Chapter 79—Who Are You?
"Wait what? She is the Kyra, what is she even doing here?" Brian scowled at Kyra who was gazing downward avoiding eye contact with Brian.
"And he is the Greg?" Brian made a scrunched-up face as he shifted his gaze to Greg who was perplexed by Brian's comment about him even though they were just meeting for the first time.
Brian's eyes wandered to Kyra and they darkened with rage, " Do you know what I had to go through because of you? If I had met you before I and Henderson sorted things out, I would have made you pay for everything you did. It's surprising you still have the guts to show up here even after the atrocities you've committed."
"I'm sorry, please forgive me." Brian made to shut her up but refrained from it when he saw the pleading look Lena gave him.
"Please Brian she's really sorry. Forgive her, " Lena pleaded on Kyra's behalf.
"Fine, only because of you Lena," Brian mumbled.
"Thank you, " Lena smiled.
"And what did I do wrong?" Greg stared at Brian with raised brows folding his arms across his chest.
A smirk tugged the side of Brian's lips, " What do you think you did young man?"
Brian gave Greg a pat on the shoulder before ambling away leaving Greg to wonder what Brian meant by that statement.
Lena sighed, she felt bad for the treatment Greg was receiving, if she hadn't blurted out the other day that Greg confessed he had feelings for her none of that was going to be happening. Just when Henderson and Greg started to get along she even began to envision them as friends but she ended up messing things up with her mouth.
"I'm really sorry, Lena. If my presence is making you all uncomfortable I can just leave." Kyra exhaled, her eyes moistened with tears as she hoisted her head to peer at Lena.
Lena was about to say something but Cleo beat her to it. Cleo's nose crinkled with disgust as she leered at Kyra her eyes exuding utter dislike.
"Yes, your annoying presence is making everyone uncomfortable. So leave! Who knows if you are up to something now as well once a relationship wrecker always a relationship...."
"Cleo, that's enough," Lena interjected before Cleo could complete her sentence.
Cleo huffed glaring at Kyra before shifting her gaze to Lena.
"I'm just saying the truth. We shouldn't trust this lady, I'm pretty sure you are familiar with the saying once bitten twice shy."
"Cleo, I understand how you feel but we should give her a chance." Lena smiled.
"Fine, but my eyes are on her." Cleo tone was harsh, she pointed her fingers at Kyra before going upstairs.
"I'm sorry about that, " Lena apologised.
A sad smile crept on Kyra's face, " It's fine, I deserve even more."
A FEW HOURS LATER.....
"Gosh!" Irene exclaimed in anger after picking up her phone which was on the floor. The screen of her phone was shattered beyond recognition.
"Look what you did!" She seethed showing the screen of the phone to the guy who was in front of her.
"Who are you?" A smile marred the guy's face.
Irene's jaw clenched in anger as she gazed at the guy. Here she was upset about the present condition of the new phone she just got for herself two days ago and he was asking who she was and even smiling. How was that going to bring her phone back to the way it was before he ruined it?
"You are crazy!" Irene yelled rolling her eyes at him before striding away.
"Irene, I'm glad you are ok." Lena giggled embracing Irene who just walked into the living room.
"You look beautiful sis."
Lena was all dressed up for her engagement party only an hour was left until the party. She was glad that Irene finally showed up.
"Thank you. But you don't look ok? Does that have anything to do with why you didn't come since? Where is Matteo? Did you two not come together?" Lena's voice held concern as she spoke.
Irene took a deep breath, " Matteo went to get something he'll be here soon. Right outside a crazy guy bumped into me and because of him my phone's screen was shattered."
Irene rasped showing the phone's screen to Lena.
"I'm sorry about your phone Irene, maybe it was a mistake from the guy."
Irene scoffed shaking her finger, " It certainly wasn't a mistake. I would have believed it was a mistake if the jerk of a guy had apologised but he didn't instead he just asked who I was."
"What?" Lena sputtered chuckling.
"Exactly my reaction. That question sounded stupid to me so I just walked off because if I had stayed any second more and listened to his nonsense then he would have regretted the second he thought it was a good idea to ruin my phone."
"This guy you are talking about could you describe him?" She wondered if it was one of the guards, workers who had managed to get Irene so upset.
"I wish I could but I didn't take out time to really look at him. I was so furious I only have the picture of his annoying horrible face playing in my head." Irene said through gritted teeth.
Lena laughed, " Take it easy on that guy. I'm sure it wasn't his intention. You can get a new phone."
Irene sighed, " Getting a new phone isn't the problem, it's the fact that this phone is just two days and the guy couldn't apologise even after all he did. That aside, guess what your beloved mother did? She switched up my phone, locked me up in the house and left with the key. I only realised that when it was time for me to leave the house. Matteo came over and thankfully with his help I was able to get out of the house. You know what now my mind is made up I'm packing out of that house once I get myself a place. I'm fed up with mom's behaviour."
Lena frowned, " Now, I don't even have a word to say to stop you. Mom is overdoing it, why would you lock you up in the house."
Lena got no response from Irene whose attention was now elsewhere, her eyes were fixed on the door which screeched open after which Brian stepped in.
"You again!" Irene's lips drew back in a snarl as her eyes bored into Brian's whose face had been clouded with recognition.
