Juliet walked Alex to his car when it was finally time for him to leave... He looked tired and hesitant to leave but he knew he couldn't stay and it was getting late...
"I'm sure your father wouldn't like to know you are finding it hard..." She said as he was about to enter his car...
"I doubt it" Alex answered... "He was more of a workaholic than I was and always put his job first before anything else. that was the live he lived"
"isn't that more of a reason, why he wouldn't want you to live like him" Juliet said and it took Alex a few seconds to digest her words...
"Thank you for the dinner" Alex said and smiled at her... Juliet stood there watching as his car drove off... she hoped he was going to be okay...

Juliet walked into her the publishing office where she worked and headed straight for Sonia's her boss' office. she was going to suggest they try to seek investment for other bigger companies to help them with their debts, but she wasn't sure if it was going to work. they were already on the verge of bankruptcy... "Good morning" She stopped when she saw lana, her coworker, one of the few people who still remained at the office... "Morning... here" Juliet handed her some coffee from the one in her hand and a pack of doughnuts... "Thank you I really needed this" Lana said and Juliet smiled at her. "How is Sonia?" She asked and the smile on lana's face immediately disappeared...
"Not so good. we lost another investor and someone dropped in their resignation letter this morning... she is a mess" Juliet felt her heart, their company was going to close down at this rate...
Lana leaned in closer and said in a hushed tone "I was thinking of dropping my own too today, but I couldn't. I didn't want to break her heart even more" Juliet sighed and was about to head to Sonia's office when they both heard her voice...
"Oh my God!" Sonia exclaimed ine her office and got up from her chair, catching Juliet's and Lana's attention. Both women immediately rushed to her office to check what the matter was and Sonia had a shocked expression when they walked in...
"What is going on" Lana asked expecting more bad news, but instead became more shocked by the news Sonia gave them... "We got a major investor: Sonia said excitedly... Juliet and lana exchanged surprised looks....
"Really?" Juliet said and Sonia nodded and couldn't hold back her smile. "we also got a job... I can't believe this is happening right now. I just got an email and this could solve our entire problem and..." She said excitedly ...
Juliet walked to where lana was and slowly read through the email on the computer. they got an advertising job for one of the biggest hostels in the city that one of the subsidiaries of Graham's Group... It was more than sure big deal because they were just a small company and most dealt with publishing books than advertising...
There were bigger companies who could do a way better job than they would ever deliver, but here she was staring at the email on Sonia's computer that was proving her wrong. She didn't have to leave the company she loved of things worked out well...
"You know what... if things works out well you two are getting promoted!" Sonia declared, she couldn't contain her joy...
"Are you sure this is real" lana asked her boss who was over the moon...
"No I'm not, but me and Julia would be going to find out right now... Johnny will be back in three hours, wait here till he gets back. we will be back ina. few hours too" Sonia picked up her bag and her car keys to the car she had been planning on selling in a few days time but had changed her mind... "Come on Julie, we Don't have all day" Sonia said to juliet and she followed after her...
A solution had presented itself after all. but she was till curious to know why they picked their place out of all the others... They had to have a good reason for it, nothing was ever coincidence she knew that. Did someone come across their work and come pleased and interested with it... She wondered and hoped that was the case.
"Yes ma'am. we can have a meeting soon and plan on how things will go" Sonia exchanged elated looks with as they listened to the person who had sent the email to them. This was really happening. "Your work seems really good and we look forward to working with you"
"Thank you. I will email you and set up a meeting as soon as possible" Sonia said and shook hands with the woman...
Juliet and her boss walked out of the hotel, feeling more positive than ever. "I have a feeling things will get better from now on. we have been through a lot and now there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel" Sonia said as they walked to the parking lot. "I think so too"
"If not for you and lana, I'm not sure what I would have done if you both had quit. I know I have been harsh and bossy this last few months and I'm sorry. I was overwhelmed with everything, when everyone kept dropping in their resignation" A sad smile appeared on Sonia's face and Julia Nodded and sighed... She understood where Sonia was coming from. She knew the past few months had taken a toll on Sonia. She had to do everything herself, with only just five people left in a company that used to have almost thirty employees...
it was hard to take in, when you watch all that you have spent years working for slowly crumble. That was why she couldn't quiet... she couldn't leave Sonia to handle everything on her own. "Thank you for holding out this long"...
