"Juliet!" Alex called out to Juliet, who he had been waiting for for almost an hour... "I'm almost done", Juliet answered and picked up her bag, but stopped in her tracks when she realised that she had forgotten something... she rushed back into her closet and picked up her phone before she finally came out to meet Alex. "We are going to get there late,", Alex said when she came out of the room, and Juliet leaned closer to him and planted a soft kiss on his lips as an apology... "I'm sorry, I almost forgot my phone", she said, and Alex sighed deeply... he took the bag she had packed from her hand, and they both proceeded downstairs... juliet had a lingering smile on her face as they rode the elevator down to the garage... She was super excited about the trip and was thinking about all the things they could do there and one of the things she wanted to do was go out on an evening walk...thankfully they were spending a few days there, and every night they could go on a walk... Alex glanced at her. A smile graced his face when he saw that her mind had trailed off; he could tell from the time she had on that she was thinking about something good, and he was too... he planned to make the trip special for the both of them even though anything with her was already special... They got to the car and soon their trip started... Juliet told Alex a story about the time when she was in high school and Alex couldn't help but chuckle about the silly story she was telling him and the words she had said to him before popped up in his mind... 'one step at a time... they were taking everything a step at a time... and he could feel himself slowly start to heal... He hadn't had a panic attack in months and even though at times he still had nightmares about what happened in his childhood, he was learning to live his life with it because he knew it was a part of him that would stay in his heart forever... a part of him that he had now come to accept as his traumatic past... his goal was to make new memories... happy memories with the woman he loved... She was so beautiful and full of life and Alex knew he would be thankful for as long as he lived that he Met her... meeting her was the best thing that ever happened to him and he had Patrick to thank for that... if Patrick hadn't driven into that neighbourhood on that faithful day and he hadn't stumbled into her maybe they would have never met and his life would have remained completely gloomy... They arrived at the beach a few hours later, and Alex felt refreshed as he watched Juliet run towards the water. A bright smile on her beautiful face... she was his joy and he was ready to do anything to make her happy... "Alex!" Juliet yelled out and waved at him and Alex waved back at her... his heart full as he watched and walked towards her... Juliet stopped walking when Alex finally caught up to her and she wrapped her hand around his waist and stood on her toe so she could plant a kiss on his lips... "I love it here... I'm glad you chose the beach... I feel refreshed just by staring at the water," She said, and Alex planted a soft kiss on her nose... ______________________ ______________________ They made dinner together, and Alex taught Juliet one of his pasta recipes... "Wow, this is amazing,", she said when she took a bit out of the food they. A bright smile appeared on her face as she took another bite and then another... Alex rested his back against the counter of the kitchen, his hand folded across his chest as he stared at her eating. Staring at her alone made him full already. "Aren't you going to eat?" Juliet said when she took the last bite from the dinner, and Alex shook his head... "No, I'm not hungry yet", Alex answered, and Juliet nodded. She was silent for a few seconds before she handed him her plate "Can I have more then?" She asked; Juliet had noticed an increased rate in her appetite and didn't know what the cause was... Alex nodded and took the plate from her... he dished out more food for her and watched her for a while before leaving her alone... juliet wondered where he was headed but didn't ask... when she was done she cleared the table and stood there waiting for Alex to return... and when he finally returned, he had his jacket on and was holding one in his hand... "let's go outside..." Alex said, he had her jacket in his hand already and Juliet could see the excitement in his eyes... was this the reason why he wanted to come to the beach... she nodded and Alex helped her put her jacket on while juliet kept studying him with a lingering smile on his face... she was happy to see this side of him.. it was a side she had missed and longed for months... The evening sky looked magical as they walked back the beach... juliet had a bright smile on her face as she tilted her head to look at Alex and he smiled back at her, his racing as he stared at the woman he was so in love with and each second that passed he kept falling in love with her and knew he would for the rest for his life... the smile she had on her face melted his heart and he stopped walking causing her to stop also... juliet stared at him with confusion etched on her face... she was about to ask why he stopped walking when Alex pulled her close and captured her lips... she closed her eyes and kissed him back , her hand intertwined with his as they kissed and juliet eyes immediately fluttered open when she felt something... Alex broke the keys and Juliet's eyes travelled from his mesmerising eyes down to their intertwined fingers and her eyes immediately grew wide when she saw the beautiful ring on her finger.... her heart started to race like crazy in her chest as she looked back up at Alex.... and he wrapped his arms around her... "I can only imagine my future with you in it... I want to wake up every morning for the rest of my life with you by my side... thank you so much for being with me, Juliet... since you came into my life, I finally know what happiness means... and I want to be happy with you for the rest of my life... I want to be your husband and I want you to be my wife..." Alex said and Juliet nodded..... she wanted to be his wife over and over again, in this life and the next... she wanted to be with him for the rest of her life too and couldn't imagine a life without him.... "I love you" Juliet said as Alex captured her lips and took her breath away. She kissed him back as tears escaped her eyes, her mind travelling back to the first time she saw him, the first time her heart started to race for him, the first time she realised she loved him and the first time she knew she couldn't live without him... Alex broke the kiss, a smile on his face as he stared at his wife... she looked beautiful and perfect... and they couldn't help but laugh... a laughter filled with joy and excitement of the future... though they had no idea what they might face, but they were ready to face it together...
