Chapter 112— A Facade?
A Week Later....
It was a Saturday, Henderson went out with the kids while Lena was spending some time with Cleo and Irene who paid her a visit.
"Oh, you are on your way. Well, I can't wait to see you. Just let the security know that you are here to see me and they'll let you in." Lena smiled before hanging up.
"What is it?" Lena questioned seeing the different facial expressions Irene and Cleo had.
"Is someone coming?" Irene inquired.
"Yeah, you seem very happy," Cleo added.
"Well, Venita is visiting. She's already on her way." Lena told them.
"What!" They gasped at the same time getting on their feet.
"You are joking right?"
Irene looked at Lena with an amused brow. But Lena shook her head and shrugged which meant she was really serious about what she just said.
"I told you, Lena. This is a bad idea." Irene stated walking around the room.
"What is a bad idea?" Lena asked acting oblivious.
"Lena, I think you should listen to Irene. I still do not get it, how did you two even start talking to each other and then became friends and now she's visiting? Did you invite her or what?" Cleo muttered her brows knitted together and she pursed her lips.
She thought that after all, they had said that day it was going to be enough to make Lena see that becoming friends with Venita was a very bad idea and wasn't going to turn out well.
"At the event, she asked for my help with her zipper and then she asked if we could be friends I said yes and we exchanged contact. She even called me up the night after we got back from the event to ask if I had gotten home which was really nice of her. And we've been talking on the phone ever since so I invited her over."
"You did what?" Irene exhaled in disbelief swerving to face Lena.
"Seriously, you need to have a rethink, Lena. So of all the people who she could ask for help from it was you she chose, and then just like that she wanted to be friends, and she being caring and nice and you don't find that suspicious?" Cleo lifted an eyebrow at Lena.
Irene breathed deeply, she gestured to Cleo to let her talk to her sister.
"Since you have refused to put the pieces together and see the picture in front of you. I would gladly analyse it for you, first it appears Venita stalked you and being the good girl you are, you fell for it. Maybe she even purposely messed up with her zipper, it was all a part of the plan. Let me go straight to the point, she just wants to get back with Henderson using you. I mean it's common, no offense but anyone with common sense must have figured that out by now."
Lena smiled gently unfazed by Irene's remarks and took a sharp breath.
"Ladies, you guys have to calm down. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with being friends with Venita. I know you all are not in support of my friendship with her because she is Henderson's ex but I don't have a problem with that neither does Henderson. Moreover, she has a boyfriend, she even introduced him to me and Henderson."
"It's all part of the plan." A pronounced sigh left Irene's lips and she rolled her eyes.
"Irene is hundred percent right" Irene supported.
Lena was about to reply to them but the doorbell rang and she stood up to her feet.
Her face lit up and she clasped her hands together.
"Ladies, I'm asking.... no I'm pleading. Please be nice to her. You guys are going to love her."
With that, Lena ambled to the door and pulled it open revealing Venita whose mouth curved into a smile the moment she saw Lena.
"Venita. You are welcome." Lena smiled.
"Hi, Lena." Venita stepped in and stretched her arm out for a hug.
Lena hugged her. After they broke the hug, Lena closed the door and led her to the living room.
"Hi," Venita greeted smiling politely when she saw Irene and Cleo who were standing beside each other.
"Venita, this is Irene my sister and Cleo Henderson's cousin." Lena introduced.
Deep down in her heart, she hoped that Irene and Cleo would act cool and treat Venita well but from the fake smiles plastered on their faces, she started to doubt that would happen.
"Nice meeting you two. I'm..."
"Venita Rodriguez," Irene completed.
"Henderson's ex-girlfriend," Cleo added.
Cleo and Irene glanced at each other before shifting their gaze back to Venita who was rendered speechless. Their eyes roamed Venita from head to toe and they exchanged glances once again.
"Actually, we were doing something before you came in. Excuse us." Cleo forced a smile and Irene nodded in affirmation. They ambled away acting oblivious to the fact that Lena was staring daggers at them.
"Seems like they don't like me very much," Venita mustered a smile covering her hurt.
"I'm sorry about that. They are really nice, they'll come around. Have your seat." Lena cracked a smile plopping on the couch and Venita did the same.
"Lena, I'm sorry I did not tell you that I was Henderson's ex-girlfriend. I lied to you, I just thought that you wouldn't want to be friends with me. I'm sorry."
"No, it's fine. Even though I'm not happy you didn't tell but it doesn't matter anyway." Lena shrugged.
"So what would you like to have, Venita." Lena inquired standing up.
"Did you even see the clothes she's wearing? How dare she dress like a seductress and come here?" Cleo huffed in annoyance. She and Irene were in the kitchen and they couldn't stop grousing about Venita's presence. If it was up to them they would just kick the lady out and have some peace.
"What's with that really short skirt and the crop top? Exposing almost every part of her body confirms to me that she's here on a mission but my sister can't even see that." Irene sighed.
"You both seem so pissed I could hear your complaints and grumblings from outside. Is everything alright?" Madam Carmen inquired as she came into the kitchen.
"No, Auntie. Nothing is alright, Lena is losing it. You should talk to her." Irene sighed.
"Yeah," Cleo cooed.
"Well, tell me everything." Concern etched Madam Carmen's features.
About thirty minutes later, Henderson returned with the kids and he wasn't happy about Venita's presence so he just acted like she wasn't there. But when he noticed Lena was unhappy about it he just said hi to Venita and then went upstairs with the kids.
"I need to use the restroom, can you please tell me where I can find it?" Venita asked.
"OK, just go upstairs and take the right turn. You will find a restroom there, or do you want me to show you?"
Venita shook her head, "No, it's fine. You are playing with the kids I don't want to interrupt you."
"Mommy, I don't like her." Itzel made a screwed up her face once Venita was gone.
"Me too, her smile looks fake." Trent nodded in support.
"See even your kids can see that but you can't, you are very smart." Irene who came out of nowhere sassed earning a glare from Lena but she it didn't stop her from saying the next word.
"Where is she even going? I hope she's not trying to go seduce..."
"Don't even complete that!" Lena interrupted glaring hard at Irene.
"Be mindful of what you say in front of the kids," Lena warned her icy stare not leaving Irene who gave her an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry," Irene apologised.
"Ouch," Venita winced in pain after crashing on the floor, she had just come out of the restroom and was walking when she bumped into Henderson, she missed a step and fell to the floor before she could regain her stamina.
"What are you doing here?" Henderson's voice was stern, his eyes narrowed as he stared down at her.
A soft chuckle left Venita's lips and she extended her hand to Henderson expecting him to take her hand and help her up but he just stared at her hand without taking it, he glared at her and ambled away.
Venita sprang up to her feet. She pulled Henderson by the arm when she caught up with him.
"Wait Hender."
He pulled his hand from her grip and veered to face her. His eyes were blazing with rage, a frown marred his face as his gaze descended upon her.
"Don't you ever do that again. It's Henderson not whatever you just called me right now."
Henderson pursed his lips and folded his hands across his chest.
"Come off the facade, what is it you want?"
A lewd smile took over Venita's face and she licked her lips seductively, "You, Henderson. I want you. I've missed you."
She moved closer to Henderson and made to touch him but when she saw the fierce look in his blue orbs she withdrew her hand.
"I've missed us. I still love you. And I don't mind being your mistress, you don't have to divorce your wife."
"You are crazy and don't you dare talk about my wife. I don't love you, I never even loved you. You were just a fling, I made that clear to you a long time ago, didn't I?" Henderson seethed through clenched teeth, his eyes darkened with rage.
"Really? Is Lena better than I am? She's not even smart enough to know that being friends with your husband's ex is a No."
"Keep my wife's name out of your mouth," Henderson barked his voice made Venita flinch but she comported herself and wore a smile on her face.
"I wish I could but you know your wife is too gullible, I'm sure she won't mind letting you fuck me too, maybe we could have a threesome."
Henderson was about to utter a retort, but Lena's voice echoed beating him to it as she scooted towards them.
"What's going on here?"
