Chapter 61— Don't Be Henderson!
Surprise engraved Brian's countenance when he pulled the door open and saw Henderson standing there.
"What a pleasant surprise...." The rest of the words never got out of Brian's mouth as a punch from Henderson sent him staggering.
"What's wrong with you?" A frown slid on Brian's face when he regained his balance.
Henderson punched Brian once again, this time the force of the punch was strong enough to send him to the ground.
Brian touched his lips and spat out blood before tilting his head to gaze at Henderson whose eyes darkened in rage, his hand clenched in a tight fist. He took steps towards Brian sizing him up.
"Dude! What the fuck is wrong with you?" Brian yelled when Henderson stood in front of him.
"I'm just getting started motherfucker!" Henderson seethed with anger.
"Get up!" Henderson gestured, he rolled up his sleeves ready for a physical confrontation.
Henderson's behaviour left Brian in a state of confusion. His best friend was acting like a mentally deranged person who had just fled from an asylum.
Brian looked at Henderson strangely while he sprang up to his feet. "Enough of this, Henderson. If this is some kind of prank you better stop it!"
Henderson snickered, "You think this a prank? You are mistaken, I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget for daring to betray me"
Brian's eyes crinkled in confusion as he peered at Henderson.
"Betraying you? What are you talking about?"
Once again Henderson dashes towards Brian with a fierce jab. Brian screamed out in pain when he hit the ground.
The scream made Henderson take steps backwards, if he didn't take control of his anger he was going to forget the fact that he and Brian were ever friends and probably kill him or send him into a coma.
"For the sake of the fact that we were once friends, I'll leave but it doesn't change the fact that we cease to be friends henceforth. I should never have trusted you, you know even in a thousand years if someone had told me that you hired that Kyra girl and made her do what she did, I would never have believed."
Henderson let Kyra off when he found out who sent her, to him the culprit here was Brian and not Kyra since she only acted on his commands.
"What are you talking about?" Brian's brows were raised, and he winced as he tried to sit up due to the pain.
"Fuck you, Brian!" Henderson cursed staring down at Brian like a worthless piece of trash before ambling away.
...........
...........
"Can both of stop saying that to me?" Henderson yelled standing up to his feet.
After he got back from Brian's house, he told Matteo and Cleo whom he met at the mansion that Brian was responsible for all that happened. They orchestrated the whole thing, Kyra had confessed to him. She said Brian paid her to take the pictures which she showed to Lena to convince her that Henderson had cheated on her. She told Henderson that the part about them having sex was a lie, nothing happened between them. She only said what Brian asked her to say.
Henderson was devasted that his best friend could do that to him, he comforted him every single fact despite being the cause of his pain and now Matteo and Cleo were taking his side.
"What is wrong with you Henderson? You are not a kid, are you? How can you believe the words of a total stranger over the words of your best friend? For all we know Kyra might be lying the same way she lied about you and her sleeping together." Cleo broke the ice first.
Henderson glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, he was on the verge of uttering a retort but she interjected once more.
"I don't believe that Brian hired that Kyra girl. If he did why then did he bring up the idea of hiring a private investigator? And he has been helping to find Lena. You and Brian have been friends for years, I don't think he can do the thing you are accusing him of."
Matteo nodded, "Cleo is right. When I got upset after hearing the conversation between you and Cleo, he explained everything to me and made me understand the truth. If he is as guilty as you are saying he is I'm pretty sure, he would never have bothered to do any of that."
Henderson huffed, his gaze darting from Cleo to Matteo.
"You guys believe whatever you want to believe. What is more important to me at the moment is finding Lena and Trent."
With that, Henderson stormed out of the living room.
OXWEY CITY....
"Lena, can we talk? I need to talk to you, " Greg muttered taking a sit beside Lena. They had just finished their usual after-work meeting, The others had gone to get their things so they could leave but Lena was still seated having a conversation with Mike.
"Bye, " Mike waved rising on his feet. He shook hands with Greg before ambling away.
Lena stood up immediately after Mike left, as she made to walk past Greg, he held her hand making her pause.
"Can we just talk, please? I won't take much of your time. I promise." He sighed before letting go of Lena's hand.
Lena drew a breath, stepped aside and then sauntered back to her seat.
Her lips pressed together and she crossed her arms, "What is it you want to talk about Greg?"
"Can I sit?" Greg mumbled pointing at the void space beside her.
"I don't own the couch, do whatever you want."
Greg nodded and then settled on the couch.
A chuckle left his lips which was the effect of Lena's sassy words.
"I'm sorry for all that you've had to go through in the past weeks. I'm sorry about all Ria has done and I'm sorry if confessing my feelings to you made you uncomfortable. I just wish we could go back to being friends like we used to be before any of these started."
"I'm sorry for the way I reacted to all of this, you were not at fault in any way. And I don't mind being friends with you so long Ria doesn't cut my head off, " Lena joked and Greg burst out laughing.
"I don't think she would do that, she's very peaceful these days. I'm guessing the slap you gave her was the therapy she needed, " Greg whispered.
Lena chuckled shaking her head.
"We are going to be dead if she hears that, " Lena murmured to his hearing and they laughed.
They stopped laughing when Mike walked back into the room.
"Lena, I was about to leave when I saw a guy outside asking after you. He is at the front of the restaurant.
Instantaneously, Lena sprang up to her feet the gears in her mind turning quickly as she found her way to the front of the restaurant to see who was asking after her. She knew it was either Henderson or Matteo, a part of her wished it was Henderson while the other prayed that it wasn't him.
Lena saw Matteo and Trent laughing together at whatever they were talking about when she got to the front of the restaurant. She felt a tinge of disappointment when she saw that it wasn't Henderson but she shoved it away deep down reminding herself that Henderson was the last person she needed to see at the moment.
"Matteo, " Lena called out making him turn in her direction.
