"Good morning" Olivia greeted Patrick when she arrived at work to see him there pretty early... "Good morning" He responded and smiled slightly... She swallowed as she sat down beside him... they had been so busy with work that they barely had time for interacting... even after a few weeks had passed she couldn't stop thinking about the interaction they had that one time and days after that her feelings for him seemed to increase... "You are pretty early today, Mr Graham won't be coming in for a few hours" She started up a conversation... Patrick who was trying his best to control his racing heart finally turned to look at her and their gazes locked... Patrick broke the gaze and cleared his throat... he had no idea her eyes were this mesmerising and her slight smile tugged at iheartstringsngs... maybe he shouldn't have come to work early... "I had some work that I needed to finish up this morning" He lied... the only reason he had come early was to see her before their day became too busy for them to even have a normal conversation like they were doing right now... "Oh, can I help you with it" Olivia responded and Patrick shook his head... Silence reigned between both of them after their little conversation and the air in the small secretary's office slowly started to become tense till Patrick finally broke the silence when he couldn't take it anymore... "Would you!..." They both said at the same time causing both of them to laugh nervously... Olivia picked up her purse which contained another movie ticket that she had purchased... Maybe this time she could finally confess her feelings and get them off her back... While Patrick wanted to ask her if she would care for a cup of coffee... So he could leave the room and try to regain his composure... He was getting distracted by her... and her presence... "You can go first" Patrick said and Olivia started to fiddle with her fingers... her brown eyes filled with nervousness... "I was wondering if you would like to see a....well...a new movie just came out and I've been waiting for it to come out... but I have no one to ask... and I was wondering if you would like to come with me..." Olivia finally asked him, it felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders... Patrick on the other hand became conflicted with accepting her offer... he kept trying to remind himself that she was a coworker, but since that day in that room he couldn't stop thinking about her and he started to notice the slightest things about her... they had been working together for a few years and he didn't want things to get awkward between them... "Oh, I don't think that is such a good idea..." Patrick responded and Olivia felt her heart drop...the lingering smile on her face dissipated and felt like face palming herself... "Oh, I'm sorry for asking...I shouldn't have" Olivia said in a low voice... she felt her eyes well up with tears and she stood up and left Patrick's side without saying a single word to him... while Patrick felt like he was such a fool, even though he had concluded that he had done a right thing... Olivia walked to the break room and proceeded to make herself a cup of coffee... She blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes and sighed deeply... He didn't like her... she was always the one with a one-sided feeling... she felt hurt and embarrassed that she had asked him out only to get rejected Like that... She knew things would become awkward between the both of them but how could she hide her feeling any longer when she had to see him each passing day... She returned to her seat after making herself a cup of coffee... a slight frown on her face... She didn't even look at Patrick and completely ignored him and tried to focus on her work... When Alex arrived that morning.... he immediately noticed the atmosphere between the two people that worked for him... "Did you fight with Olivia?" He couldn't help but ask Patrick when he came into his office... "No sir, we didn't fight" Patrick responded... Alex noticed something different about Patrick...he didn't look like himself. He looked like he had something on his mind... He was sure something happened between the both of them but decided not to ask any more questions... "Did She find anything missing from her house?" Patrick asked and Alex shook his head... "No nothing seemed to be missing... or probably whoever it was didn't find what they were looking for... she is staying with me for the time being till I'm sure everything is safe" Alex responded and sighed deeply... "I can't think of anyone who would do something like that... anyone would say my mom, but I know she isn't the one... She wouldn't just hire someone to break into her house. what for ?" Alex continued, she ran his hand through his hair and stood up ready to leave for his meeting... "But sir what if the person who did this has a grudge against her and not you" Alex stopped his his tracks as he was about to open his office door... he had thought about that too... Maybe her aunt was involved... They didn't part on good terms the last time they said and Alex had threatened her that if she tried anything else she would pay... Was it a threat not enough to stop her... "Her aunt, find out what she has been up to these days and don't leave anything out... and also find out who might have a grudge against Julie..." Alex instructed and Patrick nodded... Alex was ready to make whoever it was pay for what they had done... "I have a feeling she had something to do with this sir..." Patrick agreed... If didn't like her from the first time they saw her raising her hand at Juliet that day... she looked like the type of person who was ready to do anything to get what they wanted... "Then she won't like the consequences of her actions...I won't let her get away with it" Alex wanted Claudia out of Juliet's life for good
