"Alex is on a business trip right now... I don't know how long he will be gone, maybe a few weeks... I hope that is enough time for him and that girl to maybe grow apart or something... it pains me that I can not meet her again... I don't want to belittle myself and be that kind of mother... she isn't worth my audience, " Michelle said to Caroline, who almost scoffed at her sister's words... She knew Michelle was exactly the type of mother she said she wasn't... The overbearing kind... She knew her sister was trying to convince herself to be calm so she wouldn't get yelled at by Alex... This was a bit of good news for Caroline... she wished Alex wouldn't grow apart with this juliet girl... she wanted them to even become closer, that would make Gina be free, and she could try her luck for Charles... she knew Michelle would be mad about it, but Caroline cared less about her sister's feelings... Her son was far more important than that... "So are you no longer going to interfere and let things be as they are?" She asked, and Michelle sighed deeply... "That is the problem I'm having now... I say I don't want to interfere, but the longer I don't, the more I get worried... What about Gina... They are such a good match to me, " Michelle explained... Caroline almost rolled her eyes at her sister... she hated the way Caroline was acting like she knew Alex the best... if she really cared for her son, she wouldn't have left him alone in that house... and when he finally left, she shouldn't have let him go back there. Sometimes, she wondered what goes on in Michelle's mind... "Why don't you let him do what he wants, I'm sure he knows what is best for himself. "You know he has lived alone and did things alone for a long time. hasn't he being basically fine the entire time without you interfering and..." Caro trailed off when she saw the way Michelle was looking at her... "I don't mean to say you abandoned him... I'm just trying to tell you that he can probably take care of himself better than you imagined, so you should worry less. " Michelle stood up and walked away, leaving Caroline alone in her living room... Caroline was the closest thing Michelle had to a friend she trusted no one and grew distant with the friends she had when she got married... They had not spoken for hours, and he wanted to call her on video call so he could see her face, but he was busy, and Patrick wouldn't get off his back... The days went by slowly than he had imagined, and he wasn't even half done with his work... He wasn't even sure he could return before two weeks... "Give me five minutes Patrick, five freaking meeting...I will be right outside," Alex said firmly, and Patrick finally left the room... He dialled her number and waited as the phone rang but didn't get a response... Was she at work? what was she doing? did she have lunch yet... He just wanted to know how her day was going... He called her multiple times, and Patrick waited for ten minutes before Patrick knocked on his day again... why was it so hard to reach her... He placed his phone on silent, leaving his hotel room to see Patrick waiting for him. "Let's go," He simply said and walked past Patrick... his mood had a dampened already because he couldn't talk to her... "Okay, we will pick a date during our next meeting," Sonia said, and Juliet nodded... Juliet was about to take out her phone from her pocket when Sonia stopped her "Julie may I have a word with you in my office?" Sonia said, and Juliet nodded... she exchanged looks with Johnny and lana as she followed Sonia out... "You don't have to worry you are not in trouble," Sonia said and sat on her chair... "Have a seat." She gestured for Juliet to take a seat, and juliet hesitantly did... "So I was thinking for a while and I decided this." She picked up an envelope on her desk and handed it to Juliet... juliet hesitantly took it from her boss and opened it... "I should have just sent it to your mail, but I prefer this." Juliet's eyes slowly grew wide as she read the contents of the letter... "I'm getting a promotion!" She said in surpise, and Sonia nodded... "Yes and a well-deserved one... and also you don't have to worry about working from home. I got all that settled out... you just have to come in once every week to give your report, that is all... I'm sure you will do a great job... congratulations julie. And Don't worry about your workload anymore i asked johnny to take care of that, we will get that sorted out by the end of the week" Sonia said and stretched out her hand for a handshake... An excited smile appeared on Juliet's face, and she immediately took her boss hand... it was really great news... she had no problem working at the office every day... the only reason she ever wanted that in her contract was because of her mother when she was ill... thankfully, Sonia had been understanding, and juliet made sure the chance she was given wouldn't be taken for granted... she left Sonia's office with a bright smile on her face... "A well deserved promotion," She muttered... She felt like all her work so far wasn't in vain...
