"Charles," Gina called out to Charles in a low voice when a few minutes had passed, and he still hadn't spoken to her. Even if she was afraid of what he was going to say and his reactions, she still wanted to hear it... Charles stood up and turned to look at her. His eyes filled with emotions that he couldn't explain. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. Gina tried to hold his hand, but she was afraid he would let go of her hand... never in her life had she been so scared of losing someone. She didn't want to lose him. She stood up also, her eyes watering up as she stared at him, and the tears she tried her best to hold back fell freely... Charles felt his heart break as soon as he saw the tears in her eyes. Yes, he was angry, but seeing her looking genuinely heartbroken and remorseful about what she had done made his anger slowly start to dissipate. He had no idea what had occurred back then because he had not met her, but he knew that the Gina that was standing in front of him would never do such a thing like that... "I'm sorry," Gina said in between her sobs, and Charles's hand reached out to her face and wiped her tears away... "it's okay," he said in a low voice and managed to smile slightly at her. "we just have to make things right," He said and opened up his arms for her... Gina bit her lips as she hugged him and tried to hold in her tears... "Please don't leave me," She muttered as they hugged, and Charles shook his head. "I'm never going to leave you, I love you," He said and held her closed while Gina buried her face in his chest... "I love you so much," She said in a low voice, and when she raised her head to look at him, Charles planted a soft kiss on her lips, so she would stop crying... her cheeks became flushed, and she swallowed when memories of the night he had proposed to her flashed through her mind... how could she ever forget such a night... it was etched in her brain...
"I want to make things right, but I have no idea how to approach Juliet," Gina said. She had gone to Juliet's office a few times but couldn't get out of her car and instead drove back to her boutique. She was afraid that Juliet wouldn't forgive her. Because if it were her, Gina wasn't sure if she would be so forgiving. She had tried to run her over, and Alex wasn't there that day, and she had been successful. Juliet would have sustained a lot of injuries or, in a worst-case scenario, died... how could she face someone she almost killed... "I will come with you and talk to Alex. You don't have to worry," Charles assured.
"Do you think she will forgive me?" She asked, and Charles couldn't give her an answer to her questions. He, too, wanted to make up with Alex after what happened at his office...

Juliett paced back and forth in her room as she waited for Alex to receive the call about the DNA test. Her heart raced in fear as each second passed by because she had no idea what it would be. "Juliet." He called her name softly, and she stopped pacing and turned to look at him... he tapped the space beside him and gestured for her to take a seat. She was hesitant but did as he asked... he took her hand and squeezed it in support, and she let out a deep sigh. It wasn't even up to a minute later that Alex's phone rang... her breath hitched as Alex picked up his phone and answered the call... her eyes were filled with anticipation and curiosity as she stared at him. "Okay, thank you. I will check it out now, " Alex said and ended the call... "What did they say?" She asked as soon as he did. "They are going to send me a file soon containing the result," He answered, and Juliet nodded. A few seconds later, his phone beeped, and Alex opened it to check what had been sent to him... he exchanged looks with Juliet as he clicked open the file and they both silently read through it and immediately they got to the last part Juliet muttered it out "99.99 per cent related" She said and let out a deep sigh... she ran her hand through her hair and then face palmed herself. She wasn't sure if she was relieved or even more confused, but at least Gladys was her grandmother... she couldn't wait to inform Gladys about it, but first she wanted to make sure they found Gerald, but her fear was after they found him.
"What now?" Juliet muttered. If she found him, then what. she didn't know him... what if he had been long dead, and that was why Gladys couldn't find him. The same thoughts kept popping up in her head over and over again, anything she tried to push to the back of her mind. Where exactly was he that he couldn't even call or visit his mother once for over twenty years... only a person with an extremely cold heart could do such a thing
. "We find him; I have someone working on that already; we will find him soon", Alex assured, and Juliet nodded, even though a part of her was afraid to know why her father left them. Did he abandon them to start a new family? Did his relationship with Her mother not work out, then why didn't he come to see her for so long? Did he not want a child after her mother became pregnant... she wondered about so many things... "I don't know what to say to him when I meet him. I don't remember much about him, " Juliet said and turned to look at Alex. "What if he abandoned me and didn't even want to see me? What then? what am I supposed to do then?" She voiced out her fears and worries, and Alex pulled her into a warm hug; he didn't even know what to say because he wasn't the type of person Gerald was, so he couldn't tell her what he knew she wanted to hear...
"Everything will be fine," Alex said soothingly and patted her back, and Juliett closed her eyes... everything was going to be fine...
