An hour later when Alex arrived at the apartment, Juliet was still seated in the same spot Michelle had left her... she didn't notice him until she felt a presence close to her... she raised her head to look at him and he had a smile on his face... "What are you thinking so intently about that you didn't even notice me coming in" Alex asked, he had brought lunch for the both of them but Juliet had completely lost her appetite... she had waited for him to come so she could ask him about what his mother had told her, but now that he was standing in front of her she felt like a cat had caught her tongue... "Are you alright?" Alex said, becoming a little worried... "I'm fine, I'm just..." Juliet trailed off and swallowed... she stood up and walked away towards the kitchen Alex following behind her... she poured herself a glass of water and drank it in one go to calm herself... He was sure his mother might have said something to her or even threatened her... he was so done with her meddling in his life... "I think she is right, I'm getting married. But to someone standing right in front of me," Juliet looked confused now... "The only person I want to marry is you Julie... no one else... so don't let what my mother says ever trouble you..." He took her hand and let her sit down... Alex knelt in front of Juliet and took her second hand in his... he brought it to his lips and planted soft kisses on it... "Now can we have lunch together, I have to get back to work soon" Alex stood up and Juliet finally felt at peace even though she had a feeling that Michelle wasn't going to relent easily, she knew she had someone else in mind for Alex but Alex didn't seem to be on board because of her...
