Chapter 40 —I Love You With All Of Me!

It's been a week since Lena turned down Henderson's offer to see a doctor or even a therapist. Cleo left a day after Henderson returned, she said her husband was back from his trip and they planned to move from the city they lived into the city Henderson lived in, and she wanted to do that together with her husband. Lena felt as though Henderson no longer took notice of her, he was giving her cold shoulders. He avoided her like she was a plague that even Itzel noticed and asked if they had a fight again but Henderson and Lena both countered it saying everything was ok between them. Things had become really akward between them and she could not place her hands on what could have made things turn that way except that she wasn't willing to go see a doctor or a therapist. But that was her personal business, she saw no reason why it would matter to Henderson and make him upset to the extent of getting the cold treatment from him. Lena's phone chimed disrupting her thoughts. Her brows furrowed when she saw that the number calling was unknown. "Hello, who is this?" Lena inquired. "It's me, Lena." Axel! The phone almost fell out of Lena's hand as a result of the shock that hit her when she heard Axel's voice. 'How was he able to get her contact? This guy was stalking her for real.' The thought of this made her breath hitch, her heart was palpitating hard in her chest and it sent shivers down her spine. "Are you there Lena?" "How did you get my contact, Axel?" Lena yelled when she finally found her voice. There was a small laugh from Axel before he started to speak. "As I've always told you, I have my ways my beautiful Lena Cohen." Lena spat in disgust even though Axel couldn't see her, her tone was enough to radiate her disdain for Axel. "I'm not yours, Axel. I will never be. Stay away from me!" Axel's taunting laughter filled Lena's ears. "I wish I could but I can't, not when you have something that is mine." "What are you talking....about?" Lena stuttered trying her very best to keep her speech in check but her voice betrayed her as it kept breaking. "You have my son. I got a DNA done after I met Trent and it matched. He is my son, why did you lie to me? Did you really think that telling Henderson about me coming to Trent's school was going to make me back down? Or did you think I was going to be scared because he got a letter of restraint against me?" Axel snickered. Lena was sweaty, her head was spinning and she was unable to put her thoughts together. Her mind was a mess, she ran her hand through her hair as she tried to stop herself from panicking. But she couldn't, Axel had found out the one thing she never wanted him to know and it was going to be disastrous for her and Trent's well-being. "I hear it is going to bring your dad to school day at Trent's school in three days and I feel that I have to show up. It is high time I start to bond with my son since you've kept him away from me for all these years." "Don't you dare go anywhere near my son Axel, else I would make you regret fucking pathetic miserable life, " Lena roared in anger before she hung up. She plopped on the bed and groaned in frustration. 'What do I do?' She muttered breaking into tears. During Dinner... Lena ate in uttermost silence. Trent, Itzel and Henderson did the talking and laughing while they ate. Lena would have skipped dinner since she had a lot going on in her mind and barely had the appetite for food but she didn't want it to raise an alarm to the kids or Henderson that something was wrong with her. "Daddy it is going to be bring your Dad day in school in two days time, " Itzel informed. Henderson nodded, "I already got a message from your school concerning that." "Mommy since my Daddy is dead, who is going to come as my Daddy?" Trent asked suddenly making Lena turn her attention to him. She was short of words, she didn't know what to say to him, the sad look on his face grieved her heart. She had always told Trent that his daddy was in heaven and he was going to meet him one day whenever he asked about his father. "Trent don't worry ok, I will be there for you and Itzel. If that's fine with you Lena, " Henderson muttered when he saw the uneasiness that settled Lena when Trent brought the issue up. Henderson had absolutely no idea that Trent's father was dead because neither Lena nor Trent spoke about who Trent's father was and even after his findings he was unable to get to know who Trent's father was because Matteo did a great job at hiding that away from him. The only thing he knew was that Lena was a single mother who had never been married so he thought it might have been a baby-mama and baby daddy situation that led to the birth of Trent. "I don't mind." Lena bobbed her head before she could give it a proper thought. Only after her response did she realise what the possible outcome of things could be. Henderson showing up at the kids' school and meeting Axel there, or Axel telling Henderson that he was Axel's father exposing her lie? Several thoughts flooded her mind, and one thing she knew for sure was that this was going to be disastrous for her since Axel was involved, after all, what Axel did best was ruin things, even if he pretended to care. A day later.... Lena couldn't believe that she was standing in front of Zel's empire! She had come all the way to Henderson's office to give him a file which he left at the mansion earlier. She found the file in the living room an hour after Henderson left with Itzel and Trent, she remembered hearing Henderson telling Itzel that it was a really important file that he had to use at the office so she decided to bring the file to him and packed some food to him since he didn't have breakfast. He worked all through the night and skipped breakfast. She was worried about him but didn't say a word to him because she had no idea what to say to him, it wasn't in her place to tell him what to do after all it was as if she listened to his advice, she feared he was going to use that against her, so she held back. But she couldn't anymore, her heart seemed to be in control, all she knew was that after finding the file and packing the food she made him she thought about coming to the office and boom she had already entered the car and now she was here. "Do you have an appointment with Mr Bain?" The receptionist Chelsey asked her eyes crinkling with disgust after Lena asked to see Henderson. "Not really but I have.." Lena didn't get to complete the rest of her statement because Matteo appeared in front of her. "Lenny, what are you doing here?" Matteo asked surprised crossed his face as he embraced her. "I came to see Henderson, it's important." She mumbled after they broke the hug. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you are the Lena." Chelsey gasped faking surprise. She knew right from the time Lena walked in that she was the Lena Cohen that blew the internet after the award ceremony but she pretended not to. She hated Lena even know this was the first time she had seen her, well she hated her right from the time she watched Lena and Henderson on Tv when they walked into the events auditorium holding hands. "I'm really sorry for making you wait. You can go see Mr Bain immediately, " Chelsey apologised but she had a plan in mind. Lena's lips pressed together, "don't you have to inform him first." "That wouldn't matter. I'm sure Mr Bain would want to see you right away." Chelsey smiled. Lena was going to counter it but didn't when Matteo called her name. "You brought me some food?" He asked smiling as his eyes settled on the lunchbox Lena was holding. "It's for Henderson, " she mumbled lowly avoiding Matteo's face that wore mischief. Matteo's eyes went wide but his countenance soon turned to a frown. "Now, I'm jealous." "He didn't have breakfast. I also brought an important file." Lena mumbled. She didn't want Matteo to think that she was here for other reasons or that there was something going on between her and Henderson. "I have some work to attend to, you better go meet him before it's time for his meeting. He has a meeting to attend in a few minutes." Matteo told her. "Just take a walk, the first office by the right. It has an inscription CEO, that's the office." Matteo described with a sheepish smile on his face before he sauntered away. Lena glanced at Chelsey who was staring daggers at her. "Thank you, " Lena smiled. Lena had so much going on in her head that she was oblivious to the ill feelings Chelsey had towards her. "You are welcome, " Chelsey wore her most fake smile. Lena's knuckles tapped against the door to Henderson's office softly as she stood in front of the door. "Come in, " she heard him answer. She pushed the door open and walked in. "Lena, you are here, " Henderson's eyes held surprise as they beheld Lena. Lena's eyes were fixed elsewhere on Vivian whose intense fevered glare rested on Lena. "Hi, " Lena mumbled. Vivian rolled her eyes at Lena after sizing her up, she could help but what her ex-husband found so special in a girl as mere and common as Lena. Vivian let out a loud hiss and brushed Lena's shoulder pushing her when she walked past her. "How dare you, Vivian?" Henderson ranted springing up to his feet when he saw what Vivian did to Lena. "Coming here was a terrible mistake, " Vivian huffed angrily. She grabbed the doorknob and pulled the door open, she strode out and closed it with a loud bang. "What are you doing here, Lena?" Henderson asked as he took steps toward her. "I brought these for you. You left the file at home and you didn't have lunch so I brought them." Lena walked past Henderson and placed the lunch pack and file on his huge desk before turning to face him. "You didn't have to stress yourself with all of this." Henderson shrugged. Lena sighed once again he was giving her attitude but she couldn't blame him. 'What if he was still in love with his ex-wife? If it wasn't so why was Vivian here earlier?' The thought of it alone made Lena's chest clench. "I'm sorry about Vivian's attitude. She just showed up here." Henderson spoke as if he read her thoughts. "You still love her, right?" Lena thought aloud before the realisation hit her. Henderson chuckled, "That would be a stupid thing to do. I used to love Vivian but not anymore. I'm in love with someone else." Lena felt some kind of relief like a weight was lifted off her when Henderson said he was no longer in love with Vivian but when he talked about being in love with someone else, she felt an unexplainable wave of emotion hit her. She was tempted to ask Henderson who he was in love with but that would mean prying into his personal life so she kicked against it. "Don't you want to know who it is I'm in love with?" Henderson arched a brow and leaned closer to Lena. Lena gulped at the close proximity which was sending tingles through her entire body and got her heart beating hard in her chest. "I'm in love with you Lena. I don't know how it all happened, it took me so long to realise and admit my feelings but one thing I'm very sure of is that I love you with all of me." Henderson purred his eyes blazing with love as they pierced Lena's. 'Huh! Were her ears playing tricks on her?'
