"Maybe lana was mistaken," Juliet muttered to herself as she walked away from the bus stop after getting down from the bus.... It was late already and dark outside, but she couldn't stop thinking about Gina... she knew she wasn't mistaken. It was definitely the woman she saw at the boutique. The question was, how was this woman related to Alex? was she perhaps like a friend of his or maybe just an acquaintance of Michelle, his mother... she sighed deeply and ran her hand through her hair... "Or maybe a ex girlfriend" she muttered under Her breath and felt a small pang of jealously in her heart, but juliet immediately stomped on it... if she was an ex girlfriend them she had no reason to be jealous they were no longer together...
But his mother definitely liked her for son, if they still hanged out together... "Gina's place," She said in a low voice. The boutique had been exceptional...
Someone who shopped at such a place would be definitely well off like Alex... Juliet was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't realise the showdow behind her... it wasn't until she was about to take a shortcut that was faster to her house. Did she notice a figure following her.... Her heart immediately dropped when she heard the footsteps coming closer...
she quickened her pace and decided to take the playground route instead of the shortcut alley, in hopes that a few people might still be outside... she couldn't even glance behind her because of fear that was slowly becoming more as each second went by... The Grip she had on her bag tightened, and her pace increased even more.... The person behind also increased their pace, and her heavy completely dropped... was she going to get mugged!...
"Juliet!" juliet was on the Verge of sprinting when she heard someone call out to her and immediately recognised the person voice, it was Alex, and he was standing a distance away from her... He was waving at her and had a smile on his face... Juliet immediately started to run to where he was, her heart racing like crazy... she coulf hear the footsteps behind her stopping and she finally had to courage to look behind her...
because it was dark, she could barely see the face of the person, who had a baseball cap on.... "Alex," She said, his name in relief, and was completely out of the breath by the time she was standing in front of him!
Alex immediately knew that something was wrong, he has assumed she was running to him because she missed him like he had missed her but now that he saw the look of raw fear on her face, he started to worry.... "What's wrong!" He asked, and juliet pointed behind her... "I think someone was following me." She breathed out in a ragged voice....
"What!" Alex was about to go and check, but she held his arm, stopping him. What if whoever it was was armed and tried to harm him...
"it was probably a thief!"She said... "But you were here, thankfully... we should go. " Alex eyes still remained in the direction towards which juliet had pointed... who the hell had followed her... he should have gotten to the bus stop faster to wait for her and walk her home..
"Let's go." Alex took her hand, and they both started to walk away, but not without juliet glancing behind her one more time... she could help but think about what would have happened if Alex wasn't there... he had saved her again...
"I don't want you walking alone so late at night anymore," Alex said when they almost got to her house... and juliet sighed... she didn't really have a choice... a taxi would be way too expensive and the bus was a much cheaper option for her...
"I can just come home earlier when it's still bright outside," She said in a low voice, but Alex definitely wasn't happy with it...
"How about I get you a car and a driver... he will take you to work and drop you at home..." Alex suggested, juliet immediately shook her head in disagreement...
"No, that will not be necessary!" she declined...
"He doesn't have to come every day, only when you want to go to work... because I can't be here always because of work. " Alex tried to convince her, but juliet wasn't ready to listen.
people would definitely grow suspicious, especially lana, when she saw that a car with a driver picked her up and drove her around...
"No, I will think of something else," She responded, and Alex sighed deeply... if she was declining a car so adamantly, then how would she react about the building... it was good he didn't tell her about it yet... he would have to ask for her full protection then, he couldn't risk anything happening to her...
"Promise me you won't walk around so late at night," Alex asked, juliet wasn't expecting him to become so serious all of a sudden, but she nodded. "I promise," she said and smiled slightly at him... Was something going on that she needed to know about... "I'm fine, Alex... I've been living here for a while now, " She assured Him and tried to lighten up the tense mood that had formed between the both of them... she had been scared when she heard footsteps trailing behind her. Thankfully, Alex had shown up and scared whoever it was away...
Alex took Juliet hand in his and drew her closer... He knew he should have been more careful... He hated that she had to walk home herself so late at night and wished she would just follow him home... it would be much safer in his house. Thankfully, his employees knew their place and minded their own business. so she wouldn't have to worry about news of then getting out. Alex didn't even mind if news of then got out, but he knew juliet would.
"
"Wait here for a second," Alex said when they got to her house... juliet nodded, her eyes filled with curiosity as she watched Alex walk over to her window and check if it was strong and locked well...
"This should have iron bars" Alex muttered under his breath and sighed deeply... there was no way he was going to let her sleep alone tonight in her house...
