Chapter 55—I'm Not Sure!
"What! Why are you just telling me this Brian?" Henderson snapped standing to his feet.
"Well, I didn't think it was important and I didn't want to intrude on your personal matters," Brian mumbled lowly.
Henderson groaned into his palm in frustration, he let out a huff and then took his seat before reaching into his pockets for his phone.
"What do you plan to do?" Brian arched a brow at Henderson whose lips were pursed as he pressed on his phone.
"I'm calling Chelsey to come over. Since she saw the lady leave my room, I'll show her the CCTV footage and then we'll know if Kyra was the lady." Henderson started his eyes still fixed on the phone.
Henderson dialled Chelsey and she picked up immediately, She was quite surprised when she checked the caller ID and saw that it was Henderson, She concluded the reason he was calling was probably work-related until he asked her to come over to the house as far as she could leaving Chelsey to wonder why Henderson invited her over to his house, something he had never done before. But she was elated her boss just invited her over to his house.
"Is she the lady?" Henderson asked after showing Chelsey the footage.
"Yes, she was the lady, sir," Chelsey answered with a nod and watched Henderson's countenance dull up.
"Sir, is there a problem?" Chelsey inquired seeing the look on Henderson's face.
Henderson peered at Chelsey with a wan expression and she looked away immediately, she knew she had crossed her boundaries.
"I'm sorry, Sir." She muttered.
"That will be all, you may leave now." Henderson started before walking away.
"Sorry about that Chelsey. Henderson is just a bit stressed, " Brian said when he saw the sadness on Chelsey's face after Henderson left.
"It's fine, sir. I shouldn't have crossed my boundaries. I'll take my leave now." Chelsey rushed her words and dashed out before Brian could say anything.
Brian shook his head, he heaved a breath before heading out to find Henderson.
"There you are, " Brian sighed as he sat beside Henderson.
"You better stop with the alcohol, dude. You know the other day I brought you home you were dead drunk and that's why you are unable to recall anything."
"Are you trying to help me here, Brian? Cause you are not, you are just making things more difficult for me, " Henderson rasped raising his voice as he turned to Brian.
"Take it easy, yelling at me isn't going to change a damn thing. I'm really trying to help you here, can't you see?" Brian huffed glaring at Henderson who gulped down the contents of the glass in his hand before placing the glass on the table and shifting his gaze to Brian.
"What's with you and Chelsey?" Henderson questioned.
Brian chuckled, "What do you mean by that?"
"You know what I mean, Don't give me that facade." Henderson fevered intense glare rested on Brian.
"Well maybe I like her, " Brian mumbled holding Henderson's gaze.
Henderson scoffed staring at Brian with his nose crinkled in disgust.
"What kind of a man are you? Do you like Chelsey? How many seconds does it take you to move from one lady to another?"
Brian's lips pressed together in a white slash and his eyes narrowed, "Instead of lecturing me, why don't you try to recall if you slept with that Kyra lady or not?"
Brian got up on his feet casting one last glance a Henderson, he ambled out of the room.
Later that evening...
"For how long are you going to continue like this? Itzel is refusing to eat and you are also doing the same. If you don't want to come downstairs for dinner, I can bring your food here. Cleo has been trying to get Itzel to have some food but she hasn't said a word."
Madam Carmen stood in front of Henderson's door, She had been knocking on his door but he had yet to answer or even open the door. Having no other choice, she decided to go in since the last time she had seen Henderson was after Brian left. As she spoke to Henderson his back was turned to her.
"Henderson, can you stop this? Lena won't be happy seeing you this way." Madam Carmen sighed sitting on the bed.
When Henderson sat up, Madam Carmen noticed how pale his face was.
"Aunt Nana, Lena hates me now. I'm sure she won't care." Henderson's voice was filled with hurt the pain evident in his eyes.
"But it's not true, is it? You didn't cheat on Lena, did you?"
A sigh left Henderson's lips, "I don't know. At first, I was very sure I didn't but with what I just found out I'm not sure." A tear slid down Henderson's cheeks as the words left his mouth.
"What are you talking about?"
"What!" Madam Carmen's jaw dropped when Henderson explained everything to her.
Oxwey City.....
"Trent, are you okay? Do you want ice cream? Chocolate chips? Or maybe cookies, " Lena beamed but when Trent didn't even lift his head to look at her her smile faded.
She sighed and then sat in front of him. Smoothing his hair with her palm, she tilted his chin up.
"What is it, honey? Do you want to play a game? You've been this way since morning."
Tears rolled down Trent's face as he peered at Lena.
"Why did we leave? I don't want this place. We should go back to Uncle Henderson and Itzel. We just left everyone there." Trent mumbled amidst tears.
Lena pulled him into a warm embrace, seeing the tears in Trent's eyes brought tears to her eyes. She missed Henderson, there were times when she cried herself to sleep because of what had happened.
Lena wanted to confront Henderson but she couldn't bear hearing the confirmation from him, it was going to wreck her even more. She was still in love with him. Henderson despite the fact that she was mad at him.
She missed Itzel a lot, she wondered how Itzel was coping with her absence, she felt guilt. A part of her condemned her actions, leaving the way she did was selfish but what else could she do? She didn't think she would be able to hold herself when she faced Henderson after finding out that he got Kyra pregnant.
Trent pulled away from Lena and peeked at her face, sadness had overtaken his features.
"Mommy, I know you miss them too. Are we going to go back?" Trent questioned holding onto her hand.
