71. Why Are You Here?
The following day, Alpha Callum's family woke up to a beautiful sun-filled day, excited to welcome their visitors.
The family had breakfast in the dining room at 8:00 in the morning, then everyone went to the back of the mansion where the party would be held.
Caden and Lorey were having fun watching the party organizer put inflatables and other kiddie entertainment all around the garden. The party decorators were busy beautifying the place, putting balloons and confetti on the branches of the trees.
The party will start at 3:00 in the afternoon and last until 8:00 or 9:00 in the evening.
The caterer had arrived at the mansion and set up their long buffet table.
The mansion was filled with a flurry of activities.
At 12:00 noon the preparation of the back of the house was finished.
Clarice and Alpha Callum watched the finished product in awe and satisfaction. The back of the house was turned into a mini-theme park. The striking colors of the inflatables produced festive vibes complemented by the colorful balloons.
"Wow, amazing!" Clarice smiled, clapping her hands in delight, pleased with the beautiful result of the party venue filled with vibrant decoration.
"Mommy, Daddy, I want my birthday celebration to be like this!" Caden jumped up and down in glee.
Clarice hugged her son lovingly. "Sure, son!"
"Our backyard was suddenly turned into a mini theme park. I'm mind blown! Now the missing pieces are the visitors," Alpha Callum said, pleased with the backyard transformation.
"The visitors will start arriving at 2:00 in the afternoon and this place will become crowded like a public park," Clarice said excitedly.
They returned to the house.
They had lunch at 12:30 noon in the dining room.
After lunch, Clarice and Alpha Callum prepared the prices and gifts in the box ready to be distributed later to the staff and guests.
The excitement in Alpha Callum's household was climbing to a feverish pitch as the start of the party was fast approaching.
But the arrival of an unexpected visitor destroyed their mood.
Viviana arrived at Alpha Callum's mansion unannounced in a taxi, holding her baby girl in her hands, with one sole purpose: to gatecrash the event. "Tell Alpha Callum that his daughter is here!" she said in a commanding tone.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, you can't come in because there is an event going on in the mansion right now, and you were not invited. I'm sorry you are not allowed inside. Please go home," the guard apologized politely.
Viviana glared at the guard. "How dare you? Can't you see? I'm holding your Alpha's daughter in my arms, and you still refuse our entry?"
"OK. Wait a minute, ma'am, I'll inform Beta Amir," the guard said, scratching his head, surprised by the former Luna's sudden appearance at such an intimate event.
"Hurry up! You acted like you didn't know me!" Viviana ordered angrily, annoyed that the guard refused to give her fast entry to the mansion despite her being the original Luna before the new wife came.
The guard looked at her in astonishment, ruffled by her foul mood.
"What are you waiting for? Call them now and inform them that Alpha Callum's daughter is here!" Viviana demanded in an authoritative tone.
"Copy, ma'am!" The guard sprang into action and contacted the mansion right away.
Back in the mansion, Beta Amir explicitly ordered the guard not to allow Viviana entry to the mansion. He quickly reported the bad news to the couple.
Clarice's face turned dark instantly. She groaned in dismay. "Why does she have to arrive today? She had already destroyed my mood!" she pouted in dismay. Tears of frustration filled her eyes.
Alpha Callum sighed heavily. "Viviana is annoying as hell! She's trying to destroy our mood today," he said, grinding his teeth in anger.
"She is not welcome here!" Clarice cried in protest. She looked at her husband. "Please send her away. I won't be able to enjoy the party in this condition. I don't like her attending the party. It's an intimate party for us. She is not included on the visitors list!" she pleaded.
Alpha Callum embraced his distraught wife. "Shh, calm down. Don't cry, I will send Viviana home," he assured her.
"Thank you," Clarice said in relief.
Alpha Callum left his wife's side and walked to the door to meet Viviana outside the house.
Clarice was left fuming in the living room. She couldn't believe that Viviana would choose to come to the mansion today to ruin her mood.
How did Viviana know she was having a party to celebrate their first year wedding anniversary?
Is there a mole or spy inside the mansion, reporting the family's daily activities to Viviana?
If there is a spy, then who are they? Should she start investigating and questioning everyone's loyalty?
Who among the old servants is still loyal to Viviana?
As far as she knows, when she married Alpha Callum and stayed in the mansion, they retained the old house staff, and no one was fired from their job.
The more she thought about it, the more she realized that the old servants might still have contact with their old mistress. It's deeply unsettling because it's easy to bribe anyone with money these days.
But who among the servants betrayed them?
Or maybe Viviana got the party information from another source? But how?
Her head began to throb painfully, deeply affected by Viviana's sudden arrival. She doesn't care if she comes out as a rude host. She would accept any visitor, just not Viviana.
She massaged her temples gently to lessen the pain in her head. It looks like she needs a power nap to get rid of the stress Viviana has caused her. She left the sofa, climbed the staircase and went to the master's bedroom to take a few minutes of sleep before the visitors arrived. Sleeping would stop the throbbing pain in her head.
The moment she arrived in the room, she lay on the bed and closed her eyes to sleep.
Meanwhile...
At the guard house, Alpha Callum was in a heated argument with his ex-wife.
"Why did you have to come today?" he asked in annoyance, holding his baby daughter in his arms.
"Why? What's wrong? You haven't visited our baby yet this month, so I came today so you can see our baby. Am I wrong?" Viviana said innocently.
Alpha Callum sighed heavily. "You can't come to the mansion unannounced. You have to ask permission from my wife first," he said between gritted teeth.
"Why can others join the party but your daughter and I can't join the children's party? This is unfair!" Viviana protested, enjoying her ex-husband's discomfort, wanting to annoy everyone in the party, especially Charice.
Still holding his baby in his arms, Alpha Callum ordered the guard to pay the taxi driver's fare and instructed him to leave.
Viviana grinned happily. Finally, her ex-husband is willing to allow her and her daughter to have fun at the party. Mission accomplished! She was feeling ecstatic.
"Let's go inside the guard house and continue talking there. The sun's glare is harming our daughter's fragile skin," Alpha Callum said calmly.
Viviana entered the guardhouse, and she was happy because he was holding her arms. Wow, he was getting touchy-feely with her again, and she liked it!
What she didn't anticipate was Alpha Callum's intention...
Before Viviana realized his plan, the three of them vanished instantly from the guard house.
A few minutes later they landed in her bedroom in the beach house.
Vivana was furious because it was too late for her to do anything. She was back at her house on the beach, too soon for her liking!
Enraged, she shot daggers into his eyes. "You are so mean to me and your daughter!" she said, crying instantly.
"You stay here and behave! You have no right to ruin our party. You are not welcome there. That party is not for you. Do you understand?" Alpha Callum scolded her, putting his daughter down gently on the bed, kissing her head gently.
"I hate you! I hate your wife! I hate you all!" Viviana screamed at the top of her lungs.
The baby was suddenly awakened by her mother's loud voice and began crying. Viviana rushed to her daughter's side and breastfed her baby to silence her.
Alpha Callum's nostrils were flaring, vexed that Viviana was acting like a child, throwing a tantrum.
"Don't go back to the mansion, or I will have you thrown in jail for trespassing, then I will have full custody of our child. Don't push my bottom line!" He gave his ex-wife a warning look and teleported back to the mansion.
Viviana's eyes were swarming with tears as feelings of hatred intensified in her heart.
She glanced at the window in her room. "You and your wife will pay one day!" she said furiously.
