103. Black Eagle
"What's that awful smell?" Clarice's nose crinkled. She wanted to throw up. She quickly covered her nose with the hem of her blouse. "What the hell is this room about? Why are there so many drums? And the smell is terrible!" she complained as she saw two men wearing white masks on their faces. They are in the process of pouring liquid into the drums.
"This is the elimination room where dead bodies are submerged in acid to hide evidence. Eliminating bodies this way is better than burying bodies in the ground," Demetria explained.
Clarice looked at the empty drum near her and was horrified to see the lifeless body of a ten-year-old girl inside. "Save the girl, Demetria!" she shouted urgently.
"The girl is already dead. There's nothing we can do anymore. The police authorities will come after we are done here. I'll make sure her body won't be dissolved in acid," Demetria said reassuringly. She opened her right hand, and a sharp knife appeared in her palm.
"What are you doing?" Clarice asked, confused.
"I will kill these murderers!" Demetria responded indignantly. In swift movement, she slit the throats of the two guys nearest her.
Clarice was shocked at the way Demetria killed the men without remorse.
"Dear, the three guys in the corner are yours. Kill them now! Avenge the innocent victims they killed in the past!" Demetria ordered, putting the bloody knife dripping with fresh blood in Clarice's hand.
Clarice was hesitating. It's now or never!
"Come on, Clarice! Give justice to the victims. You have the power to avenge them. Don't hesitate. Do it now so their souls can finally rest in peace," Demetria ordered fiercely.
Clarice takes a deep breath. There is no turning back. She can only move forward from this moment onward.
She is going to do it for all the innocent souls who die in these men's hands. A feeling of rage enveloped Clarice's consciousness, and with trembling hands, she walked towards the three guys in the corner and slit their throats without mercy, then turned her back on them. She couldn't bear to see the blood oozing from their necks, so revolting to look at.
"Bravo! Finally, you made it!" Demetria gushed happily, clapping her hands in glee. "See? Killing is easy-peasy once you have the power to freeze everyone."
Clarice was speechless. She was still in shock that she had killed three people tonight. Everything happened so fast, she was still reeling from the shock.
"Are you okay, dear?" Demetria asked, grinning while inspecting her companion's face. "Congratulations! You passed your first challenge with flying colors!" she said ecstatically.
"Take me out of here!" Clarice said urgently, visibly shaken after killing three people tonight.
"No. Not yet. I still have to kill all these bad people. They don't deserve to live another minute more!" Demetria said. "Allow me to take you to the next room to see your reward!" She grabbed Clarice's hands, pulling her to the next room.
The room they entered was cramped and filled with frozen children, women and teenagers wearing terrified expressions on their faces. A look of hopelessness and despair was etched on their faces.
Demetria cleared the lump in her throat. "There are about a hundred of them in this room, waiting to be slaughtered. Thanks to us, they are spared from death and will be returned to their grieving families after the police authorities finish their investigation."
Clarice scanned the faces of the kidnapped victims, feeling the excruciating pain and worry their families are suffering right now.
"Stay here and watch them. This is your reward for punishing the bad guys. You saved the victims, and you must be proud of yourself. I will finish the rest!" Demetria said and left the room.
Clarice continues to stare at the victims' faces, no longer questioning her life's choices. She has already made the choice tonight by killing three criminals without mercy. She became a murderer for a good cause!
When Demetria returned to the room, Clarice was ready to embrace everything.
"Let's go home. I'm done killing everyone. I spared the guards outside for a reason," Demetria said.
With a wave of Demetria's hands, she and Clarice disappeared out of the room and back into the house.
"I'm going to my room to rest," Clarice said, her face looking haggard.
"Rest well, dear." Demetria replied cheerfully. She was pleased that her plan succeeded tonight.
The process of grooming Clarice to be her successor has finally started.
She opened her palm and a phone appeared. She placed a call on someone.
"Wazz up black eagle?" a woman's voice said in a greeting. "Any leads tonight?"
"I actually have a gift for you. I recently massacred human kidnappers just awhile ago because they were harvesting human organs illegally from their victims and dissolving their corpses in drums filled with acid. There are survivors alive and cramped in a room, about a hundred of them. Don't worry they are alive and well, but I killed the bad guys," Demetria explained, disguised in a male voice.
"Nice! Good job. Thank you for your help. Illegal organ harvesting is currently rampant, and we are still trying to find the mastermind of this organized syndicate. Kidnappings occur all over the country nowadays," the woman replied. "Um, did you leave some people alive for questioning?"
"Yeah. I spared the guard outside, and you can also check evidence found all over the place. I'm sure you can find something valuable to aid your investigation. Good luck!" Demetria said.
"Um, one more question. Are the guards armed? I don't want to lose any of my men tonight. I just lost two of my best men last month to terrorism. Thank God you came to save us or else we're already dead. I can't afford to lose more. Will you be there?" the woman asked.
"Don't worry, I'll be there when you and your men arrive. I already disarmed the guards, so no fighting will occur, and no more lives will be lost in your operation tonight," Demetria said reassuringly.
"OK. Thanks! I will gather my team now," the woman said.
"Yes, you can do that. I will give you the address of the place," Demetria said. She types the address, sends it to her contact, and then teleports back to the hideout of the organ-harvesting syndicate.
When she arrived there, it was total pandemonium.
Something happened while she and Clarice went home.
She hovered in the air in her invisible form and observed the chaotic situation on the ground.
Two cars filled with heavily armed men arrived and tried to load the kidnapped victims into delivery vans. The rest of the men are trying to destroy evidence inside the facility and others can be seen loading their dead comrades into another van. The guards she spared earlier are still in a frozen state.
Demetria's eyes glowed with murderous intent. It looks like she will have to murder some more tonight!
"Killing time!" she murmured coldly.
She unleashed her power, waving her hands in the air, freezing everyone within a thirty-meter radius. She descended onto the ground and began her rampage. This time she didn't use her favorite weapon of destruction.
Too much blood! She can't even drink these men's blood, it disgusts her!
She performed another method of killing: she coated the men's faces with the jelly-like substance, not allowing air to enter their lungs, suffocating them in the process. They will die before the police arrive.
Half an hour later...
The police arrived, led by their team captain, Capt. Martha Huskinson. She barked her orders and the men sprang into action.
Demetria remained hovering in the air, watching the police operation happening on the ground.
She waved her hand and unfroze everyone.
One hour later, the police had everything under control.
She lingered in the air for a few more minutes, making sure nothing could go wrong. She finally left the area when the media finally arrived.
When Demetria returned home, she checked her protégé in her room. The poor girl had fallen asleep after killing those bad guys tonight.
She smiled, pleased with the progress of her plan. "There will be more killings in the future once you finally step into my shoes, dear," she murmured and left the room.
