13. Do You Still Love Her?
One week later.
Beta Amir entered the office, put his notepad down on his desk and prepared a cup of coffee for his Alpha. A few minutes later, Alpha Callum entered the office.
"Good morning, Alpha," Beta Amir said in greeting. "Here's your black coffee," he said, putting the cup and saucer on the desk.
"Good morning," Alpha Callum replied, sipping his coffee. "Have you already chosen a place to rent for a few days?" he asked.
"Yes I have. The house is private and secured," Beta Amir answered, showing the photo of the house located in a secluded place outside the city proper, a few kilometers from the farm. "It's a vacation house that can be rented for a few days, weeks or even months. I already paid the one-week rent in advance," he added.
"Great. I want to see the place with my own eyes," Alpha Callum said.
"We can go there after we are done inspecting the landslide area," Beta Amir suggested.
"OK. How many houses have been affected by the landslide in Torringway Village?" Alpha Callum asked.
"Twenty households, Alpha," Beta Amir answered. "I have already instructed our men to load the delivery truck with groceries and basic supplies to help the affected homes," he added.
"Alright, let's go now." Alpha Callum rose to his feet and left the office with his assistant.
Leaving the mansion, the men boarded the off-road pickup truck and were followed by another vehicle carrying relief goods to the landslide-affected village.
After a two-hour grueling journey in the pouring rain, they finally reached the affected area. The rain-soaked families greeted them excitedly.
Alpha Callum and his men distributed relief goods and groceries, and they promised the affected families that on their next visit they would bring construction materials, so the homeless victims could build their houses on safer ground.
"Thank you so much for coming personally to see our condition, Alpha. We appreciate it very much," said one of the women crying helplessly while cradling her infant child.
"I'm sorry that you lost your houses, but I'm also glad that no one died in the landslide. I will do everything in my power to help you build your houses at the soonest possible time," Alpha Callum said in a sincere tone.
"Thank you for your concern and help, Alpha Callum. You are the best Alpha ever!" The crowd cheered happily, thankful that their leader was willing to help them recover quickly from the tragedy that had fallen upon them.
After chatting with the affected families one by one and giving them assurance that he and his men would return to help them rebuild their houses, Alpha Callum and his men finally left the village.
Alpha Callum ordered the truck driver and his men to go home while he and his assistant proceeded to the rented vacation house.
After one hour of traveling, they finally reached the place. It's a gated vacation house located on one hectare of land surrounded by trees.
Beta Amir took the key from his pocket and opened the gate and parked the car in the driveway. They exited the car and walked to the two-story house.
The men entered the house. They checked the rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen and the living room.
"What do you think of the house, Alpha?" Beta Amir asked.
"It's good enough for a short stay," Alpha Callum replied.
"Let's check the swimming pool at the back of the house," Beta Amir said.
Upon entering the backyard, they were greeted with the sight of sparkling water in a kidney-shaped swimming pool.
"The pool looks nice," Alpha Callum commented.
"Shall I go to the farm today and bring the women here?" Beta Amir inquired.
"No need." Alpha Callum shook his head. "I will bring them here myself."
"When? Tonight or tomorrow morning?" Beta Amir asked.
"Right now because my wife and I will visit the farm tomorrow. Viviana wants to start traveling early in the morning," Alpha Callum explained. "Wait here while I teleport to the farm and bring the women here," he ordered.
"Copy, Alpha," Beta Amir responded with a nod of his head.
Alpha Callum initiated teleportation in his mind and vanished from the living room in a split second.
Beta Amir went to the kitchen, plugged in the hot and cold dispenser and made a cup of coffee. Finished making his coffee, he went to the pool area, and settled on the sun lounger. He sipped his coffee, admiring the sparkling water of the pool.
He was wondering how Luna Viviana would react if she discovered that her husband kept a woman on the farm? And her husband had a son with that woman? Luna Viviana told him a long time ago to keep an eye on her husband and to report to her if he started seeing other women behind her back.
Things are going to be complicated later on because Clarice is not just another woman for the Alpha. She is the mother of Alpha Callum's son, she was also his fated mate.
All hell will break loose if Luna Viviana discovers the truth.
Although Alpha Callum is a good-looking guy, he is not a womanizer and has been loyal to Luna Viviana through the years. This is the first time the Alpha got involved with another woman, and he can't report this thing to Luna Viviana because his loyalty is always towards his Alpha.
He will cross the bridge when the shit hits the fan.
As of now, nothing serious is happening yet. He might as well enjoy his coffee, the pool and the peaceful surroundings before the storm arrives.
Meanwhile, back on the farm.
Alpha Callum was chatting with Grandpa Eliezer in the living room while Lorey was packing their clothes and other stuff in the room upstairs.
"I have already given Clarice instructions regarding her medicine," Grandpa Eliezer said.
"Thanks, Pops. The girls will return here after one week," Alpha Callum replied.
Grandpa Eliezer sighed. "Your wife will pester me again about creating more fertility medicine so she can give you a child."
"I'm sorry about that, Pops. You can ignore her or humor her, it's up to you," Alpha Callum said.
"Poor Viviana, she still can't accept that she is a barren woman," Grandpa Eliezer stated gloomily.
"Yeah. I told her to give up already, but she won't listen to me. I'm tired of telling her it's alright if we don't have children together," Alpha Callum said calmly.
"Now that you know you had a child with Clarice, your life is already complete. Am I right, son?" Grandpa Eliezer asked with a smile.
"Yeah sort of," Alpha Callum grinned brightly.
"And you are finally reunited with your fated mate. How does it feel seeing Clarice again after all these years?" Grandpa asked curiously.
Alpha Callum shrugged, not ready yet to talk about his feelings towards Clarice. He kept his mouth shut, choosing not to answer the questions thrown at him.
Grandpa Eliezer studied Callum's face closely and asked, "Do you still have romantic feelings for Clarice?"
