Chapter 63— Back Together!
Lena wiped her eyes before opening them once again but nothing changed, Kyra was standing in front of her door. At first, when Lena pulled the door open and saw Kyra she thought she was hallucinating, but it was actually real.
Kyra's eyes bulged out in shock as her eyes beheld Lena.
"What are you doing here?" Lena frowned.
"I.... I...., " Kyra stuttered her hand pointing backwards but Lena couldn't understand anything she was saying.
Lena glared at her, "You what? Are you here to give me news that you and Henderson are getting married."
Kyra opened her mouth to say something but before she could Lena shut the door in her face. Lena exhaled noisily through pursed lips, she ambled to the couch and settled it, The sight of Kyra upset her so much that she felt sick to her stomach.
The doorbell rang once again, Lena's mind was made up she was going to ignore it and if Kyra persisted and kept ringing the doorbell she was going to be left with no choice but to get Kyra out of her property herself.
"Lena, it's me."
Lena stood up from the couch when she heard Greg's voice. Greg had called earlier that he was going to pay her a visit so when the doorbell rang the first time she thought it was Greg, not the one person she thought she was never going to have to see again.
Lena's face contorted in a frown when she opened the door and saw Kyra standing beside Greg.
"You are still here?"
Surprise crossed Greg's features, "You two know each other?"
Lena nodded.
"Woah, I had no idea. Kyra is my cousin, she came into town recently."
"I have to go, Greg, " Kyra rushed her words and made to leave but Lena's words made her halt.
"You can stay if you want, " Lena mumbled. She stepped out of the way for Greg to come into the living room, and Kyra followed suit.
"Seems like there is bad blood between you two, what is it about?" Greg inquired his glances moving from Kyra to Lena.
Disappointment etched Greg's face as he peered at Kyra after Lena narrated everything to him. Kyra had her head downcast in embarrassment, she didn't have to courage to gaze at Greg and Lena.
"Are you going to say something or not?" Greg spoke there was a tinge of annoyance in his voice.
Kyra hoisted her head and stared in Lena's direction. She took a deep breath.
"Whatever I told you that day was a lie. Henderson and I didn't have sex, those pictures were real because I took them. His drink was spiked at the party and I managed to get into the hotel room he was in, nothing happened between us. I'm not pregnant, I only said those things to you because I was paid to do so, " Kyra mumbled truthfully.
"What!" Lena sprang to her feet, she drew in her lower lip between her teeth lost in thoughts trying to process things.
"Did Henderson threaten you or pay you to come say all of these things to me? You don't have to lie to me, " Lena muttered keeping her voice as calm as she could.
She couldn't just trust Kyra's words, what if this was another lie?
Kyra shook her head, "I'm not lying. Henderson didn't send me here, Yes we spoke to each other days back but that was because he wanted to find out the truth from me. He loves you and he never did any of those things I accused him of, I'm sorry I had to do that because I was in need of money. I was left with no choice, please forgive me."
Kyra clasped her hands together.
"Why should I believe you?" Lena's eyes crinkled as they scrutinised Kyra for all she knew Kyra could be lying.
"Because it's the truth. I told Henderson everything, how it was all planned out."
"This cannot be, " Lena shook her head plopping on the couch, she buried her face in her palms. If Kyra was telling the truth then she messed up big time, she made a huge mistake for failing to trust Henderson, she didn't even care to hear him out before she left and even when Matteo tried to tell her what she did was wrong she didn't even want to listen.
Tears rolled down Lena's face guilt coursed through every one of her veins, Here she was thinking Henderson broke her heart but she was the one who broke his heart.
The doorbell rang but that wasn't significant to Lena at the moment.
"I'll get that."
Greg mumbled, he had taken notice of Lena's mood so he stood up on his feet.
Henderson's nose crinkled as he sized Greg up once Greg opened the door.
"Who are you?" Henderson's icy glare dorked on Greg.
"He is Lena's friend, " Matteo interfered bringing an end to the stare-down between Henderson and Greg.
"Where's Lena?" Henderson inquired staring at Greg with eyes flaring with intense dislike.
"You know what, just get out of our way, " Henderson rasped when Greg was hesitant to reply to his question.
Henderson pushed Greg when he stood rooted to his spot.
Lena straightened herself up from the couch when she heard Henderson's and Matteo's voices, her eyes lit up hoping that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her.
"Baby, " Henderson scooted to Lena embracing her tightly.
Wrapping her arms around his middle, she inhaled his sweet scent. She had missed Henderson so much, his charming presence, his enchanting smile and the taste of his luscious lips.
He spun her around after breaking the hug and kissed her. The intimacy of the kiss had her weak at her knees, it left her out of her breath when she finally let go.
Lena could feel the anger radiating off Henderson when his gaze shifted to Kyra.
"What are you doing here?" Henderson's voice was stern as he gave Kyra a once-over.
Lena stepped closer to stand beside Henderson, " She told me everything."
"I'm sorry, I hurt you and...."
Henderson averted his gaze from Kyra returning it to Lena, he placed a finger on her lips.
"You don't have to say anything, " a smile played on his lips. He took Lena's hand and brought it to his lips kissing the back of her palm.
Lena shook her head taking Henderson's hand in hers.
"I have to Henderson, what I did wasn't ok. I just left, I didn't even care to find out if you were guilty of the accusations. I'm sorry, I wished I had done better.." Lena muttered, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Henderson's cupped her cheeks, he wiped her tears with his palm.
"It's not your fault, you were hurt hence the reaction. I never blamed you for leaving. Brian was responsible for all of this, he hired Kyra."
The reveal sent literal shockwaves through Lena, her mouth hung open.
"Brian? What if it's a mix-up? I don't think he would do such a thing."
Henderson huffed, "That was what I used to think until I found out that he did all of these. She told me." Henderson's voice was laced with a pang of sorrow and he pointed at Kyra. Until now, the pain of Brian's betrayal was still fresh in his memories the wound was yet to heal.
"There is something I need to let you know. I lied when I said Brian made me do it, it was Alia who made me do it. Brian had nothing to do with it, " Kyra let out.
Henderson's chest clenched the wheels of his mind spinning quickly, he arched a brow at Kyra, " What did you just say?"
