Chapter 83— A Risk!
"Lena, I need you to get me a glass of water for Henderson, " Kyra ordered after Lena came into the room.
Lena had just come back from dropping Itzel and Trent off at school downstairs when Greg came to tell her that Kyra had called for her. Henderson no longer took the kids to their school himself so the responsibility was on Lena now. Cleo had gone to the office, Henderson no longer went to work, and Matteo and Cleo were overseeing things there for the meantime before Henderson's recovery.
Irene was against Lena going to answer Kyra's calls but Lena told her not to worry about it.
"Are you just going to stand there or go get me what I just....." The ringing of her phone didn't let her finish her statement. Kyra reached for her phone which was beside her before turning to Henderson.
"Babe, I'll be right back, " Kyra smiled kissing Henderson and then she got up from the bed and sauntered out of the room.
"Darling... Sorry....Sir..." Lena corrected facepalming. Because of all that was happening at the mansion and the way things turned out to be, she was no longer able to address Henderson as darling or call him any sweet name and it was a struggle.
"Why do you always call me darling? The first time I saw you, you did the same." Henderson's eyes crinkled as he peered at Lena.
"I'll go get you the water, " Lena mumbled refusing to give a response to Henderson's words. She scooted out of the room afterwards and headed to the kitchen.
"Lena, Lena." Madam Carmen called. She just walked into the kitchen but Lena was so lost in thoughts that she barely noticed her presence.
"Lena, " Madam Carmen tapped her on the shoulder awakening her from her thoughts.
"Aunt Nana, you are here." Lena smiled.
"I've been here. You are thinking about Henderson again, aren't you?" Worry laced Madam Carmen's voice.
A sigh left Lena's lips and she gave a tight nod.
"Yes. I'm worried about all that has been happening, I don't know what to do. It's been so difficult, Trent and Itzel are affected by this and I don't even know what to say to them most of the time because I don't even have the slightest idea when this is going to change."
Tears streamed down Lena's cheeks as she spoke, her lips trembling with every whimper that left her mouth.
Madam Carmen stroked Lena's arm, "I don't know when Lena but everything will be fine. But you shouldn't just sit back and let Kyra take over. Henderson is your man and no one can take him from you."
"I want to do something but the doctor said we should avoid stressing him or forcing him to remember things. And Kyra doesn't even let me go anywhere near him."
Lena was surprised to see Madam Carmen smiling despite all she had just told her. That wasn't the reaction she was expecting.
"Kyra? You don't have to worry about her. Let me get the water for Henderson, you just come with me." A smile marred Madam Carmen's face.
"How did you know Henderson wants water?" Surprise crossed Lena's face.
"I'll tell you everything. Just come with me, " Madam Carmen nudged. She picked up a water bottle, and a glass and placed them on a tray before leaving the kitchen with Lena trailing behind her.
"Henderson, here's the water you asked for." Madam Carmen smiled placing the tray on the table beside the bed.
Despite all that was happening, Madam Carmen was the only one who still addressed Henderson by his first name and they were still close even though Henderson couldn't remember her.
"Thank you, " Henderson smiled.
Lena stood at the door watching Henderson, she was perplexed because Kyra was yet to return to the room.
"Where's Kyra?" Madam Carmen asked Henderson as if she had read the thoughts going on in Lena's mind.
"She went to take a call."
A call? Lena found that suspicious, what kind of call was that? Who was Kyra speaking to for that long Lena wondered?
"Oh. Lena come give Henderson the water, he can't do that himself since his arm is broken." Madam Carmen pointed to the cast on Henderson's arm.
Lena nodded and took steps closer to them, she knew it was just an excuse Lena made just so Lena could get closer to Henderson.
Lena could feel Henderson's eyes on her as she picked up the water bottle and began to pour some water into the glass.
"Here, " Lena smiled stretching the glass to Henderson.
"Thank you."
He took it from her with his left hand since it was his right hand which was broken but Lena figured she had to help him, he was used to doing things with his right hand, not his left.
"Let me help you, " Lena smiled politely taking the glass from Henderson she lifted it to his mouth and helped him drink from it before putting the glass away and turning to face Henderson.
"Do you need anything else?"
Henderson's blue eyes pierced through her hazel eyes and her heart clapped in her chest. Lena wondered if Henderson still felt the same way, a tear slid down her cheeks.
"Are you okay? You're crying, " Henderson mumbled his voice soft with concern.
"I'm fine, I'm just..." Lena burst into tears and scooted out of the room.
.....
Lena went up to her room and cried till she couldn't anymore, she felt a pang of pain in her like it had been pierced with a million needles. Her eyes are red and puffy, scrambling out of the bed she went into the bathroom turned on the faucet and splashed some water on her face before coming out of the bathroom.
The door to her room flew open revealing a furious Kyra.
"How dare you?"
Lena's brows furrowed in confusion.
How dare she do what? What did she do this time?
"Kyra I have no time for your talks just leave me be?" Lena sighed walking over to the bed and plopped on it.
Kyra huffed ambling to the bed, her eyes blazed with anger as she gazed at Lena. She placed her hands on her hips.
"You and your cohorts decided to lock me up in the cabin outside the mansion for what reason?" Kyra's lips drew back in a snarl.
What? Lena's eyes crinkled but then it struck her Madam Carmen said some confusing things earlier did she have anything to do with it?
Right after Kyra left Lena's room after banging the door so hard as though she had a plan to make it come off, Lena went to meet Madam Carmen, she found her and Irene in the kitchen. And they told her they locked Kyra in the cabin so Lena could spend time with Henderson. They came up with the plan when Madam Carmen and Lena overheard Kyra asking Lena to bring water.
DAYS LATER....
Things became even worse, Kyra no longer asked for assistance from Lena. The only time Lena or anyone else could see Henderson was when he stepped out of his room. Lena found out something which was a shocker to her, she caught Greg and Kyra kissing but they didn't see her. Lena decided she needed a lot of help as much as she could get to bring things back to normal and expose Kyra and Greg.
Lena took a deep breath and slowly exhaled before ringing the doorbell. She just hoped that she was making the right decision being here, but she just had to take a risk. After all, it's a risk not to take a risk.
She withdrew her hand from the door waiting for a response. A few seconds later, the door creaked open revealing Alia whose face contorted in a frown the moment her eyes met Lena's.
"Lena! What are you doing here?"
