Chapter 118 Epilogue; Love! Love! Love!
"Who do you love more? Me or Trent?" Itzel asked Levi and Lilly who were seated on the floor of their playroom eating chocolate.
Lena had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl bringing an end to the argument. During the pregnancy, Lena was pampered by everyone even though she kept telling them they did not need to worry, they always made sure that she didn't have to lift a finger to do anything.
Henderson and Lena named the twins Levi and Lilly, they had other names which Trent and Itzel picked out for them. The boy's name was Levi Asher Henderson Bain while the girl's name was Lilly Clarissa Henderson Bain.
Even though at first Itzel wasn't sure about having a little sister. But when she held baby Lilly in her arms for the first time everything changed, she was excited and loved playing the big sister role more than she ever thought she would. Trent bonded so well with Levi.
Trent and Itzel loved Lilly and Levi so much, and the little kids loved them as well but the problem was that Itzel always wanted to know who they loved more but the kids were smarter.
"Do you really have to ask? It's me." Trent's voice was full of confidence and lifted his shoulders proudly.
Itzel glared at him and chuckled shaking her head.
"You wish."
She shifted her gaze to the kids and smiled sweetly at them.
"Who do you love more? Me or him?" Itzel pointed to herself with a sweet smile but when she said 'him' and pointed to Trent she made a scrunched-up face.
Levi and Lilly traded glances before returning their gazes to Trent and Itzel who were eager to hear who was more loved.
"Mommy and Daddy." Levi giggled.
Lilly nodded," Dada and Mama."
That was what she called her parents.
"They did it again. We both lost." Trent sighed and Itzel huffed.
Whenever Itzel and Trent asked Lilly and Levi who they loved more they always said their parents.
"You gave the right answer darlings." Henderson chuckled walking into the room with Lena by his side.
"Yeah, our babies are smart," Lena smiled.
They had been standing by the door watching the children and they knew just what Levi and Lilly were going to say.
Henderson picked up Lilly and Levi in his hands like they weighed nothing and they tittered happily.
"My big babies," Lena wrapped her arms hugging Trent and Itzel who were now on their feet.
"Itzel you know they love you right?" Lena assured cupping her cheeks when she saw the sad look on Itzel's face.
"Don't worry even if they don't say it, your boyfriend tells you he loves you, doesn't he?" Trent teased and Itzel smacked him on the shoulder.
Trent shrugged his shoulders, "What?"
The realisation hit him when he noticed that Henderson's jaw dropped and his eyes were fixed on him and Itzel.
"Itzel has a boyfriend?"
Trent and Itzel glanced at their mother but she didn't look as surprised as their father was.
"Yes," Lena nodded.
"You knew?" Trent, Itzel and Henderson said in unison, surprise evident on their faces.
Lena chuckled at their reaction and nodded.
"Yes, I know."
"But you didn't say anything about it," Itzel muttered with puckered brows.
"Because you didn't say anything. I wanted you to tell me first." Lena smiled placing a hand on Itzel's shoulder.
"What else have I been missing out on in this house?" Henderson frowned breathing out a long sigh.
"Trent likes a girl in our school, her name is Stephanie."
Trent's eyes widened as he turned to Itzel. He also noticed that aside from Itzel's stares his father's and mother's gaze were on him.
Itzel shrugged, a smirk tugging the side of her lips.
"You are shocked, almost everyone knows you have a crush on Stephanie. Even Alec knows."
"Who is Alec?" Henderson arched a brow at Trent.
"Her boyfriend," Trent answered. He wished he could just disappear, if only he hadn't talked about Itzel's boyfriend this would not have been happening.
A smile grew on Henderson's lip making Itzel stare at him in surprise, the last thing she was expecting her father to do was smile.
"So, Trent have you told Stephanie how you feel? You should tell her, I could give you tips." Henderson winked at Trent putting a hand over his shoulder.
"Really Dad? This is unfair, you were practically frowning when you heard I have a boyfriend but now you are smiling because Trent likes someone?" Itzel complained turning to Lena, she kept a sad face trying to solicit her help but before Lena could say anything the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it."
Trent took it as a perfect opportunity to escape having the conversation with his dad.
He sauntered to the door and pulled it open. Surprise took over his features when he saw the girl in front of the door.
"Stephanie."
"Can I come in?" Stephanie asked smiling.
"Yes, sorry.... Please come in," he stuttered paving the way for her.
Stephanie walked into the room, greeted Trent's parent and stood waiting for him to close the door and come in.
Trent smacked himself on the head for his awkwardness before he shut the door put a smile on his face and turned around to meet Stephanie.
"You seem surprised to see me." Stephanie let out a nervous laugh.
"I'm happy to see you... It's just that.."
Stephanie interjected before Trent could finish.
"I got your message. I've always liked you too, I didn't know you had feelings for me too." Stephanie let out, she was unbothered by the fact that Trent's family was present.
When Trent heard those words he seemed to have forgotten that too.
"I really like you, Stephanie." He purred taking steps to her, he took her hand in his.
"I like you too." Stephanie smiled hugging him.
"So does that mean we are boyfriend and girlfriend now?" Stephanie asked when they broke the hug.
"Yes of course." Itzel chimed in clapping her hands.
"Congratulations to you both." She smiled.
She then turned to her father,"I'm not the only one who is in a relationship, Dad."
Itzel made her way to meet with Trent and then she pulled him by the arm to the side.
"What message was she talking about?" Trent questioned lifting a brow at her.
"Don't I deserve a thank...."
Itzel didn't get to finish her sentence because the doorbell chimed.
"You better go get it, it's your boyfriend." A smirk marred Trent's face.
Itzel's eyes bulged out and her jaw slacked.
"What? I sent him a message the same way you sent Stephanie one." Trent grinned in satisfaction seeing the look on Itzel's visage.
When Trent turned in Stephanie's direction, she and her mom were hugging he smiled watching them before shifting his gaze to Itzel. She was probably going to curse him if anything went wrong.
Itzel opened the door and just like Trent had said it was her boyfriend, Alec. Her mind was made up she was going to kill Trent if things went sour between Alec and her father.
"Come in," she smiled.
She closed the door and walked into the room with Alec. Trent was now standing beside Stephanie and had a gigantic grin on his face. When he and Itzel locked eyes she rolled her orbs at him and gave him a threatening look.
"Good afternoon, Ma'am." Alec greeted when he stood in front of Lena and Henderson.
Lena smiled at him.
"Alec, how are you?"
"I'm, fine thank you."
Henderson's eyes were fixed on Alec and he watched him intently.
Alec took steps closer to Henderson and stretched his hands to him for a handshake.
"Good afternoon, Sir. I'm Itzel's boyfriend."
Itzel facepalmed, she knew Alec had great guts but she never thought that he was going to make such an introduction.
Henderson glanced at the young man who radiated confidence, his gaze shifted to Alec's hand which was still extending to him and then he peeked at Itzel and he knew from the look on her face that she was expecting the worst.
Henderson smiled and then shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Alec."
Itzel let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding and hurried to her dad embracing him a hug.
"Thank you, Daddy."
Henderson smoothed her hair and kissed her forehead.
"I want the best for you, Itzel. Trust me."
"I know Dad," she smiled.
"Trent, Stephanie come over here." Henderson gestured to Trent and Stephanie who were at the other side of the room.
"Stephanie, Alec do you mind having lunch with us?" Lena flashed a smile at them.
"Yeah, we will be glad if you say yes," Henderson added.
"Mommy, Daddy actually we have to attend a tutorial. I just remembered, right Trent." Itzel snapped her fingers turning to Trent who nodded.
"Yes, it's Saturday."
"It's actually Sunday..." Henderson corrected staring at them with narrowed eyes.
Lena tapped him and shook her head, she knew the kids just said that because they wanted to go out.
"Thanks mom," Itzel smiled.
"Bye Mom, Bye Dad." Trent and Itzel mumbled.
"Take care.... Stay safe..."
Lena let out but the door had already opened and closed with a thud.
"You know the tutorial was a lie right?" Henderson arched his brow.
Lena nodded, "I know. Just let them. I trust them, they won't do what they aren't supposed to do."
"I know. It's just a lot to process. I forgot they are no longer kids but teenagers, they are even in a relationship." Henderson chuckled.
Lena laughed, "I know right."
"I'm glad they are happy, and thank you for not scaring Alec off."
Henderson smiled, "I knew better than to do that, Itzel would probably not forgive me. He seems like a gentleman though but I would have loved having that lunch so I can get to know who Stephanie and Alec are and if they are good enough for our kids."
"I knew you were going to say that."
"Mama..."Lilly babbled extending her hands to Lena to carry her.
"Why do my daughters seem to get tired of me?" Henderson frowned playfully as Lena carried Lilly in her arms.
"Mommy," Levi's giggle came and he also extended his hands to Lena.
"And now even my son is tired of me." Henderson's expression was gloomy making Lena laugh.
"Really? Is that what you think? You are always on their mind, they remember me once they get tired of you, seems like I'm second choice." Lena sighed trying to balance both kids in her arms.
"I know you are just saying that to make me feel better," Henderson mumbled.
"Maybe..." Lena laughed and the kids giggled.
"But honestly, we love you. Right?" She muttered glancing at Lilly and Levi who nodded.
"I love Mama..."
"I love Mommy."
Henderson's face palmed and pursed his lips.
"I'm really glad that Trent and Itzel aren't here to see this. I would be a laughing stock."
Henderson's chest soared with bubbles of joy, he was blessed to have his amazing wife and wonderful children whom he wouldn't trade for anything.
A smile danced on his lips and he kissed Lilly's and Levi's hair before shifting his gaze to Lena. Supporting her to hold both kids, he leaned in and kissed her.
"Awww.." Levi's and Lilly's giggles came.
Lena and Henderson smiled, that was what the kids did whenever they saw their parents lock lips.
Lena never imagined that things were going to fall in pleasant places for her. She had an incredible family, blessed with true friends. She was doing remarkably well in her career, in all the cases she had taken ever since she started to practice she had never lost. She had the support of her amazing family and her beloved husband was always there by her side. Lena glimmered recalling how her Henderson had met to the point where they fell for each other.
Love brought them together and that love would keep them together.
