Chapter 102— What's The Perfect Plan?
Lena was yet to give a response to Henderson, she just pondered on his words. He was right. Matteo had told her the same thing and it turned out to be true.
"Oh, I get it now." Lena sighed. She face palmed and nodded vigorously before tilting her head forehead to peek at Henderson. She inched closer to him and took his hand in hers.
"Like when I told you that you didn't have to pay my mom's hospital bills. I didn't realise that my words would hurt you. I was just concerned, you've already done a lot for me and my family. Considering how messed up things are, I don't want to bug you with my family problems you've done enough for me already."
Henderson shook his head and breathed out a long sigh.
"You are saying the same thing again, Lee. You are my wife, whatever concerns you concerns me. Your problems are my problems too, whatever is mine is yours. We are family. I love you babe and I'll do everything I can to make you happy and bring a smile on this beautiful face of yours." Henderson purred cupping her cheeks. The corner of Lena's eyes crinkled with tears, she was about to cry. Henderson's words warmed her heart. She was blessed to have a husband like him. Unable to control the joyful tears, they rolled down her cheeks.
"Babe, are you okay?" Worry took over Henderson's face, and he wiped the tears on Lena's face.
Lena nodded with a smile on her face, "I love you."
The worry on Henderson's face vanished in a millisecond the moment he heard those words from Lena. His lips curved happily and he pulled Lena in a warm embrace.
"I love you, Lee." He breathed.
Lena broke the hug and leaned in for a kiss. Henderson's hands wrapped around her waist firmly, Lena's hand encircled his neck.
Henderson broke the kiss and pulled away slowly the moment he heard Lena's stomach wamble.
A smirk tugged the side of Henderson's lips when he took notice of the disappointment that took over Lena's features. He placed his hands on her shoulder, lifting his right hand he tilted Lena's chin with his index finger and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Sorry babe, we have all the time to bang each other but first you have to eat, we need strength. You haven't had anything to eat since morning." Henderson smiled.
Lena's cheeks glowed red, it was as though Henderson read her thoughts but she was taken about as to how Henderson said those words casually. 'we need strength.' she knew what those words meant but she couldn't help but have wide eyes to them.
"What? My dear wife, you are shy again?" a chortle left Henderson's lips and he arched his brows at her.
"What would you do when we get to the real thing?" Henderson teased in a whisper.
Lena's lips curved up and she bit her lips to hide her smile.
"I think we should just eat," Lena cleared and throat and made to walk away from Henderson, but he held her hand and pulled her back to him gently.
"Where are you going?" A small smile played on Henderson's lips and stared at her with raised brows.
"To dish out some for us," Lena muttered.
"I'll do that myself, you just go to the dining and make yourself comfortable. I'll arrange everything."
"Babe but..." Lena tried to counter but before the rest of the words could leave her mouth Henderson's lips were on hers.
"If you don't want to walk to the dining I don't mind carrying you there," Henderson whispered against her ears after he broke the kiss.
Lena shook her head, "No, I'll just walk."
Lena headed to dining, and shortly afterward Henderson came in with a tray in his hand.
"I couldn't think of anything else which would be quicker to make so I just cooked pasta and made some juice for us," Henderson said as he placed the tray on the table and took his seat.
"Juice? Why not your usual wine?" Lena's brows creased. She could remember vividly that Henderson would usually tease her because of her choice of drink. They would often argue about the best between fruit juices and wines.
Henderson shrugged, "Since my wife is having juice then I'll have juice as well."
"Right," Lena nodded chuckling.
"What?" Henderson frowned playfully.
"You can still change your mind if you want to. I know you honey, not a day passes without you having wine. Are you sure you can cope?" her voice held a tinge of sarcasm and she reached for Henderson's hand and placed her's on his.
"Of course I can, I've had worse drinks." Henderson shrugged his shoulders.
Lena bobbed her head and a smile marred her face.
"Right! Wait what? Is that a jibe?" she lifted a brow at Henderson who wriggled his head in response.
"I wouldn't dare, babe. I'm just saying... " he laughed raising his hands.
Lena just smiled, took a fork, and put some of the mouth-watering pasta into her mouth.
"Wow, it's really delicious. I would say better than the first one you made." Lena moaned after chewing on the contents in her mouth.
"Thanks for the praises but considering what I've heard from Trent and Matteo, you are the better cook."
"Don't patronise me, Honey. I'm not sure I measure up to you." Lena protested.
"Maybe we should have a cooking contest between us when we return to the mansion. You'll win, I know but I just want to give it a try.." Henderson smiled.
"I bet you are just saying that, I cook nice meals but I'm not sure I can beat yours. You know what just let me enjoy the meal. You should eat, I might just end up eating all." Lena stated before putting some food into her mouth.
A soft moan left her lips as she chewed on her food. She swallowed and took the glass of juice but stopped when she realised Henderson's eyes were on her. He had some kind of hungry look in his eyes.
"Baby, you look famished. You should eat." Lena took a cutlery and stretched it to him.
"Thanks, but you should stop doing that, it just makes me forget about how hungry I am for food and makes me hungry for something else," Henderson murmured taking the fork from Lena.
"Stop doing what?" her eyes crinkled in confusion.
"Moaning.." Henderson's tone was low but it was clear enough for her to hear.
It took Lena a second to understand what Henderson was talking about and when she did, a flush found its way to her face.
"Babe." She face palmed shaking her head.
"You should eat, so we can...."
"I know... Eat as well, we need strength, remember?" she hoisted her head peering into Henderson's eyes, and winked at him.
"Oh, someone is no longer shy..." Henderson said in a sing song and Lena laughed.
It wasn't long after Henderson and Lena were done eating that Lena's phone rang, it was Cleo who called. She said she and Matteo had called Henderson's line but it was switched off. They said a business partner wanted to meet up with Henderson to finalise a deal.
Lena gave the phone to Henderson but he asked Cleo to cancel the meeting but Lena convinced him to go. Henderson told her he had switched off his phone so they wouldn't be disturbed. Henderson said he was not going to meet up with the man but Lena told him to after all it was just going to be a short meeting. He finally agreed after a lot of persuasion from Lena
Lena had other things in mind, she considered using Irene's advice and coming up with a way to plan a perfect wedding night for her and Henderson before he returned, she thought about calling Irene for tips but she didn't think that she could bear Irene teasing her about it later on so she decided to come up with something on her own.
It wasn't even up to thirty minutes after Henderson left that he called Lena up, he told her that he was on his way back to the house. Lena hadn't expected that he was going to finish the meeting so quickly, she was yet to come up with any idea for the preparations she had in mind. So she decided to seek help from Brian, she wanted Henderson's return to be delayed a bit.
When she called up Brian and told him he asked her not to worry that he was going to take care of that. It wasn't even up to five minutes that she received a call from Henderson, he told her that he would have to go to the hospital to see Brighton who had gotten into an accident. Lena asked Henderson to tell her which hospital it was so she could come there but he told her not to worry about it and that Brian was already at the hospital with Brighton.
Lena was worried, a thought came to mind and she wondered if it had to do with the conversation she had with Brian but she shrugged it off. Using an Accident to stop Henderson from returning quickly was going to be too extreme.
But unlike Lena thought a few minutes later just as she was about to call Brian, she got a call from him and when she asked how Brighton was doing, Brian said he was okay. He told Lena that he only told Henderson that Brighton had gotten into an accident to delay his return, Lena screamed in shock.
She didn't think Brian would go to that length. Brian told her not to worry about it and that he had everything sorted out but those words weren't enough to stop Lena from worrying. From the tone of Henderson's voice, he was very concerned and disturbed about Brighton's wellbeing and it turned out to be all a lie.
