Chapter 67— Road To Reconciliation!
"Lena, Lena, " Madam Carmen called out but got no response from her, she appeared to be lost in her thoughts.
Madam was headed to the kitchen when she noticed the worry that was evident on Lena's features, she halted, turned around and ambled to where Lena was seated.
"Lena, " Madam Carmen's voice was soft with concern as she tapped Lena on the shoulder.
Lena snapped out of her thoughts.
"Sorry, did you say something?"
Concern etched Madam Carmen's features, she settled on the empty space beside Lena " Are you okay?"
A sigh escaped Lena's lips, " I'm worried about Henderson. Even though he tries to hide it, he is worried about how things have gone between him and Brian, their broken friendship is taking a toll on him."
Madam Carmen's brows knitted together in confusion, " Brian and Henderson had a fight and no one told me? What happened between them? I guess that was the reason why Henderson's response was kind of weird when I asked him how Brian was doing this morning."
"I'm sorry, I'm sure Henderson didn't say anything to you about it because he didn't want you to get worried. I blame myself for this, if I didn't leave none of this would have been happening. What caused the whole thing was that Henderson found the Kyra girl who came over here the day I left claiming that Henderson had gotten her pregnant. She told Henderson that Brian paid her to do it."
"Brian, that cannot be true," Madam Carmen shook her head in doubt. Brian and Henderson had been friends for ages and Madam Carmen didn't see Brian as someone who would betray his friend.
Lena nodded in affirmation, "It's not true but at the moment Henderson believed it, he went over to Brian's house and got into a fight with him, which led to Brian having bruises on his face. When Henderson came over to Oxwey, a friend of mine Greg who was a coworker at the restaurant I worked visited my house with his cousin Kyra..."
"The same Kyra?" Madam Carmen asked, her tone filled with curiosity as she spoke.
"Yes. Kyra confessed that Brian wasn't responsible but Alia was, she threatened to kill her if she was to tell the truth to anyone. I and Henderson went over to Brian's face but he didn't let us in, he was furious and I don't blame him. He was hurt by Henderson's actions."
Madam Carmen heaved a breath, her lips pressed together.
"It's not your fault Lena. I don't know why Alia is acting this way, why would she do something like that? Henderson on the other hand should have done better, he shouldn't have done that to Brian. I can understand Brian's reaction. But don't worry so much about it, they are going to be fine. They'll sort it out, " Madam Carmen smiled.
"Are you sure? Henderson went over there but he got to know that Brian ordered his security never to let Henderson in. I'm thinking about going over to meet Brian and talk to him, I don't know if that will make things better but I have to try. " Lena mumbled.
These past few days Henderson had called Brian a lot of times but he didn't pick up any of his calls, he sent Brian messages but he didn't respond to any of them.
Madam Carmen nodded, "That won't be a bad idea. But you have to stop worrying about it, Henderson won't be happy to see you this way. I'm glad you are back, everything is back to normal because of your presence."
She beamed warmly patting Lena's shoulder.
Later that day.....
"You look very beautiful Aunt Lena, " Itzel complimented when she sauntered into the room with Trent trailing behind her.
"Yes, you look very pretty. Where are you going, Mommy?" Trent smiled taking steps to her.
"Thank you guys for the sweet compliments. I'm going over to Uncle Brian's house."
"Aunt Lena, can we come along with you?" Itzel beamed looking up at Lena who was fixing her hair.
"Yes, Mommy. Can we come along with you? I'm bored staying home." Trent cooed.
"Nope, " Lena started wriggling her finger and their smile faded into huge scowls.
"When I asked you two if you would like to go out with me you both said no. Why did you change your mind now?" Lena arched a brow at them.
"Cause it's Uncle B, " Trent raved.
"Exactly, I'm sure he's going to give us a lot of gifts," Itzel giggled.
Lena chortled as her eyes darted from Itzel to Trent, "So the only reason you both want to come with me to Brian's place is because he is going to give you guys gifts?"
Itzel shook her head, her chin resting on her palm as she tapped on her nose repeatedly.
"Well he's going to tell us a lot of interesting stories, " Trent smiled.
"Yes and mostly gifts, " Itzel shrugged giving Trent a high-five.
"That's kind of materialistic, you shouldn't like people because of what they give you, " Lena mumbled peering at them.
Itzel and Trent exchanged glances, "Yes ma'am." They said in unison.
"You both are something else, " Lena chuckled.
"Please can we come along, " They cooed making sad faces.
Lena stood in front of the door holding Trent's and Itzel's hand by each side after ringing the doorbell. She was glad that the security let them in at least it meant there was a chance that Brian and Henderson could go back to being friends.
The door pulled open revealing Brian.
Surprise marred his face, "Lena, Trent, Itzel."
"Uncle B, " Itzel and Matteo beamed hugging him tightly.
He crouched in front of them cracking a huge smile, " I've missed you both so much."
"Good to see you both, " he smiled smoothing Trent's and Itzel's hair before straightening himself.
"Uncle B, what happened to your face?" Trent and Itzel questioned simultaneously.
He chuckled, "It's nothing serious guys."
"Come in, " Brian beamed warmly stepping to the side.
"What would you like to have?" The maid inquired after she came into the living room.
"Juice, " Itzel and Trent requested quickly before Lena could say a word. The maid turned to Lena waiting for her what her choice would be.
"Juice, thank you." Lena gave her a polite smile.
The lady returned the a mile before ambling away. Shortly afterwards she returned with a tray containing three glasses and a pack of juice.
She poured the juice into each of the glasses before handing it over to them.
They expressed gratitude, " thank you."
"Matteo and Cleo were here earlier, if you are here to talk about Henderson, they already did." An unfathomable expression marred Brian's face as he spoke.
Henderson was seated in the living room when the doorbell rang, he was back home from the office earlier than usual. Since Lena returned he always looked forward to returning home earlier than he usually did.
Henderson rose from the couch and strutted to the door, " Brian." He sputtered when he took in the sight in front of him.
