Gladys broke the hug with Juliet and patted her shoulder softly, a warm smile appeared on Juliet's face and then Gladys returned her attention to Gina who had a lingering smile on her face as she stared at the granddaughter and grandmother before she knew it she felt a warm set of arms wrap around her in a warm hug... Gina was taken aback at first, but her eyes slowly softened and then watered up when Gladys started to pat her back soothing... she bit her lips and tried to hold back the tears that wanted to escape her eyes... Gladys' arms were so warm and soft... "You can come by anytime you want.... a friend of Juliet is always welcome here... I will bake you many more tasty muffins" Gladys said and Gina nodded and sniffed as Gladys broke the hug..a smile appeared on Gladys's face as she reached out and wiped away the tears in Gina's eyes and this gesture warmed Gina's heart so much... Juliet had a warm smile on her face and didn't intervene as she watched this wholesome moment... she had made the right decision when she decided to bring Gina with her to her grandmother's place... her grandmother was the warmest person and it made juliet wish that she had met her many more years before now... she would have needed her so many times...
"It's getting late. you both should be on your way now... and Juliet, don't forget to send my greeting to Alex..." Gladys said, and Juliet nodded... she waved at her grandmother as they walked away, and Gina waved at her also... her heart warmed up to know that someone she had just met could be so nice... it made her realise that her parents were simply not nice people and she wasn't the problem they were... she wasn't going to cry over spilt milk any longer...
Gina couldn't help but Glance occasionally at Juliet as they walked back towards where her car was parked. She had so many questions to ask, but she didn't know where to start with her question... "Are you ever going to stop staring at me?" Juliet finally asked because she could feel Gina's gaze on her. "Sorry," Gina said in a low voice, and Juliet sighed deeply. "What do you want to ask me?" She said and glanced at Gina, who was staring at her again. Their eyes met, and Gina immediately looked away and hung her head low... it made a slight smile appear on Juliet's face...
"Does this mean you forgive me?" Gina asked, and Juliet stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her. She was silent for a while before she finally answered Gina's question...
"Yes, I do," Juliet responded and continued to walk. A smile appeared on Gina's face as she walked after Juliet, and for the first time in a long time, she felt like she had a friend... it made her heart warm. "Let me give you a ride," Gina asked when she finally met up with Juliet's pace. "You don't have to," Juliet declined, but Gina wasn't going to take no for an answer like Juliet did when she took her to her grandmother's place...
"I insist, it's going to be dark soon, and it might take a while for you to get a taxi around here", Gina insisted and stood in front of Juliet so she would stop walking. Juliet stopped walking and sighed deeply, and she held back a smile when she saw how excitedly Gina was. She was glad that she was able to get her out of the sad mood she was in when she first met her. They walked to where Gina's car was parked, and before Gina started her engine, she opened her purse and took out something from it... it was a card... a wedding invitation card. "I didn't have a lot of people I could give this to," She said and handed it to Juliet, who took it from her... "Will you come to my wedding," Juliet's eyes scanned over the beautiful card that she was holding in her hands... she loved the beige colour and the design that was used on the card... it was simple yet elegant...
"Just because I forgave you doesn't mean we are friends," Juliet said, and the smile on Gina's face immediately faltered...
"Thank you," Juliet said when Gina stopped her car in front of the apartment. Gina nodded and said nothing as Juliet exited her car... juliet stopped in her tracks as she was about to walk away and tapped on Gina's window... Gina rolled down the window, and Juliet reached into the car and picked up the wedding invitation. "I forgot this and tell your fiance that you both can come over for dinner when you want..." Juliet stretched out her business card, and Gina took it from her. She walked away, and the smile from before returned to Gina's face as she watched Juliet walk off... she sat there in her car for a while...
Juliet hugged Alex and planted a soft kiss on his face as she walked into the apartment... Alex kissed her back and lifted her... a bright smile appeared on his face as he planted a soft kiss on her nose that made Juliet giggle... "I missed you," She whispered close to his lips, and Alex kissed her in response to show her that he missed her more... he carried her to the living room, and Juliet wrapped her legs around him till he placed her on the sofa and sat beside her... a smile appeared on Juliet's face, and she rested her head on his shoulder. "How is your grandmother?" Alex asked. He wanted to come with her, but he had an important meeting, and Juliet had assured him that she would be fine on her own... "She is fine, she sends her greetings to you," She replied, and Alex nodded. He took Juliet's hand in his hand and brought it up to his lips...
Juliet reached into her jacket pocket and touched the wedding invitation that was in it. "Gina dropped me off, she was at My grandmother's place with me," He said, and Alex immediately tilted His head to look at her in surprise.
"What!" he asked, surprised to hear this and wondering how they met in the first place. Juliet hadn't said anything to him about her when he left for work, so how did they end up at her grandmother's house...
Juliet went on to explain a bit of what had happened to Alex and left out a few parts about what Gina had told her about her mother and how messed up Gina had been when she found out. She simply said. "we met by coincidence and I asked her if she would like to come with her, she agreed and we had lunch there together" Juliet explained and Alex could only stare at her in confusion, had she forgotten what Gina did? or was she not telling him everything that happened. he was curious to know... when did they become so close that she was inviting her over to her grandmother's house
