53. Next Goal!
Alpha Callum groaned. As much as he didn't want to prolong Viviana's madness, he was also aware that she was struggling to accept the reality of her current situation. Now that the dust had settled, and she was no longer the high and mighty Luna Viviana of the Savage Howl Pack, her world crumbled around her, making her depressed, weak and emotional.
It must be very difficult for her to accept the changes happening at once.
He allowed her to cry in his arms as much as she wanted, and rubbed her back gently, comforting her. Despite the millions she got from him, she was still not happy at all. She might be starting to regret her actions after trying to act brave and cool in handling the divorce.
"Hubby, I regret divorcing you. Take back everything you gave me. I just want us to be together as husband and wife again," she said between tears, sobbing hard in his arms, clinging to him like she was drowning in the ocean of her misery.
At that very moment, Alpha Callum felt guilty. He was the cause of his ex-wife's misery and if he denied her the compassion she craved, the child in her womb might suffer.
"Calm down, let's get you back to the room," he said, stepping into the room with her.
She clung to him even more, afraid that if she loosened her grip on him, he would disappear from her eyes.
Alpha Callum closed the door behind them and settled his ex-wife on the bed.
She looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please let's undo the divorce!" she begged, her eyes swollen with tears.
Alpha Callum shook his head. "No. We have already signed the divorce papers and I have already given you your demands. We can't undo everything," he refused in a firm voice.
Devastated by his cold reply, Viviana continued crying, wetting the pillow with her tears. She cried uncontrollably, her body shaking, deeply affected by the misery and grief she felt inside.
Alpha Callum rubbed her back gently, listening to her cries, trying to stay calm for her sake.
The room was filled with the sound of Viviana's weeping, making him uncomfortable. But he couldn't leave her alone during the weakest time of her life because he was the reason for her suffering.
He sighed inwardly. He promised the old man that he would never leave his daughter alone, and he would take care of her for the rest of her life. He had no plans for cheating or betraying Viviana to another woman during their marriage. But he didn't expect that he and Clarice would get back together. He thought they would never rekindle their love affair again.
Because of his action, one woman is suffering right now and another woman is happy.
It's all his fault, he will take full responsibility for the result of his action. He vows to provide financial support to Viviana and their child for the rest of their lives as his atonement for his sins.
"Don't leave me, I'm so heartbroken right now," she begged between sobs, clinging to his arms, panicking that he would leave the moment she let go of his hand.
He took a deep breath and nodded his head. "Just calm down. I won't leave," he assured her. "I'll get you water from the kitchen," he said.
She reluctantly let go of his hand, watching him leave the room painfully. Every step he took broke her heart into pieces. She began crying again. All the tears she kept inside were flowing down her cheeks in torrents.
She only realized the magnitude of her mistake when she finally relocated to this house.
She is alone now. A divorced woman. Only the baby in her womb is her companion.
She felt so miserable and lonely. She felt like her life had no value, like a discarded doll no longer needed.
She already misses having a husband by her side.
But it's too late now, the damage has been done. She can no longer turn back time after successfully signing the divorce papers.
It's over between her and her ex-husband. They no longer have any legal connection with each other except for the child they both shared.
She might not be able to hold on to her ex-husband because they are already officially divorced, but her child can still help connect the bridge between them.
She placed her hand on her belly, caressing the baby bump growing in her tummy.
Her eyes gleamed. A plan was formed in her mind. A plan so brilliant it made her smile brightly.
All is not lost after all!
She still has a chance to reclaim everything she lost with meticulous planning.
One day, she will reclaim what she lost by executing her plans when the perfect time arrives.
She faced the wall and began making rapid plans in her mind.
The door opened, and Alpha Callum entered the room, holding a tray with a pitcher of water and glass. He placed the tray on the table, poured water on the glass and gave it to Viviana. "Here's the water. You should drink it," he said.
Smiling, Viviana faced him and took the glass. "Thanks," she said, and drank the water.
Alpha Callum put the empty glass on the table and looked at her, examining her face. "Are you alright? Are you okay now?" he asked, worried about her mental and emotional condition.
"I'm fine now. Thank you for your concern. Thank you for accompanying me at the lowest moment of my life. Thank you for everything. I wish you and your fated mate a happy marriage. May your married life with her be filled with happiness, good health and plenty of blessings," she said, her tone sincere.
Alpha Callum was silently observing the expression on her face, trying to see if she had already recovered from her depression.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked when she noticed he was observing her face closely.
"I'm just trying to make sure you are okay before I leave," he said calmly.
She smiled. "I'm fine. I'm finished with my meltdown. At least you are here. You saw the result of what you did to me. But don't let it bother you, I will surely bounce back from this defeat in due time. I'm feeling the blues right now. I will be perfectly alright in the days to come. I have the best house and the best ocean view on my doorstep. I already have everything I need. What else could I want?" she said, grinning happily as if her meltdown earlier was already a thing of the past.
Alpha Callum fell silent, brooding at the sudden shift in her mood.
"I will move on with the help of our baby. I will raise her well. I will be the best mother in the world for her. I will make sure of that," she said, her eyes glowing.
Satisfied with the way she looked right now, full of positivity, Alpha Callum decided it was time to leave. He stood up and said, "You look fine to me. I will take my leave."
"Sure! Thank you for visiting me. I hope you can still visit me once in a while so I can show you pictures of our baby growing in my tummy," she said wistfully, no longer trying to beg for his time and attention, wanting him to take the initiative since he was the father of her unborn child.
"Yes, I will visit you once a month to check how you are doing and to check on our baby's progress as well," he said. One thing is for sure, he couldn't fully trust Viviana's volatile emotions.
"Fine with me," she murmured. "Leave now. I want to take a long rest and recharge," she said, kicking him out of the room.
Alpha Callum looked at her face one last time then turned around, walked to the door and exited.
Yes! Viviana smiled triumphantly. A window of opportunity had just been opened for her. She will grab it with open arms.
The plan that popped up in her mind is taking shape now, giving her energy and motivation to continue her life.
She is looking forward to the fruition of her plan.
Rising from the ashes of her failure and shining even brighter in the future to come is her next goal!
