Chapter 85—A Good Day?
"Henderson, " Alia scooted to him embracing him.
"You remember me?" Her face brightened as she pulled away from the hug.
Henderson stared at her, his eyes crinkled and his lips pressed against each other.
Lena ambled closer to Henderson, her eyes sparkling like stars in the sky, her heart was beating hard in her chest.
"Do you remember Alia or have you regained...."
"Who are you? I saw you in my dream." Henderson asked with narrowed eyes peering at Lena.
The smile on Alia's face faded. She glanced over at Lena. Lena's excitement had died down she looked like she was going to burst into tears any moment from now.
"So you're saying you don't know me? You saw me in your dream?" Alia mumbled sadly.
Henderson nodded in response, "Yes. I saw you and Lena that's how I know your name. Who are you?"
Alia's jaw dropped and she plopped on the bed beside Henderson.
"Kyra and Greg have been lying to you. They are not your...."
"That's not true. Kyra is carrying my baby, she also showed me pictures of us together." Henderson countered. His face gleamed as he spoke about Kyra, his voice exuded warmth and care.
Lena sighed gazing downwards, she let the tears flow freely. Several thoughts ran through her mind, once again Kyra was playing the pregnancy card, the same one that made her move to Oxwey. Lena was contemplating telling Henderson the truth. Lena's phone chimed notifying her that she just got a message.
"Kyra is not who she claims to be. She is not..."
"Stop Alia, " Lena yelled loudly making Alia pause and turn to her. Alia was perplexed by Lena's behaviour. She didn't expect that Lena was going to stop her from explaining things to Henderson.
"Let's go, " Lena beckoned.
"Are you okay?" Henderson murmured softly his voice soft with concern as his eyes met Lena's.
"Yeah.... Yeah.." Lena nodded and ran out of the room.
"Wait up, wait.." Alia called out going after Lena.
.....
"If you know what is good for you, don't even think about telling Henderson the truth or he'll be dead before any of you know it. And don't think this is just a mere threat, I help him do most things killing him would be so simple and easy." Cleo huffed after reading out the message Kyra had sent to Lena's phone earlier when Lena was in Henderson's room. That was the reason Lena stopped Alia from telling the truth to Henderson.
"Now, I think it's high time we involve the cops, " Matteo sighed turning to Brian who nodded in support.
"Kyra and Greg have gone overboard, not only are they fooling Henderson now they are threatening to kill him. I think it's high time, do something to get them out of my lives for good, the earlier the better it will be for all of us." Brian stated.
Lena rested her chin on her palm, she nibbled on her lips lost in thoughts.
"You are right Matteo. Who knows what Kyra might do next?" Cleo's face contorted in a frown.
Everyone glanced at Lena waiting to hear what she was going to say or if she was okay with the idea.
Lena exhaled shaking her head, " I've thought about that so many times but think about, how do you think Henderson will feel if he finds out about it? He believes Kyra is his fiancee and also carrying his child."
"Carrying his child? She is playing that game again." Brian scoffed.
"What if they've had sex?" Irene blurted out before she could realise it, and when she saw the hurt in Lena's eyes she regretted it immediately.
"Irene, " Brian cautioned glaring at her and she sighed.
"I'm sorry that came out wrong, I didn't..."
Lena gave her a small smile, " It's fine."
"I don't think that has happened between them, Henderson is yet to recover fully and Kyra has a boyfriend....." Alia muttered trying to calm the tension that had found its way to the room.
"No one asked for your opinion, " Cleo murmured faking a smile.
"Cleo take it easy on her, she's still your sister." Lena sighed glancing at Cleo who was giving Alia a once-over.
"It's fine, " Alia managed to smile waving it off. She couldn't blame Cleo for treating her the way she was at the moment, she deserved it. When Cleo found out her husband Henry was cheated, instead of giving her the support she needed at that time she wanted Irene to take him back and was against her getting a divorce.
She hurt Henderson as well, trying to stop his blooming love story with Lena and when she failed she resulted to hiring Kyra to destroy the relationship. She was selfish indeed, yet Lena was still considerate and kind towards her when she was totally underserving of such kindness.
She failed to see how amazing Lena was, she hated from the instant she set her eyes on her that she wasn't even willing to give Lena a chance or get to know her better and now everything had backfired and she had to bear the heat.
"You all have the right to be upset with me for all I did, I was selfish and foolish. I was only thinking about myself when saying all those things to guys. But after being away for so long and coming back here to see Henderson in that condition, I've realised how wrong I was. There is justification for what I did to you Cleo, I should have supported you that time you needed me the most and now that I think about it, I'm glad you had Lena and Henderson and didn't take my advice else you would have been stuck with a cheating husband. I'm sorry, Cleo. Please forgive me." Alia's lips pressed together, her eyes exuded remorse. She took steps closer to Cleo who shifted her gaze from Alia the moment she saw her coming in her direction.
"Come on, Cleo." Lena smiled pointing to Alia who was now standing beside Cleo.
Cleo puffed a breath, she folded her arms across her chest before veering to face Alia.
"You know how much I and Henderson love you yet you did that. And what you did hiring Kyra who is the reason for all of this was a wrong decision, I expected better from you." Cleo's mouth set in a hard line.
Alia drew a breath, "I'm sorry, I have no justifications... I."
"It's fine, " Cleo mumbled placing a hand on Alia's shoulder.
Alia's face brightened, "does that mean you forgive..."
"After you apologise to Lena." Cleo chipped in.
Alia nodded with a smile." I was going to do that right after talking to you."
Alia's eye shifted to Lena and she gulped down the lump that seemed to have formed in her throat. She didn't even know where to start the apology, she had done a lot of terrible things to Lena for absolutely no reason.
"Lena, I'm sorry for everything I did to you, to Trent. For treating you the way I did, I've realised my mistakes. Please forgive me." Alia clasped her hands together.
"I forgive you. It's okay." Lena smiled embracing Alia, who was taken aback.
Lena forgave her, just like that!
"Lena you are so soft-hearted, you should have given her a hard time," Cleo whined playfully joining the hug.
NEXT MORNING....
It was a Saturday morning. Lena was standing by her window watching the sun peak brightly ready to start a new day. Her heart fluttered in her heart and she felt ecstatic for reasons she didn't even know.
Her shoulders rose slightly as she breathed in, and she hummed with her head low. She had a good feeling about today, she was all smiles as she ambled away from her window and went into the bathroom to get done with her morning business.
Unlike Lena today she had a problem picking out an outfit that she almost ransacked through all her clothes, finally she chose a red knee-length body con dress that had spaghetti straps.
She let her hair fall freely on her shoulder and applied mascara and some lipgloss. Her lips curved up happily as she took in her reflection in the mirror. She looked gorgeous, letting out a breath, she ambled out of her room. She checked Itzel's room and then Trent's room but they were still asleep. Now she and Trent no longer shared a room, Trent wanted his own room she wasn't cool with it at first but Henderson made her see reasons and she agreed to it.
Lena headed to the living room, it seemed as though she was the only one awake aside from the workers because she was yet to see Cleo and Irene. She concluded they were still in bed.
Lena froze in her spot, her heartbeat accelerated and the muscles in her stomach tightened as her eyes darted to the stairs. Henderson was standing there and Greg was right there about to push him.
"Greg!"
Lena yelled but it was rather too late Henderson was already rolling down the stairs, Greg had already pushed him.
"Henderson!" Lena let out a loud scream her eyes moistened with tears as she ran to Henderson who was lying on the floor.
