"This tastes nice," Caroline muttered to herself as she took a sip out of her late morning coffee... She heard footsteps approaching and saw her son, trying to walk past the living room... She dropped the cup of coffee her hand and also closed the book she had been reading...
"Where are you off to again? to Alex office?" Caroline said to her, soon causing him to stop in his tracks and turn to look at her... "Is there a problem?" Charles said, and Caroline shook her head and sighed deeply... "Do you know about him lurking around a girl... Michelle seemed really upset about it," She asked, and Charles shook his head. "I was not aware," he lied even though he was fully aware of it. "Can you ask him about it? Maybe it could help Caroline if she gets some information about the girl... You know she wants Alex to get engaged to Dawson's daughter. " Caroline stood up and walked to where her son was standing... "You know we have to be on their good sides that way they can keep helping our company till we are able to stand alone ourselves," She said and patted her son's shoulder... "I know that already, mom. you don't have to remind me all the time. I will try to speak to Alex about investing in my new franchise... you can also speak to aunt maybe she can help, " Charles said, and Caroline smiled slightly at him. even though her heart was burning with anger... She hated the fact that they needed Alex help all the time... It made her feel little to her sister in so many ways... she couldn't even be mad at Michelle because she needed her son's help... it infuriated her and she couldn't do anything about it
"Your father would be proud of the effort you are making... he was really fond of you, " Caro muttered, and the air in the room became a little tense. Silence reigned between the both of them, and she smiled at her son...
"You should get going then. have a great day at work, " She said and adjusted his tie... Charles gave his mother a slight hug before walking out of their living room. Would his father really be proud of him when he was almost making the company go bankrupt? He doubted that... His father must hate him instead...
The smile that had been on Caroline's face disappeared with an immediate effect as soon as he was gone. "At this rate, we might become bankrupt," She muttered as she took a seat on her couch... She had let him do whatever he wanted with and promised herself that she wouldn't have a strained relationship with her son like Michelle and Alex, but now she wished she had been a bit more stricter, then maybe he would be smarter and won't keep making up failing business ideas. The more Alex invested, the more all of Charlie's business ideas failed... At times like this, she was more than jealous that Michelle had married into a wealthier family than she had... The only thing keeping her going was her trust, her parents left behind for she and Michelle and also the inheritance she had gotten after her husband had passed away a few years ago from cancer... Apart from that, the money wasn't enough... She wanted more...
Maybe she could use Alex family influence to set her son up with someone from a good family like the Graham family that could help their business... She picked up her phone and her purse and immediately headed for her front door to get her plans in motion... She would need Michelle's help for a plan like this...
If she had known this would become like this, she should have introduced Gina to Charles instead of telling Michelle about Gina. a daughter in law like that would only elevate Alex the more when Charlie was the one who needed it the most...
Or could she still turn things to her way?
Caroline was sure Alex wouldn't agree to marry Gina easily, especially when it was his mom who knew her and wanted him to... She could use that to her own advantage...
A smile appeared on her face... Now was the time for her to pay attention to her son and no one else...

Charlie hummed as he drove his car out of his house... His eyes filled with anger and his blood boiling... How was he going to save his company? He had run out of ideas and had no idea what to do anymore... he knew Alex was only investing in his company out of pity for him and nothing more. because the more Alex invested, the more he lost money... He sighed deeply and was about to make the turn that led to Alex's office, but he stopped his car and rested his head on his steering wheel... How was Alex so good at business! He had taken business classes and tried his best over the years to study everything, but he wasn't still cut out for it. A sad smile appeared on Charlie's face as he turned his car around... He didn't feel like working. Instead, he needed a drink...
"At least this is doing well," Charlie said to himself when he came out of his car. The private bar he had decided to open after college was the only business idea that wasn't falling, but it still wasn't thriving like he wanted it to. It was neutral.
He was about to walk to the entrance when his eyes caught a woman, who was acting a bit weird.... She was about to enter, but she turned away immediately she saw two people coming out... He watched as she hurried back to her car? what was the matter with her?
He started to walk towards her and he saw how she grew nervous when she saw him... "Are you alright Ma'am" Charlie asked the nervous woman...
