They arrived back home a few hours later, and Juliet went upstairs while Alex went to his office to make a few calls... he wanted to get things done as soon as possible... "I need you to come and take get this tomorrow morning" Alex instructed and told the person that he needed the result back as soon as possible, he also said that he didn't want any mistakes whatsoever... he ended the call and was about to call Patrick but decided not to... he wanted Patrick to concentrate on what he was doing. He didn't want to overload him with so much work, so Alex contemplated for a while before he called up a number... "I need to speak with you... I need you to find someone for me as soon as possible, " he said... __________________________ ___________________________ Juliet walked up to Alex room and sat on his bed. the box still in her hands... she opened it and started to go through the pictures. each picture had a date at the back, and she could immediately tell the dates weren't written by her mother because it wasn't her mother's handwriting. she guessed that it was probably written by Gerald... she picked up one of the letters and carefully opened the elevator and tried to make sure she didn't crumple it... it was a little address to her mom, and she carefully read through it and not even halfway through juliet found herself smiling from ear to ear. he was so sweet, and she assumed her mother probably had a smile on her face as she read through the letter... Juliet soon started to read through most of the letter, and when Alex finally came up to the room, she had fallen asleep with the letters in her hand.... he knelt by the edge of the bed, a smile on his face as he stared at her sleeping face... he carefully removed the letters from her hand and placed them back in the box as quietly as possible so he wouldn't wake her up. Alex took the box away and then made her sleep well on the bed.... he picked up the pillow and placed her head well under it so that when she woke up, she wouldn't have a neck pain. he then covered her, and she stirred in her sleep... "I'm going to make sure I find him," Alex said in a low voice and slowly caressed her face as she slept... finding Gerald was now his new priorities. his problems could wait till he solved hers... hers was more urgent than his... He was about to get up and leave the room, but juliet held his arms, her eyes slightly open as she stared at him... "Alex," She said in a low voice and turned to look at her... her eyes fluttering open and close, she was half awake and half asleep as she stared at him. "Go back to sleep," he said in a soft voice and got into the bed with her when she wouldn't listen to him... juliet rested her head on Alex chest as she slowly started to drift off back to sleep while Alex patted her arm soothingly.... "I hope he is still alive," She muttered as she finally drifted back into the land of dreams... By the time Alex opened his eyes again, it was the middle of the night, and juliet was no longer beside him... he had no idea when he, too, had drifted off to sleep... he immediately got up from the bed to look for her. "juliet," he called out to her, thinking she was in the bathroom. but she wasn't in there. Alex left his room and went downstairs... he looked in the living and other rooms. but she wasn't there. he looked around everywhere in the house and was about to leave the apartment to look for her when he remembered he hadn't checked the kitchen... Alex walked into the kitchen and that the light was off, but a light was coming from the far end of the kitchen where the freezer was.. Alex walked towards the freezer but stopped in his tracks when his eyes landed on juliet. she was seated on the floor with a bowl of ice cream in her hands and a spoon in her mouth. She became immediately startled when she saw him, and Alex was equally surprised. "Juliet," he called her name softly, and she immediately looked away and closed the ice cream... "I looked everywhere for you," Alex said as she tried to stand up, but her legs had fallen asleep, and she almost stumbled... he helped her up, and she sighed deeply... "I woke up a while ago, and I couldn't fall back asleep, but you were fast asleep, and I know you have work tomorrow. I didn't want to disturb you, " juliet said. She had come downstairs to think, but she had over thinked and needed something to let off some steam. she had come into the kitchen to get a glass of water but she had sighted the ice cream and before she knew it one thing led to another and she was sitting on the floor eating the ice cream till Alex caught her... well, he didn't really catch her, even though she felt like she had been caught red-handed... "Can I have some ice cream too?" Alex asked, and before juliet said anything. Alex picked it up and walked to the table... he drew out a chair for her to sit and walked back to get his own spoon.. a smile appeared on Juliet's face as he sat down with her, and they ate the ice cream together. "Don't hesitate to wake me up any time you want to do this, we can do it together and I can always skip work if you want" Alex said and juliet slapped his arm playfully when he mentioned skipping work... They both chuckled, and juliet felt a lot better than she had been a while back...
