52. One Last Embrace
A week later, Viviana was done packing her things and the servants had already put all her stuff in her car and other things in the van.
She went to her husband's office to say goodbye. But he was not there. "Where is he?" she asked his beta.
"Alpha told me he would visit you tomorrow at the beach house," Beta Amir replied.
Viviana bit her lip. "It's my last day here, and he doesn't want to see me? How cruel," she commented bitterly.
Beta Amir scratched his head. "Um, he instructed me to accompany you to your new house today."
"OK," she said sadly. "When are you going to release to the public my joint statement with my husband that we are divorcing amicably?"
"Tomorrow afternoon as per your instructions, Luna," Beta Amir replied.
"From now on, stop calling me Luna. You will have a new Luna soon," Viviana corrected him. She felt a sharp pain in her heart after saying it. She finally came to terms that she was no longer the Luna of their pack. She lost power and authority.
"OK, as you say so," Beta Amir murmured.
"Alright, let's get going," Viviana said coldly, exiting the room and walking down the hallway leading to the staircase.
Beta Amir closed the door and followed the fallen Luna down the staircase and outside the house to the driveway where their car was parked. "Can I drive for you, madam?" he offered.
"OK, you drive." Viviana handed him her car keys. She is not in the mood to drive. She felt like her heart had just died today. Vacating the mansion is difficult for her to do, but she has no choice. She can't start a new life if she remains in the mansion, licking her wounds.
Beta Amir slid into the driver's seat and started the engine.
Viviana stood beside the car. With unshed tears, she looked one last time at the mansion that had been her home for many years. Her heart was breaking inside.
A lone tear fell from her eyes. She quickly wiped it with the palm of her hand and slid into the passenger seat. "Let's go..." she ordered softly, caressing her tummy, fighting the urge to cry.
"Copy, madam," Beta Amir replied and started the engine, driving the car out of the property.
The ride to the beach house was sad and lonely for Viviana. Her best friend Mia was unable to come to accompany her because her mother got sick and was admitted to the hospital.
She looked at the window. Her eyes became blurry with unshed tears.
Half an hour later, they finally arrived at the beach house.
Viviana handed over the house key to Beta Amir. "Open the house and instruct the servants to take my stuff into the master bedroom upstairs on the second floor," she said, and walked away, heading to the beach.
Beta Amir scratched his head. He felt sorry for the fallen Luna as she walked towards the beach, looking like a defeated queen abandoned by her king.
He walked to the door, inserted the key and opened the door wide.
The guards helped the maids bring the bags inside the house and put them in Viviana's room.
After putting the bags on the floor, the guards left and the servants began unpacking the bags and arranging Luna Viviana's things in the closet and putting her toiletries in the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Beta Amir finally had a chance to tour the inside of the house and found the property magnificent inside and outside. Viviana is a lucky-divorced millionaire woman who gets all the dough.
Outside the house, Viviana continued staring at the calm deep blue sea, sighing deeply. This time she let her tears fall, since no one was around to witness the pain of her downfall.
She gave up so easily. She gave up her marriage without a fight. If only her husband loved her a little bit more, she would fight to death. But how can she fight the mate bond? Her husband belongs to someone else, and it would be futile to keep forcing herself on her husband when love is no longer present in their marriage.
She would only be deceiving herself. She won't be happy anymore. She sat on the lounge chair and allowed herself to cry for a few minutes, letting the pain consume her.
After a few minutes of crying, she dried her tears using the back of her hand and stood up. The servants are waiting for her in the house for further instructions. She must guide them.
She composed herself, turned around and walked to the house. She looked at Beta Amir. "You can leave now. Tell your Alpha that I have settled in my new house happily," she said with an air of dignity in her tone.
"Copy, madam," Beta Amir replied. "I'll go now," he said, and left the house.
Viviana took the two maids into their rooms. "This will be your room. Familiarize yourself with the house. I'm going to rest in my room upstairs."
"Copy, madam," the maid replied in unison.
Outside the house, the two guards can be seen patrolling the area.
Viviana climbed the staircase and proceeded to her room. She walked to the dresser table, lowered herself into the chair and stared at her reflection in the mirror.
She blinked her eyes several times. All she could see was a miserable version of herself. The woman staring back at her was broken and defeated. She bit her lip as sorrow and pain started to squeeze her heart painfully.
Tears filled her eyes. She's tired of trying to be strong. But it's okay now to cry because no one is watching her.
She could no longer hold back her tears and the floodgates of sorrow opened up. She began sobbing hard. Tears rolled down her face. The loud sound of her weeping filled the room.
She rose to her feet, went to bed and continued crying there.
A few minutes later, she finally stopped crying because she had no more tears left to cry.
She placed her hands on her abdomen and caressed her tummy. "Baby, it's only you and me now. Your father never loved you. Only your mommy loves you. Be good, okay? Don't give mommy a hard time while I'm pregnant with you," she said softly.
Talking to her unborn child somehow gives her relief from her sorrow.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. She asked, "Who is it?"
"It's me," Alpha Callum said.
Viviana's eyes lit up upon hearing the voice of her beloved ex-husband.
She left the bed and opened the door. She hugged him tightly, not giving him time to protest. "I miss you so much! I feel terrible right now. Please tell me this is a nightmare! I can't believe this is happening to us!" She broke down in his arms.
