25. Delusional
The following day, Clarice woke up at 5:30. Everyone in the house was still sleeping, including Callum, snoring softly beside her on the bed.
She looked at his face adoringly. Her heart was bursting with love for him. Last night, they didn't make love because she turned emotional and destroyed the mood between them.
She felt guilty that she had failed to give him the pleasure he craved.
At the beginning of their reconciliation, she was trying to be patient and understanding of being the other woman, but it didn't last long. She can't pretend no more. She got impatient. She needs to know where she stands in their relationship.
She bore him a son, and she is his fated mate. Therefore, she has more value compared to his wife. Luna Viviana must give way to her, not the other way around. Unfortunately, Luna Viviana is not an understanding woman. She will kill anyone who steals her husband.
As the days go by, she is getting paranoid. Despite what her former best friend did to her, stealing her husband and plotting her death, she has no plans to do the same to Luna Viviana.
She just wants to live in peace with her son and is willing to be the other woman as long as Luna Viviana will leave her alone in peace. She has no desire anymore to put an end to the couple's marriage despite it being what her heart truly wants.
She bit her lip as sadness started hammering her heart. Not wanting to dwell in negativity any longer, she rose from the bed and entered the bathroom to pee.
She emerged from the bathroom door a few moments later. Callum was still sleeping in bed. She went to the closet and removed a black bag containing six wigs in different styles and colors. She took another bag filled with dark eyeglasses. They are the perfect disguise for her trip to the mall.
She picked up the long black wig and inspected it. She will be wearing it for her shopping at the mall, and she will match it with dark sunglasses. The curly brown hair is good for Lorey. She set the wigs aside to be used later.
Clarice walked to the window and opened it. She looked outside, staring at the mountains looming in the distance, praying to the Moon Goddess that her future would be brighter, especially now that she and Callum are going to be reunited with their son and become one happy family.
After a few minutes of staring at the wilderness, she returned to bed and lay down beside Callum, embracing him lovingly. She closed her eyes, attempting to go back to sleep.
Callum stirred in his sleep, and opened his eyes. He looked at Clarice's beautiful face and smiled happily. He planted a kiss on her forehead and got off the bed, moving towards the bathroom and disappearing behind the door.
A few moments later, he emerged from the door to see Clarice wide awake, sitting upright on the bed, looking at him, wearing a bright smile on her face. "Good morning," she said cheerily.
"Good morning, babe," he replied, getting back into bed. "How was your sleep last night?" he asked.
"Awesome!" she responded merrily.
"Let's not leave the room yet. Let's cuddle first," he said, grinning, inhaling her addictive womanly scent.
"Alrighty!" she responded in glee, pressing her body to his, seeking his delicious warmth.
The couple whispered sweet nothings into their ears, enjoying their togetherness while discussing their trip to get their son.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Grandpa Eliezer and Lorey can be seen preparing a delicious breakfast in the kitchen.
One hour later, they finished cooking the dishes. Lorey arranged them palatably on the table.
"I will inform Luna Clarice that breakfast is ready," Lorey said, heading for the staircase.
"No. Don't disturb them. I can feel Callum is upstairs in Clarice's room. Let's just wait until they come down," Grandpa Eliezer said.
"Ah, okay." Lorey exited the house and began sweeping the dried leaves in front of the house.
Fifteen minutes later, the couple finally went down and proceeded to the kitchen.
"Wow, smells delicious!" Alpha Callum commented, looking at the appetizing dishes on the table.
"I'm starving!" Clarice gushed after seeing her favorite breakfast consisting of waffles, sliced bread, hot dog, ham and a sunny side up egg. Her eyes lit up when her eyes landed on the bananas and slices of mangoes on the table, making her tummy growl hungry.
"Take your seats, guys. Let's have breakfast," Grandpa Eliezer ordered.
They settled into the chairs comfortably and began eating with gusto.
After they finished eating, they discussed the trip to the mall.
Clarice looked at the old man. "Grandpa, how about you? Can you accompany us to the mall?" she asked.
Grandpa Eliezer smiled. "Sure, why not? It's been a long time since I last set foot in the city. I would love to see and explore the big malls there for a change," he responded in a thrilled voice.
"Amazing!" Clarice clapped her hands in glee.
"Awesome, Pops. I'm feeling so much better now that you finally decided to accompany the girls to the mall. At least there is someone who can protect them during my absence," Alpha Callum said, feeling relieved.
They relocated to the sofa in the living room while Lorey ate breakfast in the kitchen.
Back in the living room, the trio were finalizing the trip to the mall.
After Lorey finished tidying the kitchen, she and Clarice went upstairs to try on their disguises in front of the mirror.
The two men remained downstairs, relaxing on the sofa, still discussing mall shopping.
"Pops, you look excited about going to the mall. It's the first time I saw you getting excited about leaving the farm and visiting the city once again after a long time," he observed, smiling.
Grandpa Eliezer grinned. "Don't get me wrong, son. I love living here on the farm, enjoying the countryside. But once in a while, visiting other places also appeals to me and going to the mall sounds nice to my ears. So yeah... I'm excited about going shopping with the girls. Don't worry, I will protect them from danger," he said reassuringly.
"If there is danger threatening the girls' safety, are you going to use your hidden talent to protect them?" Alpha Callum asked.
Grandpa Eliezer smiled. "Of course, I will definitely use my hidden martial arts skills," he replied jokingly.
Callum chuckled. "I bet you do, Pops. Now I'm fully relieved. The girls are definitely in good hands."
They chatted for a few minutes more.
Then Alpha Callum finally bids farewell to Clarice to return to the mansion before his wife finds out that he didn't sleep in their marital home the whole night.
After Alpha Callum left, Clarice read a few pages of the book she had not finished reading yet.
Grandpa Eliezer had gotten busy in his room, choosing the appropriate attire for his mall trip.
A few hours later, the car rental arrived and George, the driver, introduced himself to them.
George and Grandpa Eliezer chat outside the house while the women start preparing dishes for lunch in the kitchen.
After the cooking preparation was finished, they gathered around the dining table and ate lunch together.
One hour later, they were ready to go.
They left the farmhouse at 1:30 in the afternoon, heading for the nearest mall.
