22. When I Look At You
Seven days later.
On Sunday morning, Alpha Callum and Luna Viviana can be seen loading their bags into the vehicle.
The couple bid farewell to Grandpa Eliezer.
"Grandpa, thank you for taking good care of me. And thank you so much for fertility medicine. I can already feel its good effect on my body," Luna Viviana said gratefully.
"Don't mention it," Grandpa Eliezer replied, smiling. "I hope you had a good time on your one-week vacation here at the farm, dear," he said sincerely.
Luna Viviana smiled brightly and said, "I did! My husband has been great to me the whole week. I hope he will stay that way for me forever. Thank you for everything, Grandpa."
"Alright, Pops, we're going now," Alpha Callum said, then slid into the driver's seat, starting the engine of the vehicle.
"Drive safely, son. Take care, guys," Grandpa Eliezer said, waving his hand.
Luan Viviana waved goodbye to Grandpa Eliezer as their vehicle was moving away from the farm house.
A few moments later, Grandpa Eliezer could no longer see the car. He returns to the house to get the chicken pellets and feed the chickens. Afterward, he will attend to his vegetable garden.
Meanwhile, inside the moving car, the couple listened to mellow music from the car stereo.
"Hon, I'm planning to visit my aunt in Australia. I will stay there for one month. Will that be okay with you?" Luna Viviana asked.
"No problem. You can stay there as long as you want," he said, his attention glued to the road ahead.
"Is there any chance you can join me there? Even for just three days?" she said, wanting him to join her abroad to visit her aunt at her father's side.
"I'll see what I can do. It all depends on how busy I am with Alpha duties. If I'm not busy, I'll follow you there and stay with you for a few days," he said, not wanting to dampen her excitement.
"That's awesome! Three days is enough for me. I won't ask for more, promise." Luna Viviana gushed in glee. "But don't force yourself if you are very busy. I understand your busy schedule," she said.
"I will try my best," Alpha Callum said.
"Thank you, hon. You make me happy. Our vacation on the farm started badly but ended well. I appreciate it very much. Don't worry, with Grandpa's fertility medicine, we will finally have a baby soon," she said wistfully, caressing her belly gently with her hand.
Alpha Callum knows that it's better to humor his wife all the time and not contradict her to maintain peace in their lives. He nodded his head. "Hopefully so," he said softly.
Luna Viviana looked out the window and smiled radiantly while admiring the beautiful scenery of the countryside. She was planning to seek fertility treatment in Australia just in case Grandpa Eliezer's fertility medicine failed again.
She refused to stay barren for life. She will do anything to get pregnant with her husband's baby, even if she travels to the ends of the earth to find the cure for her fertility problem.
Time has passed by.
After a few hours of travel, the couple finally arrived at the mansion. The servant took the bags to the master's bedroom while the couple can be seen resting in the living room, eating a delicious snack.
After snack time was over, the couple retired to their room and changed their attire.
Luna Viviana climbed onto the bed for her afternoon nap while Alpha Callum proceeded to his office to talk to his assistant.
"Welcome back, Alpha. I hope you enjoy your vacation in the farm house," Beta Amir said with a smile.
Alpha Callum nodded his head. He locked the door the moment he stepped into his home office and settled down on his desk. "Do you have anything important to report to me today?" he asked.
"Nothing pressing to report today, Alpha," Beta Amir replied.
"OK. How about the landslide victims? Give me an update," he said.
"Our men were still out there, helping the people erect their new homes on much safer ground. I just visited the area yesterday. The house construction is going well," Beta Amir explained.
"Good," Alpha Callum said, pleased with the good news. He stood up. "Let's go somewhere," he said.
"Where, Alpha?" Beta Amir asked.
"I'm going to bring Clarice and Lorey back to the farm," he answered in a low voice.
"Ah, okay," Beta Amir said, rising to his feet.
The two men exited the office, boarded the car that was parked in the driveway and left the house.
After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the rental house.
The women had already finished packing and were already waiting in the living room with their bags, feeling excited about returning to the farm house.
Alpha Callum looked at Clarice. "Girls, are you ready to go back to the farm?" he asked.
"Yes, very much! I miss the farm house and the lake!" Clarice replied enthusiastically.
"I'm very excited. I missed the vegetable garden," Lorey said, smiling brightly.
The men picked up the bags and deposited them in the car's trunk.
"Alright, let's go!" Alpha Callum said, assisting Clarice into the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Beta Amir was assigned to drive the car. He looked at Lorey and signaled her to sit in the front seat to give the couple some privacy during the journey.
Lorey quickly got into the front seat.
Beta Amir went back to the house to double-check everything. He checked if the windows and doors were already locked and all the appliances were unplugged. Done checking, he left the house, locked the gate and went back to the car. He inserted the car key into the ignition and started the engine. "Everything is clear now, girls? Are you sure you didn't forget important things inside the house?" he asked to be sure.
"I'm sure we didn't leave anything in the house. Everything is clear," Clarice answered confidently.
"Alright, let's go!" Beta Amir turned on the car stereo and melodious instrumental music filled the air.
In the passenger seat, the couple were restricted to holding hands only. The couple can't act lovey-dovey inside the car. They can't wait to be reunited alone in the room again.
They just looked at each other, smiling, communicating through their minds via the mind link that Alpha Callum established between him and Clarice a few days ago.
'How is your wife?' she asked.
'She was sleeping on the bed in our room when Amir and I left the house a few hours ago,' he explained.
'You no longer had a fight with her?' she asked.
'Yes, after I followed your advice. I just humored her and gave her what she wanted. She mellowed down after I followed your tips,' he said.
'Good, I'm happy for you and your wife. Less conflict for you and her,' she said calmly.
'Yeah. You are right,' he replied.
'My wife is planning to go to Australia to visit her aunt. She will stay there for one month,' he said.
Clarice smiled. 'Nice! By that time, I can finally walk again without the help of crutches. We can finally see our son!' she said excitedly.
'Yes. That's also my plan,' he said.
'I love you,' she said sweetly, looking affectionately at his face.
He smiled, looking at her with soft affection flashing in his eyes. 'I love you more, babe.'
Alpha Callum and Clarice felt content holding each other's hands.
Time went by.
The couple wore a happy smile on their faces during the entire journey back to the farm.
After a few hours of travelling, they finally arrived at the farm house. Grandpa Eliezer was not in the house when they arrived.
Alpha Callum opened the main door with his spare key.
The men took the bags into the room on the second floor.
Beta Amir and Lorey left the room and went back downstairs.
Alone in the room, Alpha Callum cupped Clarice's face lovingly and planted a kiss on her lips. "I'll visit you tomorrow, babe," he said.
"OK. I'll wait for your visit," Clarice responded cheerily.
Alpha Callum kissed her lips again and bid her goodbye. "Gotta go," he said reluctantly.
"OK. Bye, babe," she replied.
Alpha Callum walked to the door and exited.
Clarice picked up a bag from the floor and began unpacking her things, putting them back in the closet.
Outside the house, Alpha Callum and Beta Amir were chatting with Grandpa Eliezer, who had just come back from fishing in the lake.
After the men's chat was over, Alpha Callum and Beta Amir boarded the vehicle and left the farm, heading back to the mansion.
