Chapter 88 Reasons!
"Babe, why did you tell Alia that she could stay? I was going to tell her that she wasn't welcome in our home. You don't have to be nice to her simply because she is my sister."
A pronounced sigh left Lena's lips, she closed the door and walked into the room coming to sit beside Henderson.
"I get that Alia did us wrong but giving her cold shoulders after saying you've forgiven her is not fair. She already apologised a lot of times what else do you want her to do? We both know she can't go back in time and change the things she did so just let it go. Why don't you just try to dwell on the amazing and good things she has done for you, it will make it easier for you to put this behind you. Alia raised you, she brought you and Cleo up and she loves you two a lot."
Henderson paused for a second before drawing in a sharp breath.
"You are very kind Lena. But not everyone is like you. Take for example Greg and Kyra, despite how nice and good you were to them they stabbed us in the back."
Lena's lips pressed together and she nodded her head, "I know but that's not an excuse for you to keep ignoring Alia, she's not Greg and Kyra, she is your older sister. I know for a fact that the world is filled with cruel people but we don't have to be like them. And I'm sure that deep within you, you still love and care about Alia."
Lena had barely finished talking when they heard a loud scream from outside. Lena recognise the voice to be Alia's.
"That's Alia," Lena mumbled springing up to her feet. Henderson did the same and went after Lena who was already outside the room.
"Ouch, " Alia winced in pain trying to stand up her feet.
"What happened?" Concern laced Lena's voice and she squatted in front of Alia.
"I was coming to meet you and Henderson when I slipped and my ankle hurts. " Alia exhaled biting her lips in a bid to stop herself but crying out in pain.
"Sorry let me help you up." Lena wrapped her arms around Alia trying to lift her but she couldn't, Alia weighed more than she thought.
"Here, grab my hand." Henderson extended his left hand to Alia.
"Thank you, " she smiled taking his hand. Lena wrapped her arms around Alia this time with Henderson's ais she was able to help Alia stand up to her feet.
"Can you walk?" Lena asked concern seeping her features as she turned to Alia.
Alia nodded she put her left leg forward and tried to move but the excruciating pain that settled in her leg made her halt.
"That won't be possible, just lean on me for support," Lena told Alia and then put a hand around her shoulder.
Alia tried to take a step but she was finding it very difficult because of the pain in her ankle.
"Where are Irene and Cleo?"
"They are outside the house," Alia answered Lena's question.
"They should come help. I'll call them."
"You don't have to, I'll help her," Henderson muttered coming beside Lena.
"Your arm is broken, " Lena reminded pointing to his right hand which was in a cast.
"I can use my left hand, " Henderson assured, he took a few steps and stopped beside Alia.
With Henderson on one side and Lena on the other side, Alia was able to take slow steps until they got to one of the guest rooms. They helped her lay on the bed.
"I'll call the doctor, " Henderson uttered gazing at Lena who nodded in agreement.
When his eyes shifted to Alia, she shook her head.
"It's already late, I'll just apply some ointment. That was what I did the other time this happened." Alia shrugged.
"What you sprained your ankle and you didn't even go to a hospital? You just applied ointment?" Henderson scowled.
Even though his tone sounded like he was scolding her it still exuded care and concern.
Lena's lips grew in a smile regardless of what Henderson said he still loved Alia, there was no doubt about that.
"Well the pain went away in a few days so I didn't think it was necessary for me to see a doctor," Alia explained but Henderson wasn't buying it. He still had the same expression on his face.
"I'll call the doctor right away." Henderson sighed.
The doctor came over and after checking the leg he said she was going to heal in a week or two since the leg had been injured previously and she didn't get any treatment at that time. After making sure that Alia was okay, Lena and Henderson checked on Trent and Itzel before going to Henderson's room.
"What if Alia is just pretending so she can extend her stay here?" Henderson's face twisted in a frown.
Lena chuckled, "You don't really think that do you? You were the one who was scolding her for not going to the doctor earlier."
"Well..."
Lena arched her brows at him, she folded her arms across her chest peering at Henderson with crinkled eyes.
"Well, what? Alia would be staying here until she recovers so we can look after her."
"I have to go to bed now, good night." Lena smiled kissing Henderson.
"You can sleep here," Henderson whispered when Lena made to get up from the bed.
Lena's eyes flickered with mischief, " Why? I have my own room. Or do you need anything else? And why are you whispering? It's just the two of us." Lena said in a whisper.
Henderson laughed, "It's not what you are thinking Lena."
"What do you think I'm thinking?" Lena's brows rose.
Henderson let out a sigh.
"I don't know. I only want you to stay because my arm is broken and I might need help to get whatever I need..." Henderson paused racking his brain to bring up more reasons but he couldn't think of any more convincing reasons.
"But your legs are perfectly fine..." Lena murmured under her breath but Henderson heard her.
"I will stay, I was just pulling your legs." Lena chortled.
"This dress looks beautiful on you, " Henderson complimented.
Lena's brows furrowed and she pouted wrapping her arms around Henderson's neck.
"Just the dress not me?"
"No, that wasn't what I meant... I meant to say.."
Lena burst out laughing and Henderson stared at her with amused brows.
"I was just joking.... Thank you for the compliment."
Lena leaned in for a kiss just then a knock came on the door.
"Who the fuck is that!" Henderson groaned.
"Yes come in," Lena answered turning in the direction of the door.
"Itzel, Trent. Are you two okay?" Lena's voice was soft with affection. They had gloomy countenances.
"What are you both doing here?" Henderson's brows rose.
Lena glared at him before rushing to them. She held their hands and then brought them into the room.
"Daddy you don't look happy to see us." Itzel lips pressed together as she turned to Henderson.
"Did we do something wrong?" Trent's voice came next.
