45. Truth Hurts
A few minutes later, Alpha Callum appeared in the master bedroom of his mansion. He lowered his wife onto the bed gently, handling her with care because she was pregnant with his child.
The Moon Goddess had been kind to him lately, showering him with two children. One, his firstborn Caden, and the second one, was still growing and developing in his wife's womb.
He was gifted with two blessings, yet his problem was so much bigger now.
He continues staring at his wife, massaging his jaw, contemplating what to do with her.
He had already made up his mind to divorce his wife and stay with Clarice and their son Caden. But now that his wife is pregnant with their child, she will make things complicated and difficult for him.
He lowered himself into the chair, facing the wall, trying to think of a wise solution to his dilemma. Due to the unexpected pregnancy, his wife would never agree to the divorce. He knew her very well.
The frozen spell had already worn off, and Luna Viviana slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room. "Wh-where am I?" she sat upright. Then her eyes landed on her husband sitting in the chair, staring at her. Was this a dream?
Wait... she didn't remember seeing her husband yet.
Her mind is foggy, she can't think straight. "What happened?" she murmured, confused, then slowly she recalled everything. She was at the farm and was thanking Grandpa for her pregnancy when she accidentally discovered her husband's dark secret. Her eyes widened in anger. She looked at her husband, her nostrils flaring. "Where is she? Where is your mistress and where is the boy?"
"Calm down," Alpha Callum sighed heavily.
"You want me to calm down? After I discovered that you had a mistress? And you fathered a son with her? Why did you cheat behind my back? Why are you doing this to me?" she asked, seething in anger. Tears of anger and sorrow shimmered in her eyes.
Alpha Callum breathed deeply.
"Why are you not answering me? Answer me, dammit!" she demanded, her eyes spitting fire.
"I'm sorry about what you discovered, but I didn't cheat on you, that's the truth," he said convincingly.
"Are you crazy? You called it not cheating? Do you think I'm dumb?" she yelled resentfully.
Alpha Callum sighed. There's no easy way to end his dilemma. He has to end it today. It's now time to reveal the truth to her.
He met her enraged gaze. "That woman you are talking about is my fated mate. We had a relationship a long time ago and we broke up. I got her pregnant, but she told me that she would marry another guy, and she would abort our baby, but in the end she didn't carry on with her plan. Instead, she gave birth to our son and had another couple raise our child. Then, recently we met and she told me our son was alive. To make the story short, we got our son back, and we got back together. That's the truth," he explained calmly.
Luna Viviana's heart sank. What? That woman was his fated mate, and they had a son together before she married him? Despite learning the truth, she was still furious. "Why did you let her stay at Grandpa's farm? You want to continue seeing her? You want to rekindle your love affair with her? Is that your plan? Is that what you want? Answer me!"
"Yes! That's what I want. I want her back in my life. I'm sorry you have to hear the painful truth from me. But it's the truth. I don't want to lie anymore. I'm sorry I can't avoid hurting you," he sincerely apologized. The truth will hurt her, but he just wants to be honest with her and end their marriage quickly. The faster they can dissolve their marriage, the quicker they can move on with their lives.
Tears filled her eyes. "You really want... to ... divorce me for that woman?" she asked in shock and disbelief. Agonizing pain flashed in her eyes.
"Yes. I want to divorce you," he answered without hesitation.
She winced in pain, shutting her eyes tight for a few minutes, gathering strength. Then she opened her eyes and looked straight into his eyes. "Do you still want to divorce me even if I tell you now that I'm pregnant with our child?" she asked, hoping he would choose her after learning the good news.
"Yes. I still want to divorce you. I already heard about your pregnancy from Grandpa. No worries, I will support you and our baby financially. That's all there is to it. Our marriage is over. Tell me when you are ready to sign the divorce papers. You can sign it anytime," he said casually. No ounce of remorse could be detected in his voice.
His cruel words tore her heart into pieces, making her howl in pain. As her world crumbled around her and tears swarmed her eyes, she lost the will to continue living.
But she can't die yet! She still has her unborn baby to live for. She glared at him, sending daggers into his eyes.
She grabbed the blanket and pillows and threw them all at him. "I hate you! I hate you! I thought my pregnancy would complete our family. But I was wrong! You still want to be with your ex! You are a heartless and cruel monster! I regret marrying you!"
She grabbed the flower figurine and hurled the object at her husband, but he caught it effortlessly and put it down on the table.
"Stop destroying things, Viviana. There's nothing you can do now that can undo everything that's happening between us. No matter what you do, we won't be getting back together. Just sign the divorce papers so we can move on with our lives."
"Get outttttttttt!" Luna Viviana spat at him, grabbing the flower vase and slamming it down on the floor with force, sending the broken pieces scattering onto the floor.
Alpha Callum glared at his hysterical wife. "Stop destroying things, you might hurt yourself or else I will..."
"What? What are you planning to do with me? Finish your statement!" She demanded, trembling in rage as she challenged him.
Alpha Callum groaned in frustration, and started calming down his temper after reminding himself that his wife was pregnant. "I will leave the room now. Please calm down. Our divorce is not a death sentence. It's not the end of our lives. It's the best moment to start a new chapter in our lives. Please think of the positive side, stop being negative," he said, and left the room.
Luna Viviana lay back on the bed and cried her heart out. The room was filled with her sorrowful cry.
A maid entered the room, cleaned the floor silently, then left afterward without saying a word.
After crying for hours, Luna Viviana removed her phone from the pocket of her blazer and sent a text message to someone. Then she continued crying, her eyes swollen with tears.
The heartbreak was too much for her to accept. She doesn't think she can survive another day tormented by pain. She needed to go somewhere to relieve her pain.
She got out of bed, walked to the door and opened it. There were two guards standing outside the door.
"We are sorry, Luna. You can no longer leave the room unless Alpha Callum gives you permission. And if he gives you permission to leave this room, we will accompany you wherever you go to make sure you and the baby are safe," one of the guards explained in a firm tone.
Annoyed, Luna Viviana slammed the door on the guards' face and went back to bed.
Grrrr!
She needs to leave the mansion and find her husband's mistress and kill her!
She wouldn't accept a divorce from her husband! Never!
Now that she is pregnant with the heir of the Savage Howl Pack, she will fight for her throne.
She is the only Luna in their pack, and it will remain that way until she dies.
