Chapter 53_ A New Life!

"Trent we are going to be staying here until I find us a new house, OK? What do you think about the place?" Lena smiled turning in Trent's direction. She and Trent were lodged in a hotel, they were two cities away from the city Henderson lived in. She wanted to be very far away from him, so she got herself a contact number and a new phone to avoid being contacted by Henderson or anyone else who knew her. "Mommy, why did we have to leave Itzel, Uncle Henderson and Aunt Cleo?" Lena crouched in front of Trent, looking into the eyes of her beloved son which brimmed with tears she felt guilt wash through her. How was she going to explain things to Trent? There was no way she was going to let him know the truth, the real reason why they had to leave the mansion and the city. She was glad since Trent was done with the session, and they were given a holiday two days back so their moving wasn't going to affect his school. All she had to do was change find a new school in this new city and enroll him when school resumed. From the past year and months, she had worked as Itzel's Nanny she had managed to get millions in her bank account since the pay was really huge, she could buy a house from the money and enrol Trent in a new school and probably start to think of what she was going to do to take care of herself and her son. She planned to quit therapy since she had gotten better. "You've not eaten since lunch, what would you like to have before I order dinner?" Lena smiled smoothing Trent's hair. This was a clear attempt to change the topic, she didn't know what to say to Trent about the decision she made. Trent's brows knitted together, his lips were in a pout and he crossed his arms around his chest. "Mommy, why don't you want to tell me why we left? Don't you want Uncle Henderson anymore?" ...... Henderson loosened his tie with one hand and plopped to the couch. He just put a call through to Matteo and asked him if he knew about Lena's whereabouts but Matteo said he didn't. He told Henderson that just a few minutes ago he tried to call Lena but her line was unreachable. From the tone of Henderson's voice, as he spoke to Matteo, Matteo figured out something was wrong so he planned to go over to Henderson's mansion once he closed from the office. Henderson didn't know what to think. Who the hell was the Kyra lady Lena talked about in the message she sent him? He didn't know anyone with that name, after questioning the workers who were present when Lena left, they told him a lady had showed up earlier and Lena left the mansion not too long after the lady left. He watched the CCTV that surveyed the entrance to the house and saw a lady whom he failed to recognise, the workers identified her as the same lady who had visited earlier. "Daddy, do you know where Aunt Lena and Trent are? Are they going to come back?" Itzel mumbled jolting Henderson out of his thoughts. Henderson forced a smile on his face, the last thing he was going to do was tell Itzel that Lena and Trent were gone and that he didn't even know about their whereabouts because she was going to be devastated. "Zel, they'll be back soon." He promised pecking her cheeks. "Dad, then why are you sad? Also, Aunt Lena's and Trent's belongings are nowhere in the house. I was told they left." A sigh escaped Henderson's lips. "Don't worry sweetie, I promise you they'll be back." That promise was one he was going to fulfil, he was going to keep searching for Lena and Trent until he found them. He was in pain, invisible pain, his heart was heavy as though a boulder was over it. Matteo came over to the house once he had closed from the office, he was furious when he read the message Lena had sent to Henderson. He asked Henderson who Kyra was and said he was going to forget that Henderson was his boss if he indeed cheated on Lena. Henderson explained everything to Matteo and told him that he didn't even know who the lady was, he had never seen her before. It took a lot of explanation to convince Matteo that Henderson was telling him the truth. Henderson made sure that he didn't speak about the issue in Itzel's presence. Brian came over to the house to pay Lena, Henderson and the kids a surprise visit when he got to know what was happening. He was concerned seeing the condition Henderson was in, he promised to help in the search for Lena and Trent. ....... .... Three days had passed since Lena moved to a new city, she stayed at a hotel for the past few days with Trent. And Trent never got an answer to the question he asked Lena, ' if she was still in love with Henderson or not.' Today she and Trent were going to check out the house she wanted to buy. Her mind was made up she wasn't going to return to that city, she was going to start a new life away from everything else with her son. Lena managed to get some information from a guy she bumped into while she went to get Trent some ice cream. The guy introduced himself to her as Greg, they got talking and she told him about her intentions to get a new house and he said he could help since he knew someone who was an estate agent. She was going to meet up with him outside the hotel so he could take her to meet up with the person in question. "Hi, " Lena waved as Greg came towards her. "Hello, Lena," Greg responded with a small smile when he stopped in front of her and Trent. "Good afternoon, " Trent greeted. "How are you, buddy?" Greg smiled squatting in front of Trent who returned the smile. "I'm good, thank you." Greg gave Trent a friendly pat on the shoulder before he stood up to his feet. "Can we go now?" Greg asked turning to Lena. "Yes, " she nodded. They hailed a cab and after a drive of about twenty minutes, they stopped in front of a house. They alighted from the cab, and before Lena could take out some cash from her purse to pay the driver Greg had already paid him. Lena gave him the amount he had given to the driver but he said she didn't have to pay him for it even though Lena insisted, he didn't change his mind. Lena thanked him for paying and so did Trent. "Can I ask you a question?" Greg muttered as he veered to face Lena. "Of course, " she smiled. "You are Henderson Bain's girlfriend. The famous CEO from Hayglow City, why do you want to buy a house here in Oxwey?"
