Chapter 87—Villain's Speech
"Did you both really think that we were going to leave? We have been waiting to hear the news of your death but since you refused to die. I'll tell you what all of this is about. Your accident was orchestrated by us, we made the driver of the car which crashed into yours do it. And then we came out of our car and claimed to know you and that was how everything started. Initially, the aim was for you to die on the spot at the accident scene but since that didn't happen, we had to come up with another plan and when we found out you had amnesia as a result of the accident. We decided to use that to our advantage and I guess it worked." Greg snickered as he peered at Lena and Henderson.
Henderson was discharged from the hospital, the doctor said he could continue to receive treatment from home.
Surprise crept on their faces and they exchanged glances with each other. Everyone was present in the living room aside from Trent and Itzel who were upstairs.
Kyra and Greg turned out to each other and burst into hysterical laughter.
"How dare you two? You tried to kill Henderson!" Lena roared. She was enraged by the confession, anger surged through every one of her veins.
"Henderson you should be dead by now, it will be payment for lives you've ruined, " Kyra's lips drew back in a snarl.
Henderson's face contorted in a frown and he scoffed. Fury coursed through him, not only did Kyra and Greg lie and fool him they also tried to kill him but for what?
"Lives? Ruined? What is this about? Uhmmm are you both going to give a long villain giving stupid reasons why you did what you did?"
"You two regardless of what you say you are still going to jail for everything!" Cleo barked glaring at them.
Kyra's lips trembled, " Jail, I don't want..."
"That's not going to happen, " Greg interjected putting his hand on her shoulder assuring her. Then he kissed her.
"You think? Before you both will be taken away by the police just hand over the keys to my house in Oxwey right now." Lena barked.
She had barely finished talking when Greg threw a key at her, if she hadn't moved away on time the key would have hit her right in the face.
"Have you lost your mind?" Henderson yelled getting up from the couch but Lena made him sit back.
She shook her head, " Just leave it be babe."
Greg's mocking laughter filled the room, " what can he possibly do with a broken arm rather than sit down?"
"I'll end...."
"It's fine, " Lena held onto Henderson's hand stopping him from standing up.
Lena's face darkened, and her eyes flashed hit waves at Greg as she gazed at him.
"Greg this is enough! Why are you doing all of these? If anyone had told me in times past that you would turn out to be such a person I would never have believed them. I thought you were my friend."
Greg huffed, " Friend? I don't see you as a friend, you are a foe. You and your fiancee ruined everything because of you Lena my brother was killed by hanging and his wife behind bars." His jaw tightened.
Brother killed? Wife behind bars? Brother?
"Axel? You are his brother?" Lena gasped. Axel was the only person she could think of and she needed an affirmation from Greg.
"Yeah! I've been keeping a close eye on all of you when I found out that Alia had hired Kyra to cause a rift between you and Henderson, I waited for your next step, all this I did from Oxwey. And then I intentionally made sure I met you and became friends with you, it was all part of the plan. I was always there when you needed me, at a point honestly I started having feelings for you but then I confessed my feelings and you rejected me I was forced to remember my goal and stick to achieving it. That day I deliberately came over to your house with Kyra and about the accommodation issues, it was all a lie. My family have mansions all around, the house you brag about is a poultry compared to it."
Now Henderson was standing he launched at Greg and punched him before grabbing his collar with his left hand which was not in a cast.
"I've never seen a person as foolish as you are. Do you have even the slightest bit of idea of what your fucking brother Axel did? Not only was he a rapist, he was a paedophile and even if he comes back to life again, I'll do everything in my power to make sure he dies. If you want to go spend the rest of your miserable days behind bars in one piece I'll advise you abstain from saying any offensive words to Lena." Henderson raged staring down at Greg since he was taller.
Greg reared his fist to punch Henderson but Henderson was watchful enough to tactically dodge the punch and kick him in the knees making him stagger but Greg was still standing. Another kick this time to the stomach was enough to send him to the ground.
Kyra made to interfere but Lena grabbed her, she slapped her hard in the face and then pushed her to the floor.
" You both are going to jail for your actions!" Alia seethed with anger coming to stand beside Lena.
Kyra laughed mockingly seated on the floor.
"And you are a saint? You made me sabotage your brother's relationship, how are you any different? We might end up becoming inmates there so as the nice lady I am, I'm extending you a hand of friendship, " Kyra faked a smile.
Alia fell silent, she was as guilty as charged. She was no different from Kyra, Alia was perturbed Henderson was yet to say a word to her but she knew he was still mad at her she could tell from the look in his eye whenever he gazed at her.
"Shut the hell up! You and Greg are the devils here, not Alia!" Lena fumed.
Henderson called the cops and Kyra and Greg were taken away, and a case was filed against them.
Henderson's hand wrapped around Lena's waist, he leaned closer and kissed her.
"Babe, I'm sorry for what I made you go through. I...." Lena placed a finger on his lips putting an end to the rest of the statement.
"It's not your fault Henderson. I'm just so happy that you've regained your memory now, your recovery is all that matters to me at the moment." Lena smiled.
"Today is supposed to be put wedding and... I can't help but feel horrible for all that has happened."
" You don't have to feel that way darling, we just have to focus on you getting better. We can go on with the wedding plans later on." Lena shrugged, a smile marred her face as she spoke.
"I think there is still one person who has to leave, " Henderson stated with a cold expression as his gaze rested on Alia.
"Do I have to say the words before you leave?" His brows drew together his eyes blazing with anger.
"Babe, Alia is sorry for all she did. She was really worried about you." Lena mumbled.
Henderson shifted his gaze from Alia to Lena, the moment his eyes met Lena, his expression softened.
"What that what she told you guys? Why is she here? Why did you all let her in?"
Lena let out a sigh, before giving a response to Henderson.
"I went over to her house and I told her about your condition then she came with me. She was concerned about you."
Henderson shook his head, " Concerned? Alia is not concerned about anyone she's just plain selfish. You know what she's capable of, the way she treated you, the horrible things she said to you and as if that wasn't enough to satisfy her thirst for cruelty, she hired Kyra."
Lena nodded and drew in a breath, "Everything you have said is true but that is all in the past now, I've forgiven her and we are cool now."
Henderson lifted an eyebrow at Lena, " Why? She's not a friend, I doubt if she doesn't have another agenda in mind this time as well."
"Honey, " Lena put her hand on Henderson's shoulder and heaved a breath.
"She is your sister, I know she hurt you but just let it go. Please.."
"I'm sorry Henderson, henceforth I promise never to try to intrude in your life or anything that concerns you. Please forgive me, " Alia's lips pressed together, she clasped her hands and ambled closer to Henderson.
"Forgive you?" Henderson raised a brow and Alia nodded, her hands still clasped together.
"Fine, I forgive you. You can leave now." He squinted.
"She can at least stay for dinner right?" Lena's lips curved in a smile as she turned to Henderson.
"Fine," Henderson muttered giving Alia a once over before averting his gaze from her.
"Now that all of this is over Henderson, are you still going to keep up with the act? You've regained your lost memory but the only person you can't recognise is your best friend?" Brian's face twisted in a frown and he shut Henderson a glare.
Irene burst out laughing, " Sorry Mr. Money, blame it on your arrogance."
Irene murmured those words underneath her breath but Brian heard her clearly that he shifted his attention to her.
"Not now please Irene, I do not have the energy to exchange words with you." Brian's forehead creased and he stared at Irene with curled-up lips.
"The hate at first sight thing is still going on?" Henderson chuckled his gaze darting from Brian to Irene.
"He has been troubling you, Irene, hasn't he? Should we get a restraining order?" Henderson joked.
"I wasn't the one who pushed you down the stairs, " Brian retorted rolling his eyes at Henderson whose eyes were flickering with mischief.
Irene chortled and then she raised her hands in surrender, " We should consider, I don't want a grown man crying and cussing at me."
"You don't remember me but you enjoy taunting me?" Brian scowled.
"My dear best friend? Is this how you plan to win Irene over?" Henderson arched a brow at Brian.
"Eww, I'm not interested." The corner of Irene's eyes crinkled, her nose scrunched up with disgust as though she was inhaling a foul odour.
Brian huffed shooting both Irene and Henderson a glare, "Maybe I should just go home."
"Sorry, Brian. Don't listen to them. You should have dinner with us, " Lena interfered smiling politely at Brian who nodded.
Her smile slipped the moment she shifted her gaze to Irene and Henderson who were laughing. When they realised Lena's eyes were on them, their laughter died down and they kept serious faces.
"Come on, that's enough," Lena mumbled with a straight face.
They all had dinner together before Matteo and Brian left since it was starting to get late already. Alia was yet to leave she was seated on the couch in the living room and watching TV. Even though Henderson told her he forgave her, she still felt he was still upset with her because while they had dinner whatever statement came from her, he made sure not to give any response to them. It felt as though she was none existent to him despite her presence.
"Aren't you going to go to your house?" Henderson asked taking Alia's attention from the TV. She got off the couch and shifted her gaze to him.
"If you and Lena don't mind, can I spend the night here? I'll leave by tomorrow morning." Alia uttered this time she gazed directly at Henderson's face.
"You are not..."
Lena wrapped her hand aroaround Henderson'swer back making him turn to her.
She shook her head in disuassion before gazing at Alia.
"It's fine, you can stay. You can use any of the rooms." Lena gave her a warm smile.
