Chapter 105 New Couples!
"Welcome back Mommy." Itzel and Trent jumped in excitement when the door screeched open and Lena stepped in. They ran to her and embraced her tightly.
"Seems like you were partially right, they did forget about me but not you." Henderson chuckled seeing how neither Trent nor Itzel paid attention to him.
"Oh my babies, I've missed you guys so much. See how big you guys have grown." Lena gleamed kissing their cheeks.
"Mommy you were gone for just a month but it felt like a year." Itzel pouted hugging Lena once again.
"Aww, sweetie I missed you so much." Lena smiled.
"And you too Trent," Lena mumbled when she noticed how Trent was staring at them.
"I think my brother is jealous," Itzel teased and burst out laughing.
"I think daddy is too," Itzel whispered into Lena's ears and they laughed.
"Trent we better go give Dad a hug before he cries." Itzel chortled.
"What?" Henderson frowned.
Trent and Itzel hugged him and that was enough to make his frown disappear.
"I've missed you guys a lot. How's school?"
Itzel heaved a breath and face palmed, taking her hands off her face she turned to Henderson.
"Dad you just got back and you are already talking about school. You should get some rest." Itzel muttered.
"Itzel," Trent cautioned.
"What, I know you feel the same way deep down but you don't just want to hurt Dad's feelings, are my wrong?" Itzel lifted a brow at him.
"Itzel leave him be. Where are the others?" Henderson chuckled looking around.
"Aunt Nana and Aunt Alia went to get some groceries."Trent informed.
"Grandma is upstairs asleep, while Aunt Cleo and Aunt Irene went out, they didn't tell us where they were going to but I think they went to meet up with Uncle Matteo and Uncle B," Itzel added with a smile plastered on her face.
"And how would you know that?" Henderson folded his arms across his chest peering at her keenly.
"Well because they are in love." Itzel stated.
Henderson's eyes widened slightly and he gave a tight nod.
"That's too much information. Now Young lady tell me what you know about love."
"Yes, we would love to hear it." Trent supported.
"Go on, we are listening," Henderson mumbled gesturing her with his hand.
"You guys are back." A voice filled the room making them to turn their attention in the direction of the voice.
"Thank you grandma, you made the save." Itzel mumbled to herself. At least she didn't have to worry about answering her dad's question.
Lena's mom was standing on the staircase, she descended and sauntered closer to them.
"Hello mom," Henderson greeted hugging her.
"Did we wake you up?" He asked after breaking the hug.
"No. I had no idea you both would come back today." She smiled.
"Yeah, we just wanted it to be a surprise. How are you?" Henderson asked.
"I'm good, thank you for asking." Lena's mom returned the smile but sadness clouded her features when her eyes met Lena's.
Henderson noticing the silence that had taken over the room shifted his gaze to Lena who was yet to say a word. He took her hand in his, peering into her eyes."This should be the time, right?"
Lena gave a tight nod before turning to her mom. Henderson was right, it was high time she made up with her mom. She couldn't stay mad at her forever.
Her mom started to speak.
"Lena, I'm...."
"I'm sorry Mom, forgive me." Lena interrupted apologising. She wrapped her arms around her mother and embraced her tightly.
"You don't have to say sorry to me. I owe you an apology until you forgive me. I'm sorry Lena for everything." Her mom apologised cupping her cheeks.
The door screeched open revealing Alia and Madam Carmen, huge grins marred their faces as they beheld Lena and Henderson.
"I love the reconciliation," Madam Carmen gleamed as she sauntered into the room with Alia trailing behind her.
They exchanged pleasantries with Lena and Henderson before heading to the kitchen to keep all they had gotten from the supermarket.
"Lena you don't have to do a thing just go to the living room and rest. We'll do the cooking ourselves." Alia mumbled pointing to the door but Lena stood rooted to her spot.
She had come into the kitchen and offered to give Alia and Madam Carmen a hand in cooking but they turned it down.
"Fine, if you don't want to go to the living room you can just grab a sit and tell us how your honeymoon went." Alia smiled glancing at Madam who nodded in agreement. Lena took a sit on the chair in the kitchen.
"That isn't a bad idea. I hope you and Henderson enjoyed your honeymoon." Madam Carmen muttered turning to Lena.
"Yes, we did. It was fun. I mean we got to know each other better and..."
"Had a lot of sex?" Madam Carmen had a mischievous smile on her face as she spoke. Lena averted her gaze from her and lowered her head, her cheeks had turned red but she didn't want them to take notice of it. They were going to tease her a lot.
"Well, I do not think we need an answer to know they did. Can't you see how shy she has become?" Alia chuckled.
"I think I'm just going to go to the living room." Lena pointed to the door as she rose to her feet.
"You can stay if you want to." Madam Carmen exchanged glances with Alia and they burst out laughing. They said all that on purpose just to get Lena to leave the kitchen and it did work.
"You should go," Alia nodded in agreement after their laughter died down.
Later that day,
"Seriously, why didn't you guys tell us that you would be returning today? We would have at least thrown you guys a welcome from honeymoon party but you ruined the chances," Cleo's face twisted in a frown as she spoke. Shea nd Irene had conversations about throwing a welcome party for Henderson and Lena when they would return from their honeymoon.
"Yeah, we really did want to do that." Irene concurred.
"Well we just wanted it to be a surprise, sorry if we spoilt your plans." Lena smiled.
They were all present in the dining having dinner together. Henderson, Lena, her mom, Itzel, Trent, Alia, and Madam Carmen. Brighton came over to the house and he was pretty much surprised to see Henderson and Lena since he had no idea what they had returned. Next Cleo and Matteo came in, and a few minutes later Brian and Irene also returned.
"We have an announcement to make, me and Cleo," Matteo uttered making the room fall into silence and all attention centered on him and Cleo. He glanced at Cleo and held her hand since they were seated beside each other.
"We are in a relationship." Cleo let out.
There was still utter silence in the room as several gazes were directed at Cleo and Matteo but not even a word was said.
"Took you guys so long to tell us, right?" Madam Carmen sighed breaking the ice.
"Yeah," the others echoed in unison.
Cleo and Matteo burst out laughing.
"Brian, Irene don't you both have something to say to us as well?" Alia questioned staring at them.
Irene and Brian turned to each other, their eyes doing the talking but no words left their mouth.
"Well since you two aren't saying anything, I will be glad to help you both out." A smirk tugged Madam Carmen's lips.
"Everyone, Matteo and Cleo aren't the only ones who love each other. Irene and Brian here love each other and they are dating." she let out.
"We all knew that." Lena and Henderson chortled.
"How did you know?" Irene and Brian had amused brows lifted up as they glanced at each other before shifting their eyes to Henderson and Lena.
"Really, even Itzel knew. And it was pretty much obvious." Henderson shrugged.
"It was very obvious." Brighton smiled.
"I guess I'm the one who needs to find a partner." Brighton heaved a breath.
"I thought you were seeing Maya." Brian blurted out and regretted it instantly, Brighton shot him a fevered glare.
"Maya," Henderson exclaimed with a scrunched-up face.
"Are you really seeing Maya?" Alia inquired peeking at Brighton who nodded in response.
"We are just hanging out. I think she's amazing." Brighton's lips curved up happily.
Henderson scoffed shaking his head," Amazing indeed, is that your synonym for awful?"
No one aside Lena heard Henderson's statement since he grumbled it under his breath.
"Stop it," Lena cautioned in a whisper.
"Fine." Henderson sighed.
"Brighton all the best." Henderson forced a smile on his face. He knew Maya was a bad choice for Brighton but what could he do, it was his choice after all.
"Thanks. I actually thought you would be against it." Brighton glimmered brightly.
Congratulations flew from every side of the room to Irene and Brian, Cleo, and Matteo.
"Let's make a toast. To our beautiful amazing couples. To a life of love, togetherness, and joy. Cheers to Mao and Brene." Lena raved raising her glass of juice.
"Mao?" Matteo and Irene traded puzzled glances before their gazes wandered back to Lena.
"Don't act so clueless it's a couple name for you two," Lena explained. Her eyes rambled to Brian and Irene, a sigh left her lips.
"Before you both ask. Brene is the couple's name for you both. So cheers." She giggled stretching her glass to Henderson for a cheers. Glasses clicked in the room, with joyful laughter as they dined together. After dinner, Brian, Matteo, and Brighton left after a little chit-chat with the others.
The next morning, Lena's mom and Alia left even though Lena and Henderson tried to convince them to stay for sometime more but they disagreed saying they had stayed for quite a long while and it was time for them to leave.
