on the cruise ship, unbothered.
Aurelia and Viviana were ecstatic after he informed them that Clarice was finally gone and would never come back again. He told them that Clarice drowned in the deep ocean and her body had probably been eaten already by sharks and other dangerous animals inhabiting the deep blue sea.
Carrying his travel luggage, he left the ship in high spirits, happy with his accomplishments. He could already see his bank account loaded with a $10 million deposit.
The beaming Aurelia was already waiting for him in the port's parking area. "Welcome back, Kaspar! You succeeded in your mission. I'm so happy right now!" she gushed in elation.
Kaspar grinned jubilantly, proud of himself.
"The news about Alpha Callum's missing wife, Charice Evans, has already reached everyone's ears. You are amazing. You did it, finally!" Aurelia gushed in delight.
"Of course, I can't fail this time, especially since $10 million is already waiting for me," Kaspar smiled broadly.
"Indeed, you are the best. I'm just glad that you didn't fail this time. I'm feeling relieved and pleased with your hard work. I can finally live in peace. I'm sure Clarice can no longer return alive this time," Aurelia said ecstatically.
"Yes, Clarice will never return again. She will never survive the dangerous water. She drowned and sank into the bottom of the sea," Kaspar said confidently.
"How did you do it? Tell me," Aurelia asked curiously.
"I saw Clarice alone. I quickly froze her then lifted her body and threw her into the water while her husband went to the restaurant to buy her coffee. That's how I did it," Kaspar explained.
Aurelia clapped her hands in glee. "Nice! Destiny helped you fulfill your mission. Poor Clarice!" she said wickedly.
"Alright, let's stop talking about her. Let's go home," Kaspar said.
"OK." Aurelia started the engine and navigated the car out of the port's parking area.
While the car was moving smoothly on the busy highway, Kaspar glanced at Aurelia. "So, when are you going to deposit $5 million into my bank account?" he asked.
"Tomorrow, I will start with $1 million and so on until I complete the $5 million we agreed upon," Aurelia replied.
"How about Viviana?" Kaspar inquired.
"She told me she would copy my style. To avoid alerting the banks, she will wire money into your bank account in smaller amounts. So, after I'm done depositing the total $5 million into your bank account, she will follow suit," Aurelia said.
Kaspar raised a brow, not liking what he heard. "Can she be trusted? What if she will not honor her pledge and refuses to give me the $5 million we agreed upon?" he asked, expressing his doubts.
Aurelia smiled. "Don't doubt Viviana's sincerity. She knew very well that you would come after her if she backed out and refused to deposit the money she owed you into your bank account. Don't worry, I think she can be trusted," she said reassuringly, not worried at all that Viviana would change her mind, since she would also reap the benefits of Clarice's death, making Alpha Callum single again.
Kaspar's eyes turned dark. "If Viviana is planning to deceive me and refuses to give me the money then I will kill her!" he said angrily.
"Calm down, Kaspar. Viviana is not our enemy. She is our friend, our partner in crime. She will never turn her back on us," she assured her.
Kaspar's tensed body relaxed gradually. "Alright, I believe in you."
Aurelia sighed, annoyed by Kaspar's demanding attitude. "Just relax and wait for the money to reach your account. No need to panic. No one will swindle you with your hard-earned money. You deserve your reward for a job well done."
"Thank you." Kaspar grinned.
"By the way, I know someone who has a space for rent near the city's busy district. You mentioned before that you wanted to open a shop for a fortune-telling business once you received your reward. I can bring you to that place tomorrow so you can see the area before somebody beats you to it," Aurelia offered.
Kaspar nodded his head. "Sure. Let's check the place tomorrow," he responded excitedly.
"Alrighty," Aurelia smiled, driving the car smoothly. Her heart was rejoicing that Kaspar had finally gotten rid of Clarice for good. From now on, no one will discover that she and Kaspar were the reason of Clarice's downfall.
She is finally free from the shadow of guilt and nightmares now that Clarice can no longer be found.
She feels triumphant, floating on cloud 9.
After a short trip back to the mansion, Kaspar stayed in his room to rest and chat with his boyfriend all night long.
The following day, Kaspar and Aurelia were getting ready to check the place for rent. But before that, Aurelia wired $500,000 to Kaspar's bank account. "Check your bank account," she said, after they got into the car.
Kaspar checked his bank account online. "Why is it only $500,000?" he complained with a raised brow.
"Relax. Tonight I will deposit another $500,000 into your bank account," she assured him.
"Ah, okay," Kaspar said in relief.
Aurelia started the engine of the car and drove the vehicle out of the mansion's gate onto the open highway.
"By the way, where is your husband? I haven't seen him around. Where is he?" Kaspar asked.
"He is currently on a five-day business trip outside town," she replied.
"Alright, let's have a celebration and dine in a five-star restaurant because we finally got rid of Clarice. I finally succeeded this time! I'm the best!" he said boastfully, proud of his wicked accomplishment.
After a short journey, they finally reached their destination.
The moment Kaspar stepped into the for-rent building he already liked the vibe of the place. He could already see his business growing and thriving every day. People will come to the door, eager to have their palms read for good fortune. Since the place is situated on a busy street, many people will try his services out of curiosity until they get hooked and repeatedly seek his services to make themselves feel good and in control of their destiny.
Kaspar and Aurelia explored the building up and down, and they liked what they saw.
The building is two stories. The first floor is for business space and the second floor is for living quarters. Kaspar already feels at home and satisfied with the layout of the place, perfect for his business.
Aurelia looked at him and asked, "Do you like this place?"
"Yes. I like it very much. I'll get it!" Kaspar answered excitedly.
"Alright, I'll call the agent right away so the space for rent sign outside the door will be taken out immediately," Aurelia said.
One hour later, the agent arrived and took out the signage after they agreed to the one-year lease contract for the place.
After successfully closing the transaction with the agent, Aurelia and Kaspar proceeded to the famous five-star restaurant located at the top of a twenty-story hotel. They dined there to celebrate Clarice's death.
Meanwhile...
While the two evil people celebrated their victory in eliminating an innocent woman, Alpha Callum and his team of professional drivers were busy scouring the vast ocean to find Clarice, dead or alive.
The search was never easy due to the unpredictable weather in the turbulent sea, but Alpha Callum and the rest of the members of the search team are working tirelessly, night and day, to find Clarice.
Alpha Callum would often look far and wide trying to see if there was a floating body on the surface of the vast ocean, but feel disappointed because he could only see big waves. His heart was bleeding in agony and misery, worrying about his wife's safety and whereabouts.
He was grappling with hopelessness and despair every single day, every time they failed to find his missing wife.
How far can Alpha Callum continue searching for Clarice in the vast and dangerous ocean?
How long will he persist in the search?
How long can he go on before he gives up?
